Jan 10, 2013I have elements 10 and I was trying to open a .pef file and it could not open. I tried to reinstall Camera Raw 6.7 and it will not reinstall.

Jan 31, 2013I have Photoshop Elements 10. It worked until I upgraded to Mountain Lion.Now when I try to open it, I get two error messages: 1: "Could not open a scratch file because the disk is not available." 2: "Could not initialize Photoshop Elements because the disk is not available."

May 19, 2012When I first installed Adobe Photoshop CS6 I was unable to run Photoshop or Bridge CS6. Photoshop would give me an error about "could not open a scratch file because the file is locked. If I ran either of these programs as an administrator they would run without issue, this led me to believe that there was a permission issue somewhere. After some digging I found out the both Bridge and Photoshop try to create a temp file (similiar to Photoshop Temp2777223910092) on the c: drive of the computer. In my case the user that I was logged in with did not have access to write to the root of the C: drive. Note that you run the program as the administrator and change the scratch disk location as that changes the preference for the administrator user and not the user that you are currently logged in as.
I first had to give the user that I was logged on with write permissions to the root of the C: drive. Next try and run Photoshop, you will get an error another error about the scratch disk and about and invalid or missing setting file. To correct this you need to have run Photoshop as an administrator, next you can go to Users AdminAppDataRoamingAdobeAdobe Photoshop CS6Adobe Photoshop CS6 Settings and copy Adobe Photoshop CS6 Prefs and/or Adobe Photoshop X64 CS6 Prefs to Users<your logged in username>AppDataRoamingAdobeAdobe Photoshop CS6.Adobe Photoshop CS6 Settings.

May 23, 2013Last week I bought Photoshop Elements 11. I used the program to open pdf-files and work with it. However the second time I opened Photoshop I couldn't open any pdf files anymore. I uninstalled photoshop en installed it again. Unfortunately this didn't work. I still cannot open any pdf-files. Photoshop sais: error program.

Oct 8, 2012I have a new computer and want to move the databse catalog over. I backed up in PSE 9 to an external hard drive. I connected to HD to the new computer and tried a resotre catalog. I chose "New Location" since I was going from XP to Windows 7 and was unsure if there would be a conflict with file locations. I also chose "Restore Original Floder Strucure". Very quickly I recieve an error message "Could not restor file .xml". I have run Restore Catalog several times and each time a DIFFERENT FILE receives the error message. I then disabled Norton Anti Virus Auto-Protect. I then disabled several programs running in the background. Same problem. I then copied the Backup Catalog to the new computer and tried to Restore it from there. Same Problem. I have now run a Repair Catalog on the original file. PSE states there is no error. I want to purchas PSE 11, but wanted to install/restore the database with the same version 9 first.

Jun 17, 2012I have recently purchased a new desktop under WIN 7 as well as Adobe Creative Suite CS6.My first internal hard disk is 2 TB, the second one installed is from my old PC, 250 GB.
I am getting this error when trying to save a file over an existing file using the “Save” command.The message is wrong, because the filename IS valid. This error is persistent.This error does not occur when doing the same action on my second internal hard disk.This error happens on files larger than about 1MB in weight.
What happens is that the original file over which I try to do the ”Save” command gets corrupted and lost.If I don't use the “Save as” command to save my work under a different name, my work is lost.The same problem occurs with both PS CS6 versions, 64 Bit and 32 Bit.

Jul 31, 2013We have purchased new iMac's to replace our current 5 year old Mac pros. So we decided that instead of reinstalling CS5.5, which was what was installed on the Mac Pros , we would got straight to Creative Cloud
Now, If an ai file that was previously created on the Mac Pro in CS5.5 with linked images(stored on a shared folder on a Windows 2008 server) , when that ai file is opened on the iMac in Illustrator CC, we get the error "Could not find the linked file. Choose Replace to select another file or ignore to leave the link unchanged". If you click ignore, when you check the link path for the missing images , the path is blank.

Mar 2, 2014I was just working on something about an hour ago, I know I saved it. But now when I try to open it, a message pops up saying: "could not complete your request becuase the file is not compatible with this version of photoshop." I understand that I should've saved as a jpeg too but is there any way I can get this back, I really don't want my hard work to go to waste and to have to start over! I am using Elements 10.

I get a message saying something like "Cannot open file (filename.CR2) because it is the wrong type of file". Someone in another thread suggested that not all CR2 files are the same...that they're camera dependent. (It seems like they shouldn't be) Supposedly ACR 5.6 supports the Canon S90, which is 2 generations prior to the S100.
