View 12 RepliesI am a web designer and rely heavily on Photoshop 7 which all of a sudden won't open. . . all fonts load fine, plug-ins, etc. but it craps out in the initialization phase. . . . in other words the program disappears. (Win 2000 Pro, Pentium III, double 800 MHz processors, 768 MB Ram.) I multi task between Dreamweaver, Photoshop, word and sometimes fireworks and when things get slow, I reboot. A few days ago I put some new Photoshop 7 complaint plug-ins and tested the machine with each one or small group with no problem. Everything worked fine for a few days. . .
Then once it took a really long time for the program to open and the next day this occurred. I have removed Photoshop, moved the plug-ins and extras to another folder out of the way, rebooted and then reinstalled Photoshop to no avail.
Do I need to remove registry entries and other files? and if so can anyone direct me to instructions so I can get a clean install.
In the meantime I have installed Photoshop on my server machine and am working there and sending images across the network. . . a real drag. Issues like this scare me because short of getting a new computer, I am not sure what to do.
Last week I bought Photoshop Elements 11. I used the program to open pdf-files and work with it. However the second time I opened Photoshop I couldn't open any pdf files anymore. I uninstalled photoshop en installed it again. Unfortunately this didn't work. I still cannot open any pdf-files. Photoshop sais: error program.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI was working on a psd-file this morning when suddenly an error message appeared - saying somthing of the text engine. I canceled the error message a few times, then saved the document, closed photoshop and reopend the application. Since that moment, I was not able to open the file anymore, Photoshop just stopped making anything. But I can open every other psd-file, but not this specific one. Always when I try to open the specific file Photoshop stopps doing anything.
I tried a lot of things like deleting the font cache, trying to open the file with an older photoshop version, tried to open it with ID, AI, FW, Gimp etc.
I am using Photoshop CC on Windows 7 (64bit).
Photoshop quit suddenly and now won't open, how can I fix this?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've been using CS3 forever with few problems. All of the sudden, today it quit opening images. The program loads and opens without any problem, but I can't open any images. I have rebooted about 5 times and disconnected all plug-in equipment (ipod, printer, etc.) Can anyone tell me how to fix this??
I found a thread on this topic in the Mac forum, but it hasn't helped me. The problem there seemed to be images on a disk, but the images I'm trying to open are on my harddrive.
CS3 Extended, on Vista Ultimate,
Was working fine, then one day went to edit a file and got a message saying could not open due to program error.
I have reset preferences and turned version cue off, but still nothing works.
I have previewed the "flattened" image in brava, and in the open console of adobe, so i can see the file is there.
I have reinstalled adobe, but still nothing.
I have tried saving new images and opening them, but they will not!
I have PSE 8 running on my dell computer with windows 8. I have been using the program for about one month and two days ago I tried to add a dell printer. I have removed the printer from my computer and PSE still won't open. I have uninstalled the program and reinstalled it and still no luck.
I try to open to edit opening via the program and it says that it is launching but it never opens. If I try to open PSE via a picture (right click, open with Photoshop) it gives me an error message "Photoshop Elements Editor has stopped working"
After Updating OS X (Maverick) Illustrator CS6 is not able to open .svg and .svgz files with SVG text under the condition, that the fonts not installed on the system. Is there any solution available to open such files without installing the fonts?
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhy is Bridge CS6 suddenly slow to open files?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI purchased CS5.5 extended about 3 weeks ago and all was working fine. Just yesterday Photoshop started crashing whenever I try to open files. I've deleted preferences several times, validated my fonts, restarted my Mac, etc. all to no avail. Photoshop has become useless to me and it's part of how I make my living. InDesign seems to work OK but I haven't tried Illustrator yet.
Here is last night's crash report (half the time it crashes with no report).

My 8 core 2.8 GHz Mac Pro has 10 GB RAM and a blank 100 GB scratch disk. Photoshop is always quick. Has been for years. Suddenly today, Photoshop is slow like molasses to open & save files. Lots of progress bars and wait cursors. Everything else on the Mac is fine. It boots quickly & normally, and other apps are happy. My boot drive, a clean installed Mountain Lion system, says S.M.A.R.T. Status: Verified. In Activity Monitor, a process with ID # 0, Kernel Task, was using 700 to 800 MB RAM, while another process, mds, with ID # 44, is using 350 MB RAM.
I should add that I booted from a backup system and its copy of Photoshop was also doing the same thing. In addition, a high level troubleshooter on Apple Discussions informed me that my present level of 500 MB RAM for Kernel Task is normal. So all I know is Photoshop is suddenly slow.
It started about 3 or 4 weeks ago on my office workstation with Inventor 2013 Pro. Seems to still go okay at home with 2014. I'm using Inventor's built-in PDF export, not an external program.

I have a file where there are mostly surfaces and gradings. But once again i ran into a similar problem - i cannot open the file anymore. It just stops loading and then Civil crashes.
Can try to open it and maybe use MAPCLEAN or AUDIT in hope it fixes anything?
Why do these things even keep happening, i do not understand at all.
I uploaded the file to [URL]
As soon as I click the drop down the screen shows as blank and the program freezes. This happens with all the following commands, Save AS, Insert.
I have checked the FILEDIA and it is set to 1
I seem to have the problem with all autocad products on my Windows 8 pro desktop. I have tried Autocad LT 2013 & 2014.
This morning I was editing a photo with Paintshop x5. I rotated it; adjusted levels, and saved. Fine; then I went to resize it to make a smaller version for email. I suddently get a message from Windows (7) saying the program has stopped and that Windows will shut it down and there will be a message as to what might be the problem. Well, it shut it down; no message. Now I can't start up Paintshop x5; it stays open for a few seconds, then I get the same message.
Since it was working fine, I assume something got corrupted? Something I can remove? I am NOT looking forward to having to reinstall the program for no apparent reason.
WIndows 7 64bit; Dell Vostro 270, i3 3GHZ, 4 gig ram.
When I right click on a photo in LR3 and click on 'edit in Photoshop CS4', it opens the dialogue box that it has always opened: 'This version of Lightroom may require Camera Raw version 6.5 to be fully compatible,' or something to that effect. I have never needed to worry about that, and have always been able to just click on OK and it has worked anyway, however suddenly it doesn't.
So I checked (just in case the issue was my version of Camera Raw) and I am running Camera Raw version 5.70.213
So I tried to update it to 6.5. I downloaded it (and the Adobe installer manager which it seemed to want me to install), but when I try to install 6.5 I get a message: 'This is not required'.So one message tells me it is required, and another won't allow it to install and says it is not required.
I don't seem to be able to install the latest version of Camera Raw (doesn't bother me as I don't use it - I use LR, except if it is causing this problem), and I have the problem of being unable to edit any of my LR catalogue in CS4.
when I try to open the program I get this message:
The application failed to initialize properly (Oxc0000034) Click on OK to terminate the application.
Running a imac, 10.84 OS. Downloaded and installed CC suites on June 24. Things seemed fine, but 4 days later, I am getting spinning beach balls all over and then my computer wouldn't repair itself or start up.Out of desparation, I took it to the apple store. I found the hardware was good, they reinstalled a fresh OS and wiped everything clean. I backed up from time machine, everything seemed aok, but no such luck, things are not good with CC products.
Currently, I cannot open Photoshop CC "Could ot initialize photoshop because of a program error" even after removing, cleaning and reinstalling it.
I can get Adobe Acrobat 9.0 Pro to open a pdf file for a second, it then shuts down and tells me "Adobe Acrobat was installed as a part of a suite. To enable Adobe Acrobat, start another componant of this suite (such as photoshop)"-even while Illustrator CC is open and working (the only CC application that hasn't had problems.
my ps is actin real weirdly since past couple of days or so. It doesn't let me get in and kicks me back to the desktop whenever i try to open it.
View 2 Replies View Relatedi have photoshop cs and i can select color but the color i select, doesn't draw on the blank canvas. i only have white, gray, black... i know there is a setting somewhere that i dont have turned on but i cant remember,
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have an old version of the creative suite that is all right for what I do (information for a charitable organisation for medical research) installed in 2008. For quite a while now every once in a while when I start up I get a screen asking me to register. But since I already am registered Adobe just said to click on later and go on working. But this morning the screen is empty so I can't click anywhere. I've tried restarting and even turning off the computer and trying to restart my day.
View 2 Replies View RelatedSince yesterday my photoshop CC 64 bits does not start aymore with an error message like "the internal file signature is incorrect." (it is a translation I use the French version).
My photoshop cc 32 bits works still fine.
I have the version 14.1.1 of Photoshop that has been installed a few days ago automatically by Adobe Updater. Since that day I had not used Photoshop so I guess it is this update that has corrupted something.
I am a new user of photoshop on a fresh new Windows 8 PC and I have not yet installed any additional plugin to it.
Everything was working fine. I've had Photoshop forever. I had to download the software again and reinstall Acrobat to get it to work. Photoshop works fine, however, when I download a photo that someone sends me and try to open, I get an error message.
If I open Photoshop, the image opens just as usual, no problems. When I go to the control panel and try to associate JPG with Photoshop CS 6, I can't. I find it, I try, but I still get the same choices and none of them are Photoshop. I've clicked browse. I've found Photoshop.exe. I've clicked "open" and nothing happens. It doesn't go into the recommended programs.
TIFF is fine. PSD works. It's only JPG.What should I do?
Why won't photoshop let me edit my photos I am a photographer and my photos need more editing but photoshop will open the tools but nothing happens with any of the tools!

the patch is just a small piece of the bg, so the rest of the bg should accept work.
I've tried selecting all different layers, and all eyeballs are on.
I have installed the trial version cs3. When I run the program it says, that the licence for this product isn't functioning anymore. I have to deinstall and reinstall or go to the adminstrator. I deinstalled it and installed it as a administrator. Same error. I am running this on Vista.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI reinstalled both LR4.2RC and Photoshop CS5 on a new drive. But now I can't seem to edit in Photoshop from LR. Am I doing something wrong? It worked fine before (except for getting the "Render in Lightroom" thing because of the differnece in process versions). Using Windows 7 Prof. Cntrl E no longer works and Edit in Photoshop is grayed out on the drop down menu. Both work independently just fine. A setting in LR perhaps?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am a Photographer and use cs 6 for a long time.I use layers with masks to use background foreground.Normally when i use this, the brush uses 100% too get the back/foreground, but now its not 100% anymore and i get a transparency of the layer (brusch stands on 100%)
