Illustrator :: File Is Damage And Couldn't Be Repaired
Jan 16, 2013
i recovered several illustratior files form a deleted user in my computer, but a few of them cant be opened because a apparently they are damaged, i can see by the size of the file that they actually have all the information, im using a macbook pro and illustrator cs6 by the way.
We have purchased new iMac's to replace our current 5 year old Mac pros. So we decided that instead of reinstalling CS5.5, which was what was installed on the Mac Pros , we would got straight to Creative Cloud
Now, If an ai file that was previously created on the Mac Pro in CS5.5 with linked images(stored on a shared folder on a Windows 2008 server) , when that ai file is opened on the iMac in Illustrator CC, we get the error "Could not find the linked file. Choose Replace to select another file or ignore to leave the link unchanged". If you click ignore, when you check the link path for the missing images , the path is blank.
When I first installed Adobe Photoshop CS6 I was unable to run Photoshop or Bridge CS6. Photoshop would give me an error about "could not open a scratch file because the file is locked. If I ran either of these programs as an administrator they would run without issue, this led me to believe that there was a permission issue somewhere. After some digging I found out the both Bridge and Photoshop try to create a temp file (similiar to Photoshop Temp2777223910092) on the c: drive of the computer. In my case the user that I was logged in with did not have access to write to the root of the C: drive. Note that you run the program as the administrator and change the scratch disk location as that changes the preference for the administrator user and not the user that you are currently logged in as.
I first had to give the user that I was logged on with write permissions to the root of the C: drive. Next try and run Photoshop, you will get an error another error about the scratch disk and about and invalid or missing setting file. To correct this you need to have run Photoshop as an administrator, next you can go to Users AdminAppDataRoamingAdobeAdobe Photoshop CS6Adobe Photoshop CS6 Settings and copy Adobe Photoshop CS6 Prefs and/or Adobe Photoshop X64 CS6 Prefs to Users<your logged in username>AppDataRoamingAdobeAdobe Photoshop CS6.Adobe Photoshop CS6 Settings.
I've got a catalog that work fine in LR4.4, but when I try to upgrade them to LR5 I get the error, "Lightroom couldn't update the format of its catalog file because the file appears to be damaged." The catalogs aren't damaged as they work perfectly in LR4.4. I urgently need to update them to a new mac with LR5.
I use VB.net in VS2010 design some drawings in AutoCad2011, in .NET 3.5.I write a Class Library in VS2010 to draw some blocks in Autocad, and it runs OK.
Then I design a Windows Forms Application in VS2010 for some inputs, and call my program above. However, everytime I got error as below in my Class Library code.File not found exception was unhandled,
Could not load file or assembly 'acdbmgd, Version=18.1.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified.
I have recently purchased a new desktop under WIN 7 as well as Adobe Creative Suite CS6.My first internal hard disk is 2 TB, the second one installed is from my old PC, 250 GB.
I am getting this error when trying to save a file over an existing file using the “Save” command. The message is wrong, because the filename IS valid. This error is persistent. This error does not occur when doing the same action on my second internal hard disk. This error happens on files larger than about 1MB in weight.
What happens is that the original file over which I try to do the ”Save” command gets corrupted and lost.If I don't use the “Save as” command to save my work under a different name, my work is lost. The same problem occurs with both PS CS6 versions, 64 Bit and 32 Bit.
I made several projects using Edge Animate 1.0, all of them worked perfectly. But now I need to make some changes, and several of them are displaying an error saying that could not find the html file associated with the project, even though the file is right at the same folder. I opened the .an file in a text editor and checked that the HTMLFileName attribute is pointing to the correct file. I'm attaching a print screen of the error.
I wonder why image that imported to illustrator be linked, not included to Ai files like coreldraw does.In my office, other computers, their illustrator could read the linked image even the image file has moved to other folder..Why my illustrator CS5 couldn't recognized it? is there any setting I should change?
what can I do when I get the issue "Could not complete requested operation". I can't open or work with files anymore. OS is Mac OS X Application: Illustrator CS2..I has already removed and new installed the application.
I couldn't create DVD disk, or, couldn't create video file either. It would go to about 99% & then hang the system for hours (until stopped with Task Manager).
I had installed all of the updates, including SP2. I've uninstalled today & I will re-install in the next day or so to see if it works.
I have Photoshop Elements 10. It worked until I upgraded to Mountain Lion. Now when I try to open it, I get two error messages: 1: "Could not open a scratch file because the disk is not available." 2: "Could not initialize Photoshop Elements because the disk is not available."
My power just went out while I was importing files from my camera, and now it is saying that my catalogue can not be used or backed up until it is repaired, and it can not be repaired at this time, and tells me to choose a different catalogue, but I don't have a different one, what do I do?
Lightroom Catalog corrupt. Can't be repaired. I was uploading a photo shoot to Lightroom 2.7. A few minutes in, I got the following message: Lightroom encountered an error and needs to quit. There was a problem reading one of the Lightroom catalogs. I quit and started again but received the following:
The last time Lightroom ran, it shut down prematurely due to a problem reading the catalog. Lightroom must now check the catalog before proceeding After checking the integrity of the catalog, I got the following message: The Lightroom catalog "Lightroom Catalog" is corrupt and cannot be used or backed up until it is repaired. I clicked on REPAIR CATALOG. It looked like it was being checked/repaired but then I got the following message: The catalog "Lightroom Catalog" is corrupt and cannot be repaired at this time. I have been able to use a backup version of my catalog which is on my computer hard drive, but the catalog on my portable hard drive is the corrupt one. Why is that one corrupt, not both and how do I fix the corrupt one?
I tried to launch Photoshop cc, but this time instead of lauching, it stated this "could not complete your request the internal file signature is incorrect". I have used this program many times and now it has stopped working.
After importing 48 photos into a large collection, 46,000+ photos, and reviewing in the Library module, LR 3.6 crashed and reported a database error. It suggested repairing the database, but could not. The next window suggested an Adobe Technote, but the link was broken. I have a Dell Dimension E510, w/ 4 GB RAM, Pentium D 2.8 GHz, reporting 3.62 RAM and running XP Pro, Version 2002, SP3. All my HDDs have at least 80 GB of free space w/ the one I was working on with 464 GB of free space.
I know there is a recommended way to use PSE catalog backup to transfer a catalog to a new pc [URL] This is fine for when I have planned to move to a new pc.
But what about if the move to the new pc is unexpected (such as after a loss of the pc or the pc stops working)? In this case, I would have an up-to-date backup of the old pc (because this is done automatically on a schedule), but would not have an up-to-date backup of the built in PSE catalog backup (because it is not automated).
How do I use my regular drive backup to restore the PSE catalog to the new PC, whilst preserving my albums?
I have a new computer and want to move the databse catalog over. I backed up in PSE 9 to an external hard drive. I connected to HD to the new computer and tried a resotre catalog. I chose "New Location" since I was going from XP to Windows 7 and was unsure if there would be a conflict with file locations. I also chose "Restore Original Floder Strucure". Very quickly I recieve an error message "Could not restor file .xml". I have run Restore Catalog several times and each time a DIFFERENT FILE receives the error message. I then disabled Norton Anti Virus Auto-Protect. I then disabled several programs running in the background. Same problem. I then copied the Backup Catalog to the new computer and tried to Restore it from there. Same Problem. I have now run a Repair Catalog on the original file. PSE states there is no error. I want to purchas PSE 11, but wanted to install/restore the database with the same version 9 first.
Could not initialize photoshop because the disk is not available. What is going on at Adobe? How do I get into my cs6 now.
Problem since that extenede for the cloud has been coming up and I have just always quit and never subscribed now today the trial is over and i Have never used the trial and can not get back into cs6 for my work. No support from adobe until monday..
Saving a Photoshop file as a PDF for emailing to someone else has always been complicated by the number of choices to be made, and now it's become impossible. Every time I try it now, I get this message, and I have to send a jpeg instead. I've tried different files, trashed the PS prefs, tried different settings in the dialog box that pops up after I hit "save", but it is no longer possible to save a PS file as a PDF. Every single file I try to save has "a program error", for some reason. how to save a PS file as a PDF.
I just installed Lr4 on my laptop. When I plug in my Nikon D7000 and try to import photos, I just get a message "The following files could not be imported because they could not be read". Then it lists the file names of the various files. Message displays regardless if I try .NEF or .JPEG files. The photos appear in the library module, so I know Lr is pulling them from the correct place (camera). When I plug the camera into my desktop PC where I also have Lr installed, all works fine.
I have a particular set of images that I am editing and then trying to save as RGB JPEGs. I keep getting the message 'could not complete your request because of program error'. I am working on Photoshop CS2 on Windows XP Professional. The files will save as TIFFs and PSD files but not JPEGs. Photoshop will save everything else but not these particular images.
I have been using Photoshop CC for several months to export animations to .mov. All of a sudden it gives me this message - "Could not complete the Render Video command because of a problem with Adobe Media Encoder." what is happening, the Media Encoder seems to be working fine.
Was running the latest version of Photoshop CS5 and added a second quad graphics card and 4 more monitors. Now PS will not start and I get the error message "could not initialize photoshop because of a problem using the adobe color engine."Computer has 2 NVIDIA Quadro4 NVS 420 graphics boards with 8 Samsung SyncMaster 1920x1080 monitors. If I disable 4 of the monitors CS5 starts normally. I do not have to remove the added graphics card. When I extend the desktop again to all 8 monitors I get the error above.
when opening PSCS6 for work I get a popup telling me about my photoshop trial and that I have 30 days remaining? I have nad CS6 since it came out and paid in full for the upgrade from CS5.1 I did receive an email about a survey and sweepstake they wanted me to enter but I couldn't get the login page to accept my username etc.
If I uncheck the 'maximum compatibility' mode, the file size is 48.7MB. If the 'maximum compatibility' is checked, then it cannot save the document at all giving me an error message about it being larger than 2 GB.
I need to send this file into a printer and I cannot guarantee what version of photshop they are using, so I want maximum compatibility to make sure they can open it.
So, I tried opening this document that was originally created on a Mac. I'm running photoshop on PC (windows 8, CS6). I keep getting this error message on many of the docs that my friend created on his mac.
"Could not complete your request because it is not a valid photoshop document"..I've checked the document extensions.
when I used VS 10 and VS 11, I was able to enter special characters in Titles (captions) by pressing [alt] and the special character number. For example, when I need a ñ (n with a tilde on top, found in Spanish words), I pressed [alt] and 164 at the same time. However with VS X2, it does not work and I could not enter special characters in Titles. is this no longer available in VS X2 or I did something wrong in the settings/configuration of VS 12?
I am not able to open the tutorial files in the getting started tab. I get a script error "could not complete the operation due to error 800a01ad" for both the tutorials and the help files. I have Windows 7 64 bit SP1, IE 9. I am not getting script errors with any other web sites.
