I have been using PS Elements 6 for some time with almost no problems.Now however when I try to Burn a video cd from a slide show, which I have done many times before, it fails after making the wmv file.

"The movie files contain no video frames".
The files import fine in 3.5.
I am a user of Video Studio X2. I am having problems seeing video. When I open a project, it appears to open normally but when I play it, no video shows, just the sound. If I insert a video file onto the timeline, I get a message which says "Unable to open file" Below that is says "Catastrophic Failure" and in the lower left of the message it has the number [17101:70:2]. The exact same file will open and play normally in other players such as Windows Media Player.

When the rendering completes, a "Catastrophic Failure" error code comes up. When I try to play the video in VLF, I get the following message
"AVI Index
This AVI file is broken. Seeking will not work correctly."
If I press "don't repair", the file plays, but the indexing bar does not run along the bottom of the player. Obviously something is wrong, but I can't seem to work it out.
The input files are as follows:
Video Type: H.264 video, upper field first
Attributes: 24 bit, 1920x1080, 16:9
Frame rate: 29.970
Data rate: variable, 16,800 kbps max
Audio type: Dolby digital
Attributes: 48000 hertz
Layer: none
Bit Rate: 256 kbps
I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling, with no luck.
Findin that Lightroom 4 and 4.1 are not importing video/movie files. Without exception every attempt made has resulted in an error.
In many cases just the first frame gets imported and converted to a low grade jpg image.
The same files import cleanly in to Aperture 3.x without difficulty.
I have PSE 12, I am receiving the error message
"Online service encountered an error Error7. An XML parse failure occurred."
My Photoshop 8 won't load the organizer. (It will load the editor) It does this from time to time and usually, in a few days it works again. I have called adobe support in the past about this but they don't believe me. This time a week has gone by and I still can't get the organizer to open. So, I tried re-installing it from the disk. It uninstalled it and now, won't re-install it. I let my back up expire (as every few months I have to call adobe to get re-connected to it). Is adobe now blocking my installation? The installation gets to verifing and then deletes the files it just installed.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI cannot print photographic images with my desktop MAC (OS X10.8.4) from Photoshop Elements 9.0 to my new Epson XP-800 printer. Printing is not a problem with Word text or images from iPhoto- it is only with PSE that there is a problem. The problem persists even if I try using a cabled connection rather than WiFi. I have ensured latest software from Epson has been downloaded. This problem did not occur when using the same system with the previous printer (Epson Photo Stylus 1290).
rather than just a workaround of moving the edited PSE image back to iPhoto & printing from there (which admittedly does work but shouldn't be necessary).
when attempting to print images from elements 11 from the organisor to my cannon 4900 printer the print dialogue failes to create a preview image and then automatically closes the application. seems to happen when i try and print an image that i have printed previously.

View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen trying to print borderless the menu reverts to the smaller size. ie when selecting 5x7 it reverts to 4x6. Ditto 8x10 and 11x14 etc. The paper size stays the same, just the print size reverts and the desired size disappears. I contacted Epson twice and both times I was told it is a software issue, not the printer. The same thing happens in Lightroom, but in WEindows Gallery Live the printer works correctly which indicates the driver and printer are working correctly. I am using Windows 7 and had Elements 9, but Elements 10 came bundled with the printer so I upgraded to 10, no improvement.

I am trying to download it now and keep getting an error that says that Safari can't open the specified address because OS-X does not recognize Internet addresses beginning with "aam:". I have CS2 and CS3 still installed. I installed it as Administrator, per the instructions, but it didn't seem to matter. I do everything as the Admin anyways. I looked for those 3 files mentioned in the error, but they are nowhere to be found and I have system files visible. I've not called tech support yet, hoping to avoid that. I had one of 3 Transcend 1G cards result in complete failure, loosing about 400 pictures of Costa Rica birds. Neither the camera nor computer would recognize card after the shoot. Disk Doctors disassembled the card and hooked it up to test modules and ran multiple 5-6 hour tests to try to reconstruct data. Nothing worked as they said all the files were corrupted. This is the one disk that I shot until full with a Nikon D40X camera. Card was formated before use. I reviewed pictures as I shot and all seemed right.
They theorize that perhaps the card and camera did not communicate, but I shot at most only a couple of RAW format pictures over the capacity, so to me that does not seem logical it would corrupt everything. But not an expert either.
The technician said not to fill up the card and use smaller cards so you don't have all the shots in the same basket.
I am trying to install the 11.0.1 update, and all I get is a generic error "The Update Failed" with no details and no log entry. I have AV off, plenty of disk space, applications are closed, and all the other basics checked. Whether I download the update directly or use adobe updater, no go.
I'm using Vista 64-bit.
I have Photoshop Elements 12 and I was wondering how I can convert a video file into a gif. I tried googling it and I got confused. Google told me to go to file>>import>>frame from video but under my import menu there was no "frame from video" link. The only link there is called "WIA Support".

View 2 Replies View RelatedI was recently trying to RECONNECT some files on my catalogs when I noticed I couldn't reconnect a couple of video files. The files were .WMV and when I looked at the thumbnail, I noticed that there where two thumbnails "stacked" with the same file name, but different lenghts of time. I found the original video file using explorer and noticed that the original file is as long as the two "thumbnails" put together. Now, it won't reconnect the thumbnails to the video file. Why did it "split" the video file in the first place? How could I reconnect it?

After importing my media files I found that the MP4 files from a Samsung HMX-W300 did not have thumbnails in the Organizer and only the audio would play, not the video. All the other video files I had were ok. The Samsung files also played just fine in Premier 11, WMP and Quicktime player. why they won't play from within the Organizer? My computer is running Win 7 64 bit.

It's always a lot of trouble to view videos in the pse video player because it cannot play most of them out of the box. It cannot be set in full screen. I would like a shortcut like the image one, edit in alternate editor. It would be view in alternate video player, I would use vlc and never bother with the embedded one.
