Sep 12, 2013I have been having some PDF problems today. Well, one has PDF problems nearly every day, but this one's different. Attempts to import/drag and drop a PDF file into CD are accompanied by this optimistic sounding non-error message:
I feel like I imported the same file yesterday no problem, but can't be sure.
As an attempt to fix this I have removed most other PDF related utilities, removed and reinstalled both CD and ghostscript, but no luck.

Oct 21, 2008Each time I start CS4 I get an error message "Could not load the Adjusted Refresh module because it does not work with this version of Photoshop". There is no option not to show the message in future, and I cannot find where to disable the module.

Jun 21, 2011I cannot get PaintShop Photo Pro X3 NL to start up anymore. Windows Task Manager shows PSP to have started up - as a service only. In the meanwhile, I do get this error message:

(I'm running my PC in Dutch; so I translated it as correctly as possible).
This message appears from the very instant that I installed Corel WordPerfect X5 on my system, i.e. February 8, 2011. Then I uninstalled WP X5 completely. However, the above message keeps appearing, whenever I try to start Corel PaintShop Photo Project Creator or PSP X3.
In order to keep on going, I installed PSP X3 on a virtual machine on this PC (O/S: Windows XP 32 bits SP3 under VMware Workstation 7.1.4 ( under host W7 Ultimate 64 NL)). It works fine from the beginning, but this is not meant to be. Therefore, on June 6, I tried a fresh reinstall on PSP X3 on the main operating system (W7 Ultimate 64 NL). The problem persisted, as before. I then uninstalled ALL Corel applications from that system, went through the entire register and deleted all traces of Corel, PSP X3 and WP X5 applications. Expelled also all traces of PSI-Service related items (also from the register). Then I made a fresh reinstall of PSP X3, and it worked. Eureka ? Until this very morning. Same old story started all over again. So obviously I have not found the root of the problem. It must have been masked for some time. What is the source of the error message? And how come it causes PSP X3 to start as a service only, and not continue. Note: note even the start-up screen of PSP X3 does show up.
VideoStudio :: Recovery From Mobo-HD Failure
Apr 27, 2011 After a Motherboard failure and partial HD failure I'm attempting to rebuild and replace lost software.
I had originally loaded the boxed version of Video Studio 11 Plus and later did an upgrade to Video Studio Pro X2 via a download from Corel...previous system was XP.
From what I've read it appears that I will need to: Reload the Boxed version of VS 11Plus, and then download the upgrade version of VS Pro X2 from Corel's website. I can view my serial number of the VS Pro X2 on Corel's website from when it was registered. The new OS on this computer is Windows 7 64Bit. Does this seem feasible, or is there perhaps a better way.
Also it appears some of my VS Database files are still recoverable from the old HD. Should I be able to import them into the new?

Jun 1, 2011I am a user of Video Studio X2. I am having problems seeing video. When I open a project, it appears to open normally but when I play it, no video shows, just the sound. If I insert a video file onto the timeline, I get a message which says "Unable to open file" Below that is says "Catastrophic Failure" and in the lower left of the message it has the number [17101:70:2]. The exact same file will open and play normally in other players such as Windows Media Player.

DV Audio -- NTSC, 48.000 kHz, 16 Bit, Stereo.
When the rendering completes, a "Catastrophic Failure" error code comes up. When I try to play the video in VLF, I get the following message
"AVI Index
This AVI file is broken. Seeking will not work correctly."
If I press "don't repair", the file plays, but the indexing bar does not run along the bottom of the player. Obviously something is wrong, but I can't seem to work it out.
The input files are as follows:
Video Type: H.264 video, upper field first
Attributes: 24 bit, 1920x1080, 16:9
Frame rate: 29.970
Data rate: variable, 16,800 kbps max
Audio type: Dolby digital
Attributes: 48000 hertz
Layer: none
Bit Rate: 256 kbps
I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling, with no luck.

Dec 4, 2011when I run setup.exe for x4 all I get is what looks like an error window that is blank for an instant then nothing but the desktop . I am running on W7 Home Premium as admin. X3 is installed and operational also VS 12. Drivers and Windows have latest updates. I always try the install after computer restart.

Oct 3, 2011Recently purchased VS PRO X4.Firstly very glad that I did as it includes lots of features that I once longed for (previous versions I have are VS9 and VS10).
Cannot start the capture graph..I have read another post from a user who also experienced this problem but after reading the replies I could not find a fix for me.I have PRO X4 installed both on my notebook (for use when on vacation) and on my desktop PC.NOTE that I do NOT experience the problem on my notebook.
Today when I attempted to capture video (for the first time) from my Vidcam using my desktop PC I get the error.I am capturing to DV.I do NOT have any problem capturing from the same VIdcam using VS9 on the same PC.

Aug 28, 2011I think X4 is somehow creating temp files that gradually fill up the hard drive. Actually not so gradual: approx 3 GB in only a couple hours of editting.X4 crashed this evening, then wouldn't start again. I noticed the HD was full. I deleted 3 GB worth of microsoft stuff I wouldn't be using. X4 would then start, and I continued on editting, till it crashed again. Now the HD is full again, so I assume there is 3GB worth of stuff created since the last crash.
I have a 60 GB main HD where windows lives, and another 1000GB drive where all my videos live. Are there files created by X4 that can be safely deleted, even before the end of the project?
VideoStudio :: Upgraded From X3 To X4 - Program Just Won't Start
Jul 11, 2011Just upgraded from X3 to X4 & have found that X4 won't start -- I get an immediate Windows error: "Corel VideoPro has stopped working." I tried running as administrator with the same result.
Installation seemed to go fine & reboot went fine . . . the program just won't start (although X3 continues to run as normal).
Let's see . . . Vista Ultimate 32-bit, 4 GB RAM, 2.67 GHz Intel Core2 Quad Q6700, 8-10 TB hard drive space, NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTX graphics card.
VideoStudio :: Unspecified Error X4 On Start Up?
May 19, 2012When I open the program the start up loading image come up then an error box saying that an unspecified error has occur and I should contact customer support. What devices are involved and their mode of connection?: No devices really just trying to open the program on my laptop The Version of program is being used: x4 list all patches/updates that have been installed relating to that version of the program.: I just installed the 2nd patch after this started happening hoping it would fix it, I tried to install the first one but it didn't work. Details of the source files.: Not sure what this means? I don't really think it applies since its before I can even open projects
I use a windows 7 notebook, 4 gig of ram. This problem just popped up tonight, I am still able to open x3 on my computer though. When I did some lookin at the event logs, its showing that the problem file is the psiclient?

May 21, 2013I had installed Corel Videostudio pro X5 on my laptop which has 64 bit WIN 8 and was working fine . Dues to system error which had nothing to do with the VS X5 , I had to reinstall Videostudio X5. Now it is crashing upon restart with some error that has to do with Changing the Environment (this error stays on for lass than one s second and closes itself so I cannot read complete error message)

I'm using the ION "Video 2 PC" capture card and I have hooked up the 3 RCA cables (red, white and yellow) to the capture card and then via a USB port attached the capture card to the computer. The USB device is recognized in Source by VS X3 and is called "USB 2861". The Format automatically is automatically set to "DVD". The capture video icon is blinking and when I click it to capture, I get the error message "cannot start the capture graph". I tried to follow the recommendations at [URL], but I still get the same error within a couple seconds after clicking "Burn", right after the DVD drive spins up. Note that my media is Memorex DVD+R Lightscribe 16x. I tried selecting both "Maximum" speed and 8x. Same problem in both cases. FYI, my laptop hard drive is a SSD. I want to be sure this application works completely before purchasing it. The file I"m trying to create is only 10 minutes long and 426MB.
