Is there any way to have the sub folders show all the time? I move photos to the sub folder then they disappear and I have to right click and show sub folders again to add another photo. I have around 2800 photos to do this to.
View 1 RepliesI have a few folders that show no evidence of photos. When I Add Unmanaged Files it says that they are already catalogged or the file format is not recognized. When I open these files in the Editor and save the dited version, they show up in the Organizer, but I cannot get any of the others in this folder to show up. It seems to be working in the other folders with pictures. These are jpg files BTW
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have all my photos in many folders, subfolders and subsubfolders. Now I have tagged some, and when I then klick on the little 'binocular' next to the tag to only show pictures with that tag - I was expecting to see all photos with that tag as thumbnails regardels of their placement in the various folders. But no! I have to have the folder marked in the table of contents in the left hand side. So basically I have to klick through all my folders to see where I have some with that tag. I hope there is another way to do this! How can I see all my photos with a specific tag? I also tried the timeline (which by the way I have found to be amazingly useless) and there the bars are slightly color coded to show that there are some photos with that tag - but that still means klicking through a lot of the timeline and still only seeing the photos in a specifik folder at a time, instead of all pictures with that tag.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am trying to copy photos from one folder to another, leaving them in the original folder and have them show in the organizer in the new folder.
I find I can duplicate the photo and then drag and drop it, but each step takes literally a minute to complete (in explorer it is 1 second or less). To move a hundred photos one at a time to different folders would take quite a while.
so I tried to pull them in from the FILE button get new files and it won't because the photo exists in another folder in the catalog.
How can you have the organizer show photos in multiple folders, is it possible
Is there a way to have the organizer folders set up the same was as Windows Explorer? I have a main folder called Family with sub folders for all the years and in each of the subfolders there could be other subfolders. It wouldn't allow me to click on main folder and get all sub folders. I had to open main folder and then it shows all folders and sub folders separately. They are no longer nested.
Along the same lines, I wanted to create an album of Family with all subfolders, but that doesn't work.that is definitely a short coming which is why I never have used the organizer program, but just PSE for editing.
Every Time I select IMPORT on LR5 I have to "browse" and click several of the little triangles and navigate to the folder I want to import from. It seems to me in LR4 whenever I imported the File tree was left the way it was when it was shut down. I am not sure if I am expressing myself like I should it just gets frustrating becuase I am doing a Lot of importing from a Cloud source (dropbox camera uploads folder) and each time I have to browse from C Drive >USERS>USER NAME>DROPBOX>Camera uploads that is like 5 clicks every time I do it which is several times a day latley.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI want to show only the lowest level of folders in my LR LIbrary module. Used to do that but somehow got changed. Now shows parent folder, 2nd and 3rd levels. If I uncheck INCLUDE SUBFOLDERS it just gives me a zero photo count for the parent but still shows the folder and I still ahve to click levels to get to the photos. If I right click on parent folder....someone said to click Promote Subfolders......I do ot have this choice!

I have created slideshows that are linked through a URL to my website for several years now I have created them in 720p format and been able to veiw on my IPad 3, IPhone, Web etc. Recently however, they are not viewable - I get a play button with a slash through it. However, if I create a slideshow with the paremeters 960x540 it does work on the IPad 3. All these formats still work on my IPad 1, which makes me think it has something to do with the new OS?

It imports it flat, with every subfolder and parent folder listed on the same level, so my organisation is shot to hell. I'm sure it's me being dumb, (but in fact it's Elements being incredibly un-intuitive) but how to import an existing folder structure with many images, retaining the structure after import? View 2 Replies View RelatedI tired importing photos from one folder and about 300-400 of them weren't imported (out of about 1,000). I deleted them and tried again. Same thing. On the third try it imported all of them.My thought was maybe it's going to take more time importing images from my folders than learning to use the program. I can't learn the program if it keeps dropping images. I tried another directory of about 3,000 images but it only accepted about 300 of them. No matter how many times I tried, it would only import 300 out of the whole batch. These are good jpg files that all my other programs have no trouble with.

View 1 Replies View RelatedAlso the correct file name does not appear on the top line when I display photos. It's like something just came in and mixed it all up. It seems to have only happened to recent photos and the older ones I think are ok. I am using PSE 9. I recently had to switch external hard drives and reconnect my catalog to the new hard drive. But that seemed to be OK except for losing most of the tags on my photos. When I tried to import missing files (because they are still on the harddrive) I get the message that the files already exist. However they are not showing in the files they are supposed to be in. I don't know what to do, I have a very large catalog which includes lots of digital scrapbook downloaded files.

And when I open a file, the wrong folder name appears at the top of the display. It seems to have pushed files down through the folder tree, moving previous files into folders that are about 5 folders down. I was going to reinstall, but I received a warning upon "uninstallation" that I need to deactivate my access number, but I don't know how to do that.

View 3 Replies View RelatedUsing the "Folder Location" view in PSE 10, I have successfully moved all but one of my photo folders from a problematic user account into a new user account on my PC. One stubborn folder will not be moved, with PSE 10 incorrectly citing that "No files from this folder have imported into Elements Organizer."
I restarted PSE 10 multiple times, repeated the process, and even followed the instructions to "Right click on the folder and select 'Import to Organizer.'" The latter action, of course, imported nothing because the 3,000+ files in that file already exist in the Organizer.
As an experiment, I successfully used Windows Explorer to move the folder (don't worry, I undid the move before PSE 10 had a chance to disconnect the files from the Organizer) to the new user account. No problems with that temporary move, but I'm not interested in waiting for PSE 10 try to reconnect all 3,000+ files if I made that my permanent solution.
I am trying to sort through dozen of folders and organize them into albums. I would like to print out a list of those folders so that the task would be more manageable.
