Photoshop Elements :: Thumbnails / Some MOV Video Clips Won't Show Up
Oct 6, 2013I'm having some troubles viewing all my video thumbnails.
I have different kinds of video clips in my organizer, but it's only the MOV-files that won’t show. The funny thing is, that it’s only some of the MOV-files that doesn’t show up others do!
All the video clips are recorded with an iPhone, and imported to the catalog at the same time.Even though I can’t see the thumbnail, I can still playback the video clip.
I've already tried the following:
- Repairing the catalog
- Optimizing the catalog
- Restoring the preferences to default settings
- Renaming the "status.dat" and "psa.prf" files
My specifications:
- Installed Adobe software - Photoshop Elements 12 + Premiere Elements 12
- Catalog containing appx. 17.000 photos and 400 video clips
- Windows 7 64 bit

Dec 23, 2012I've been trying to make some GIFs but when I try to import the video frames to layers it shows a white screen instead of playing the movie.
All of them work on windows media player but I've heard that a lot of it has to work on QuickTime.
I've already updated the program but it still won't work. A friend of mine also told me that it might be the format of the video. Is there anything I could do to fix this?

May 15, 2012Is there a way to show more than just one thumbnail from a given clip when inserted into the video track? Currently in VS X4 I get just a thumbnail at the start of the clip and a blue bar after that. In Microsoft Movie Maker by comparison you get thumbnail after thumbnail from the various frames within the clip, I also see in one of Trevor's tutorials (bottom of the page) URL.... there's thumbnails galore but he may be using images rather than a video clip.

Sep 23, 2013I am using PSE 2. When I go to "file - open" , no files are displayed. This happens for any folder I navigate to in the "look in " box. I know there are files in these folders. If I manually enter the file name in "file name" field the picture will load. Changing the file type does not work.

Jan 1, 2014I have a Canon Rebel T3. I switch the camera's white balance depending on the lighting. But when i go to review the files, nothing in the metadata shows what white balance I shot it in. This applies to both jpeg and raw pictures.
It would be nice to see this info so I can compare which settings looked better.

When I open these files in the Editor and save the dited version, they show up in the Organizer, but I cannot get any of the others in this folder to show up. Mar 20, 2014PSE 8, Windows XP.I have a large file of photos of ferns. They are in tiff format. I have tagged them with categories and subcategories. Wanting a separate file of the same photos in jpg format I did the following:
1. I selected all the photos in the folder and went to file|write keyword tags and properties into photos.
2. I exported the 900+ photos to a new folder keeping names intact but changing from tiff to jpg
3. I went to file|get folders from files and folders
4. I found the folder and got it.
5. PSE imported the photos into the catalog first asking me if I wanted to import the tags. I checked select all
6. PSE shows the thumbnails but there are no tag icons and if I select a tag from the tags list, it finds the photo for the tiff photo but not the jpg photo.

Jan 2, 2013The videos are there, but I just get the hourglass picture. If I doubleclick them, they'll play just fine. But I have no way of quickly scanning thumbnails to pick a movie.
While we're on the subject of thumbnails, I can only see thumbnails for my pictures if I make them larger. If I try to make the thumbnails smaller, they just won't ever show up. I have about 1800 video clips (very few longer than 1 minute), and about 10,000 pictures.
Photoshop Elements :: How To Show Tags In Different Folders
Sep 15, 2012I have all my photos in many folders, subfolders and subsubfolders. Now I have tagged some, and when I then klick on the little 'binocular' next to the tag to only show pictures with that tag - I was expecting to see all photos with that tag as thumbnails regardels of their placement in the various folders. But no! I have to have the folder marked in the table of contents in the left hand side. So basically I have to klick through all my folders to see where I have some with that tag. I hope there is another way to do this! How can I see all my photos with a specific tag? I also tried the timeline (which by the way I have found to be amazingly useless) and there the bars are slightly color coded to show that there are some photos with that tag - but that still means klicking through a lot of the timeline and still only seeing the photos in a specifik folder at a time, instead of all pictures with that tag.
