Last week I bought Photoshop Elements 11. I used the program to open pdf-files and work with it. However the second time I opened Photoshop I couldn't open any pdf files anymore. I uninstalled photoshop en installed it again. Unfortunately this didn't work. I still cannot open any pdf-files. Photoshop sais: error program.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI am a web designer and rely heavily on Photoshop 7 which all of a sudden won't open. . . all fonts load fine, plug-ins, etc. but it craps out in the initialization phase. . . . in other words the program disappears. (Win 2000 Pro, Pentium III, double 800 MHz processors, 768 MB Ram.) I multi task between Dreamweaver, Photoshop, word and sometimes fireworks and when things get slow, I reboot. A few days ago I put some new Photoshop 7 complaint plug-ins and tested the machine with each one or small group with no problem. Everything worked fine for a few days. . .
Then once it took a really long time for the program to open and the next day this occurred. I have removed Photoshop, moved the plug-ins and extras to another folder out of the way, rebooted and then reinstalled Photoshop to no avail.
Do I need to remove registry entries and other files? and if so can anyone direct me to instructions so I can get a clean install.
In the meantime I have installed Photoshop on my server machine and am working there and sending images across the network. . . a real drag. Issues like this scare me because short of getting a new computer, I am not sure what to do.
Suddenly Photoshop CC does not open anymore. Every time I try to open PS it says: could not initialize Photoshop because of a program error.

I canceled the error message a few times, then saved the document, closed photoshop and reopend the application. Since that moment, I was not able to open the file anymore, Photoshop just stopped making anything. But I can open every other psd-file, but not this specific one. Always when I try to open the specific file Photoshop stopps doing anything.
I tried a lot of things like deleting the font cache, trying to open the file with an older photoshop version, tried to open it with ID, AI, FW, Gimp etc.
I am using Photoshop CC on Windows 7 (64bit).
I get the following error message"The catalog could not be opened because it is currently in use by another program" This happened to me before and your online chat person wlked me throught the sets of suttin down a few component of Photoshop that were running in the background. I need that again

When I plug in my Nikon D7000 and try to import photos, I just get a message "The following files could not be imported because they could not be read". Then it lists the file names of the various files. Message displays regardless if I try .NEF or .JPEG files. The photos appear in the library module, so I know Lr is pulling them from the correct place (camera). When I plug the camera into my desktop PC where I also have Lr installed, all works fine.

Then there is a list of images (usually all of the photos imported). This didn't always happen and I can't pinpoint exactly when it started. My LR catalog and backups are stored on an EHD.
I am currently saving all of my metadata to files (just to be sure) and backing up my catalog so I can upgrade to LR5 (already purchased) but want to be sure my catalog is good before I do that.I've tried everything I know - checking my backup location and drive in LR window match up.
When I first installed Adobe Photoshop CS6 I was unable to run Photoshop or Bridge CS6. Photoshop would give me an error about "could not open a scratch file because the file is locked. If I ran either of these programs as an administrator they would run without issue, this led me to believe that there was a permission issue somewhere. After some digging I found out the both Bridge and Photoshop try to create a temp file (similiar to Photoshop Temp2777223910092) on the c: drive of the computer. In my case the user that I was logged in with did not have access to write to the root of the C: drive. Note that you run the program as the administrator and change the scratch disk location as that changes the preference for the administrator user and not the user that you are currently logged in as.
I first had to give the user that I was logged on with write permissions to the root of the C: drive. Next try and run Photoshop, you will get an error another error about the scratch disk and about and invalid or missing setting file. To correct this you need to have run Photoshop as an administrator, next you can go to Users AdminAppDataRoamingAdobeAdobe Photoshop CS6Adobe Photoshop CS6 Settings and copy Adobe Photoshop CS6 Prefs and/or Adobe Photoshop X64 CS6 Prefs to Users<your logged in username>AppDataRoamingAdobeAdobe Photoshop CS6.Adobe Photoshop CS6 Settings.
Every-time I try either of these I get windows cannot locate Adobe_lightroom_x64.msi...I copied that file from the installation but lightroom refuses to use it!I tried deleting all the fold files for lightroom and still couldn't remove the program!!!

I click "open," navigate to the picture I want to open and nothing happens. I tried holding down, Ctrl, Alt, Shift when starting the editor to reset preferences and that did nothing. I even tried going to Preferences and clicking Reset Preferences on next launch and that also did nothing.
