Today I run max (Maxdesign 2012 x64 win 7), and I can't use my toolbar "Named selection set" list.
I can use "edit named selection set" button, and create selection sets, but my list just show blank list. if I re-install max on top of existing one (perhaps this can solve my problem) do I keep all my UI, macros, scripts as is, or I must install all plugs and macro again ?
Running a imac, 10.84 OS. Downloaded and installed CC suites on June 24. Things seemed fine, but 4 days later, I am getting spinning beach balls all over and then my computer wouldn't repair itself or start up.Out of desparation, I took it to the apple store. I found the hardware was good, they reinstalled a fresh OS and wiped everything clean. I backed up from time machine,everything seemed aok, but no such luck, things are not good with CC products.
Currently, I cannot open Photoshop CC "Could ot initialize photoshop because of a program error" even after removing, cleaning and reinstalling it.
I can get Adobe Acrobat 9.0 Pro to open a pdf file for a second, it then shuts down and tells me "Adobe Acrobat was installed as a part of a suite. To enable Adobe Acrobat,start another componant of this suite (such as photoshop)"-even while Illustrator CC is open and working (the only CC application that hasn't had problems.
my ps is actin real weirdly since past couple of days or so. It doesn't let me get in and kicks me back to the desktop whenever i try to open it.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am a web designer and rely heavily on Photoshop 7 which all of a sudden won't open. . . all fonts load fine, plug-ins, etc. but it craps out in the initialization phase. . . . in other words the program disappears. (Win 2000 Pro, Pentium III, double 800 MHz processors, 768 MB Ram.) I multi task between Dreamweaver, Photoshop, word and sometimes fireworks and when things get slow, I reboot. A few days ago I put some new Photoshop 7 complaint plug-ins and tested the machine with each one or small group with no problem. Everything worked fine for a few days. . .
Then once it took a really long time for the program to open and the next day this occurred. I have removed Photoshop, moved the plug-ins and extras to another folder out of the way, rebooted and then reinstalled Photoshop to no avail.
Do I need to remove registry entries and other files? and if so can anyone direct me to instructions so I can get a clean install.
In the meantime I have installed Photoshop on my server machine and am working there and sending images across the network. . . a real drag. Issues like this scare me because short of getting a new computer, I am not sure what to do.
i have photoshop cs and i can select color but the color i select, doesn't draw on the blank canvas. i only have white, gray, black... i know there is a setting somewhere that i dont have turned on but i cant remember,

For quite a while now every once in a while when I start up I get a screen asking me to register. But since I already am registered Adobe just said to click on later and go on working. But this morning the screen is empty so I can't click anywhere. I've tried restarting and even turning off the computer and trying to restart my day.

I have the version 14.1.1 of Photoshop that has been installed a few days ago automatically by Adobe Updater. Since that day I had not used Photoshop so I guess it is this update that has corrupted something.
I am a new user of photoshop on a fresh new Windows 8 PC and I have not yet installed any additional plugin to it.
Everything was working fine. I've had Photoshop forever. I had to download the software again and reinstall Acrobat to get it to work. Photoshop works fine, however, when I download a photo that someone sends me and try to open, I get an error message.
If I open Photoshop, the image opens just as usual, no problems.When I go to the control panel and try to associate JPG with Photoshop CS 6, I can't. I find it, I try, but I still get the same choices and none of them are Photoshop. I've clicked browse. I've found Photoshop.exe. I've clicked "open" and nothing happens. It doesn't go into the recommended programs.
TIFF is fine. PSD works. It's only JPG.What should I do?

the patch is just a small piece of the bg, so the rest of the bg should accept work.
I've tried selecting all different layers, and all eyeballs are on.
I have installed the trial version cs3. When I run the program it says, that the licence for this product isn't functioning anymore. I have to deinstall and reinstall or go to the adminstrator. I deinstalled it and installed it as a administrator. Same error. I am running this on Vista.

I made a web browser based model library for our assets for internal use. Ppl could "upload" their stuff to this site, add categories, tags, etc... and it worked very well. Since we moved to 2013 dragging and dropping from the web browser into max is not possible anymore. The files that were cataloged in the system had a local file link to the file on our server. So you saw the image of a model, and it was hyperlinked to the file like "file://///sever/library/maxfile.max", and if you dragged and dropped that image onto the MAX viewport, it brought up the import/merge file dialog. Not anymore.
I have everything running in admin mode, and I can drag and drop files from windows explorer, but that`s a big setback compared to the browser based system.
I am working a small picture (190x250 px). When I add an image as a layer, the only thing I am able so see is the part of the image which is viewable from the image size (see attached screenshot). View 2 Replies View RelatedI added a shortcut (Alt-backtick) to invoke a script I had written. I seem to be able to run it once only, but only sometimes, and there seems to be come interaction with other shortcut functions that I can't characterise. The script starts with a dialog.

Usually the functionality of Ctrl-F gets clobbered also, and I also had an occasion where my shortcut executed the functionality of Ctr-F - i.e. I had just applied a drop shadow, and Ant-backtick repeated that function.
Exiting and restarting Gimp returns things to normal (but broken).
My script just adds an entry field to export-selection.scm so I can enter a filename for the PNG file.
Not sure what I did but Gimp is now showing up as 3 separate panels as it did in versions pervious to 2.8. How do I get it back to a single window?

Apart from the fact that I believe that this is a pretty strange decision to remove an existing feature… Any workaround for that (apart from installing cs5.5...)?
I need to somehow be able to export my slices to swf. As far as I know, the only option to export slices is via the save for web dialog, but this dialog only offers pixel graphic formats, so now way to use fireworks or what ever to convert them to vector swfs…

I recently had my HD replaced with a SSD, and still using the HD as a secondary drive on which I have my catalogue.
I got the beta 4.1 and it's giving me the following message when trying to uploading images (update collection) to flickr. LR 4.0 was working great. Is there a specifc forum for 4.1beta errors?

I reinstalled both LR4.2RC and Photoshop CS5 on a new drive. But now I can't seem to edit in Photoshop from LR. Am I doing something wrong? It worked fine before (except for getting the "Render in Lightroom" thing because of the differnece in process versions). Using Windows 7 Prof. Cntrl E no longer works and Edit in Photoshop is grayed out on the drop down menu. Both work independently just fine. A setting in LR perhaps?

O I thought let me try to re import them well the photos show up but they are greyed out like an already imported file is. how can I get these photos that lightroom % thinks are already imported to show up in the library.
View 13 Replies View RelatedIn the past few months, my ability to see the preview of a DNG file on my macbook pro (mountain lion - up-to-date) has been lost. I've been having some buggy issues with my computer, so this weekend I did an erase/clean install of Mt. Lion, and now I'm slowly adding everything back on. I have LR 4, and the CS5 creative suite (did all necessary updates last night on all software). I kept my fingers crossed that it's all I needed to do to finally see the DNG previews again. The major kicker is that I have access to all these files on another mac, with updated software, and I can view the previews just fine on it.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm on a Mac with Lightroom 5.3 freshly installed. It worked neatly for a couple of days when importing either from my iPhone or my 6D (from the card reader). Suddenly it stopped doing that. I've been through all the discussions and I've tried the following steps:
- delete the preference file (and re-start Lightroom)
- re-install Lightroom
- create a new catalogue (won't work either)
- checked the permissions (as in the beginning, it would tell me that it can't read my files - but they worked perfectly!), which were fine
- cleared the "recently used" file paths of the import dialogue
- re-booted my Mac about a gazillion times
- updated the RAW software
- re-installed Lightroom again (but having deleted pretty much everything from the HD that was Lightroom related)
It just won't work. But before I re-installed Lightroom, it would still give me the "error: can't read files" sign. Now, it simply starts importing (the progress bar starts anyway) and then it just stops at one point, not having imported anything. Lightroom doesn't freeze, it just doesn't do anything and the progress bar stops. I wanted to attach a screenshot to show you what it looks like right now, but that didn't work either, so whatever.
Here's the thing: it still works in Lightroom 4. So now I've been importing into Lightroom 4 and adding the files without moving them to Lightroom 5. But what kind of workflow is that? It's literally killing me because I've paid money for the software and I was patient enough to go over all the trouble shooting, but I'm really out of wit.
I cannot export pics anymore, when I press the export button the normal screen comes up but slightly different and NO export button...this wouldn't be because I only have 10 days left on the trial period would it?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have been continually annoyed, when creating a vector mask-heavy document, with trying to select vector mask points by dragging a rectangle only to find that it instead selects a layer higher up which has a larger vector mask.
The only workaround is to manually select the points of my mask or to drag a rectangle from outside the canvas, meaning I have to zoom out or scroll to the edge - sometimes annoying if I am zoomed in quite far.
I know that the move tool can be set to automatically select a layer, depending on what part of the image is clicked, but why is there not an option to turn this off for vector editing?
If you look closely in the attached picture, there is a spot of light blue on the player's helmet, that looks like a mistake (think it should look like the grass behind it)...though it actually may be part of his helmet.
Regardless, I'd like to take it out. My idea was to select the blue with the quick selection tool, then bring that selection out to the grass, select the grass with that size/shape of selection, copy/paste and then bring the grass selection into the blue part so it looks like grass in what was the blue part.
The problem is I don't seem to be able to move the selection without taking the blue with it (so it's not an empty selection and therefore can't select a piece of the grass.)
