After Updating OS X (Maverick) Illustrator CS6 is not able to open .svg and .svgz files with SVG text under the condition, that the fonts not installed on the system. Is there any solution available to open such files without installing the fonts?

I use an iMac late 2012, 16gb of ram, graphics card GTX 680MX and disk fusion.
I just downloaded Apple's new operating system "OS X Version 10.9" (Maverick). When I tried to open Adobe After Effects CS6 (which I purchased within the last year), immediately the following message came up (it wouldn't even open):
"You can't use this version of the application 'Adobe After Effects CS6' with this version of OS X.
You have 'Adobe After Effects CS6' 11.0."
When I googled this problem, I discovered that I could download "Adobe After Effects CC 12.0.1 Update." When I did this, the following message came up when I clicked "AdobePatchInstaller" :
"Update Failed
Updates could not be applied
This patch is not applicable for you. Pleas check for updates from the Help menu in your product to see a list of the latest updates available.
If the problem persist, contact customer support for further assistance."
The problem with those instructions, is that I can't even open the application to access the "Help menu" inside.
I've updated programs and installed latested version of Java but did not resolve any of the issues.

View 11 Replies View RelatedI am a web designer and rely heavily on Photoshop 7 which all of a sudden won't open. . . all fonts load fine, plug-ins, etc. but it craps out in the initialization phase. . . . in other words the program disappears. (Win 2000 Pro, Pentium III, double 800 MHz processors, 768 MB Ram.) I multi task between Dreamweaver, Photoshop, word and sometimes fireworks and when things get slow, I reboot. A few days ago I put some new Photoshop 7 complaint plug-ins and tested the machine with each one or small group with no problem. Everything worked fine for a few days. . .
Then once it took a really long time for the program to open and the next day this occurred. I have removed Photoshop, moved the plug-ins and extras to another folder out of the way, rebooted and then reinstalled Photoshop to no avail.
Do I need to remove registry entries and other files? and if so can anyone direct me to instructions so I can get a clean install.
In the meantime I have installed Photoshop on my server machine and am working there and sending images across the network. . . a real drag. Issues like this scare me because short of getting a new computer, I am not sure what to do.
Suddenly Photoshop CC does not open anymore. Every time I try to open PS it says: could not initialize Photoshop because of a program error.

However the second time I opened Photoshop I couldn't open any pdf files anymore. I uninstalled photoshop en installed it again. Unfortunately this didn't work. I still cannot open any pdf-files. View 2 Replies View RelatedI was working on a psd-file this morning when suddenly an error message appeared - saying somthing of the text engine. I canceled the error message a few times, then saved the document, closed photoshop and reopend the application. Since that moment, I was not able to open the file anymore, Photoshop just stopped making anything. But I can open every other psd-file, but not this specific one. Always when I try to open the specific file Photoshop stopps doing anything.
I tried a lot of things like deleting the font cache, trying to open the file with an older photoshop version, tried to open it with ID, AI, FW, Gimp etc.
I am using Photoshop CC on Windows 7 (64bit).
It started about 3 or 4 weeks ago on my office workstation with Inventor 2013 Pro. Seems to still go okay at home with 2014. I'm using Inventor's built-in PDF export, not an external program.

I have a file where there are mostly surfaces and gradings. But once again i ran into a similar problem - i cannot open the file anymore. It just stops loading and then Civil crashes.
Can try to open it and maybe use MAPCLEAN or AUDIT in hope it fixes anything?
Why do these things even keep happening, i do not understand at all.

As soon as I click the drop down the screen shows as blank and the program freezes. This happens with all the following commands, Save AS, Insert.

I seem to have the problem with all autocad products on my Windows 8 pro desktop. I have tried Autocad LT 2013 & 2014.
I just learned that it's not possible anymore to export slices to swf or svg via the save for web dialog: [URL] .....
Apart from the fact that I believe that this is a pretty strange decision to remove an existing feature… Any workaround for that (apart from installing cs5.5...)?
I need to somehow be able to export my slices to swf. As far as I know, the only option to export slices is via the save for web dialog, but this dialog only offers pixel graphic formats, so now way to use fireworks or what ever to convert them to vector swfs…
my Illustrator CS6 (64) denies any service since a month, but (32) is functioning perfectly .

See Attachment: I can draw and position them in perspective, but when I select the "Perspective Selection Tool (red)" and select an object, the handles in the corners / sides are not visible anymore (blue).
when i press the command of "" to draw a line if i input 35 the line comes out to 34.925. Before it didn't do that. I'm sure i haven't made changes.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI used to save art for printers by using Adobe PDF. Worked great. Now, for some reason all of the art I save under "Adobe PDF" automatically opens in Photoshop. I don't know why or how to fix that. This causes rasterization of my images and it appears the PDF is saved in Photoshop, not Adobe Illustrator. How do I fix this? I don't remember changing anything.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI must have hit a hotkey or something because now when I drag select vector and text and copy paste inside the same document it only pastes unformated text back without any vector.
When I use create outlines on the text it copies fine but if Im just copying everythign together or only the text object I get unformated text back.
If I click on an eye symbol the symbol disappears, but not the elements on the screen like you should expect. There's also a weird behavior with the lock symbols. If I lock a layer, I can click the paths anyway. The lock symbols doesn't work anymore. The whole layers palette is useless now. I tried to remove the whole "Adobe Illustrator 17 Settings" folder, but that had no positive effect.

My dock and top menus have completely disappeared in Adoby LR (both 4 and the new 5) and I cannot get them to stay permenantly. Super annoying and this only happened after my Maverick upgrade. I contacted Apple, but the issue is ONLY with Lightroom -- not any other program, so Apple thinks it's an Adobe bug.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have shot tethered through various versions of Lightroom with various cameras with mixed results. With each new version of LR, it seems that shooting tethered becomes more prone to crashes and in LR 5, I have found that the transfer of images is so slow as to be unusable. I recently had a shoot where I used LR 5 for the first time. The transfer of images was so slow that, after trying disk doctor to repair the disk and restarting the computer several times, I finally switched back to LR 4 and found that the transfer, while still prone to its odd temperaments, was much much faster than LR 5.
While LR 4 seems to be much better than LR 5 for shooting tethered, it is still so temperamental. If the camera sits for more than a few minutes without activity, LR no longer accepts images from the camera. I then have to shut down LR and restart it, making sure to have the camera off until LR is relaunched and tethering is turned on once again. If I do it in the wrong order, it doesn't work. During a shoot, it is maddening to have to constantly restart LR 4.
Looking for making LR 4 less temperamental and LR 5 functional when tethering?
Cannot open .AI files, I have run all the updates but still having to use Fireworks to open AI files.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm working with both Photoshop and Illustrator CS6 on a mac. I'm creating a graphic. The background is a (cartoonish) mouth and I finished it a couple of days ago. (It's an Illustrator file.) I've been working on the letters to go inside of the mouth, (Once I'm finished it'll look as though they're being crushed.) I scanned and edited small wooden letters in Photoshop, and now I would like to work with them with the background in Illustrator. I understand how to open a Photoshop file in Illustrator, but I don't want to open the document as a separate Illustrator file. Is there a way to open a file from Photoshop as a second layer?
Some of the letters repeat as well. Will I have to create two files for this, or can I open the same file twice?
When I try to open after effects it says it is not compatible with this version of OS X.

It can take over a minute just to get the Open dialog box up to browse for a file. Eventually, the dialog boxes open, but during the time that it's trying to open, the program is unresponsive. It is happening with all of my CS6 programs. I have unistalled and reinstalled with no fix. The programs are updated.

I can use "edit named selection set" button, and create selection sets, but my list just show blank list. if I re-install max on top of existing one (perhaps this can solve my problem) do I keep all my UI, macros, scripts as is, or I must install all plugs and macro again ?
Running a imac, 10.84 OS. Downloaded and installed CC suites on June 24. Things seemed fine, but 4 days later, I am getting spinning beach balls all over and then my computer wouldn't repair itself or start up.Out of desparation, I took it to the apple store. I found the hardware was good, they reinstalled a fresh OS and wiped everything clean. I backed up from time machine,everything seemed aok, but no such luck, things are not good with CC products.
