Photoshop Elements :: 12 - Can Setup Watch Folders On Mac
Feb 11, 2014
Do you have to do this manually when you add new photos? On Picasa there were watch folders and every time you added a photo to it, it would synch with the organizer... I wasn't thinking this was a downgrade when I purchased it.
I am trying to set up a watch folder in PSE11 over a home-group network but each time I do it get an error " access denied" what is the correct protocal for doing this?
I want to make changes to Watch Folders. In Organizer
When I click on Watch Folders I get the following? "To enable watch Folder Functionality Please start the Adobe's Active File Monitor service from Service Manager (Control panel --> Administer Tools-->Services).
How to reenable the "watch folder functionality" in PSE12. It was working before but my catalog became corrupt (according to the tech in Tech Support Chat). I had to delete and manually recreate the catalog. I'm assuming this is the reason the watch folder functionality is no longer working automatically.
When I click File -> Watch Folders... I receive a pop-up box, "Watch Folder Service." The contents read: "To enable watch folder functionality, please start the Adobe's Active File Monitor service from Service manager (Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Services)
Is there a way to have the organizer folders set up the same was as Windows Explorer? I have a main folder called Family with sub folders for all the years and in each of the subfolders there could be other subfolders. It wouldn't allow me to click on main folder and get all sub folders. I had to open main folder and then it shows all folders and sub folders separately. They are no longer nested.
Along the same lines, I wanted to create an album of Family with all subfolders, but that doesn't work.that is definitely a short coming which is why I never have used the organizer program, but just PSE for editing.
What are the folders of my current CorelDRAW installation i can back-up and use them to replace the folders of a new installation so to retain all my settings (workspaces, customizations, shortcuts, settings, plugins, etc)
I need to uninstall and re-install my current installation
I just finished importing my photos to Elements, and was going to add the folder I keep them in to my watched folders, to keep them up to date. Since everything imported just fine, I was surprised to find that I got the following error when trying to add the folder:
The Watch Folder service returned an error: Access is denied.
I looked around the site using search and Google, and found a few other occurences of this error, but they all only show answers that apply to network shares. The folder I am trying to watch is not a network drive that I have to use a \serverfolder format to access, as the folder is located on my hard drive under C:UsersusernameGoogle DrivePictures.

I have a copy of Photoshop Elements 3.0 which I am trying to load onto my computer. I am having difficulty installing it. It tries to install Adobe Reader, which I already have. It detects that it's already installed, then stops the entire installation process.
I have pse11 and i've lost the catalog with all my photos. I was in "manage" catalogs and somehow set up a new catalog. It contains no picshow do I restore?
would it be possible to install the picture database for photoshop elements 12 on a nas storage? I like to access the same database from two different client computers (2 pse licenses).
I just got Elements 11 and it's not going well. The most severe bug is that if I click on Page Setup..., the print dialog becomes non-functional. Page Setup... and Print... buttons no longer do anything when clicked. The problem persists until I quit and relaunch Elements. Sometimes I can work around this by configuring everything in the Print window alone, but this prevents setting Elements options for custom paper sizes. I've already tried resetting Elements' preferences. All other apps, including the older version of Elements I had, print without problem.
I just downloaded PS Elements 12 (using the 30 trail version prior to purchase) and am unable to find the Proof Setup option in the VIew menu to soft proof my images prior to enlargement.
Having solved my problem of printing multiple copies, I now canot print at all. Page setup and print command are grayed out. Printer works in light room and pages. OS xLion epson R3000 Elements 11 Trial version.
I always work via folders, click on it and see images as thumbnails to then work from, but it decided today not to play anymore. I cannot view folders at all. which settings should I check to reactivate this function?
I just purchased PS Elements 12 to replace old PS Album 2.0. When I installed Elements, I assumed that it would transfer all old PS folders and tags, but it didn't. How do I move all these old folders over to new soflware?
I've had Elements 11 for some time and can't use it as I can't seem to find a way to import an existing folder structure of images. It imports it flat, with every subfolder and parent folder listed on the same level, so my organisation is shot to hell. I'm sure it's me being dumb, (but in fact it's Elements being incredibly un-intuitive) but how to import an existing folder structure with many images, retaining the structure after import? Actually thinking about it, I can barely remember how to import at all, I found it quite difficult to achieve and I think I might have drag and dropped some files?
I opened a file within Elements (originally created in Photoshop) that has folders within the layers but unable to expand folder or edit the layers within Elements? How do I work with the folder within Elements?
In our drawing office we use Inventor in a mining materials handling environment. Our output is mainly structural drawings where we require a bill of materials as part of creating a drawing. Whenever I insert a BOM in the drawing environment I get this table which is labeled in a foreign language (it looks like an Eastern European language) and the format is not as per the standard Autodesk installation setup.
How do I either revert back to the standard setup or do a BOM setup from scratch?
i've got an animated character and have just realised i need to put a watch on his wrist! I've created the watch but how do i get it to follow the wrist? i've tried using motion paths but the watch doesn't rotate to follow the wrist.
I tired importing photos from one folder and about 300-400 of them weren't imported (out of about 1,000). I deleted them and tried again. Same thing. On the third try it imported all of them.My thought was maybe it's going to take more time importing images from my folders than learning to use the program. I can't learn the program if it keeps dropping images. I tried another directory of about 3,000 images but it only accepted about 300 of them. No matter how many times I tried, it would only import 300 out of the whole batch. These are good jpg files that all my other programs have no trouble with.
Also the correct file name does not appear on the top line when I display photos. It's like something just came in and mixed it all up. It seems to have only happened to recent photos and the older ones I think are ok. I am using PSE 9. I recently had to switch external hard drives and reconnect my catalog to the new hard drive. But that seemed to be OK except for losing most of the tags on my photos. When I tried to import missing files (because they are still on the harddrive) I get the message that the files already exist. However they are not showing in the files they are supposed to be in. I don't know what to do, I have a very large catalog which includes lots of digital scrapbook downloaded files.
Somehow my Adobe Photoshop Elements 9 has been corrupted. The photos I added are scattered throughout several folders. And when I open a file, the wrong folder name appears at the top of the display. It seems to have pushed files down through the folder tree, moving previous files into folders that are about 5 folders down. I was going to reinstall, but I received a warning upon "uninstallation" that I need to deactivate my access number, but I don't know how to do that.
Is there any way to rename folders which appear in the elements organizer? When a do a right/click or Control/click while pointing to a folder, I see a "rename" option but it is grayed out.
How do I import 3500 photos in 12 folders to stay in their 12 folders when imported so I don't have to do that work all over again? I am not familiar with PSE at all so haven't imported my photos (with thumb drive) not knowing what will happen when I do!
I have my 14,000 items arranged into multiple folders on an external drive. I would like to move the entire set of folders onto my hard drive. When I tried to move the files, the individual files, not the folders, were moved to one folder on the hard drive. Is there a way to move the entire set of folders?
Using the "Folder Location" view in PSE 10, I have successfully moved all but one of my photo folders from a problematic user account into a new user account on my PC. One stubborn folder will not be moved, with PSE 10 incorrectly citing that "No files from this folder have imported into Elements Organizer."
I restarted PSE 10 multiple times, repeated the process, and even followed the instructions to "Right click on the folder and select 'Import to Organizer.'" The latter action, of course, imported nothing because the 3,000+ files in that file already exist in the Organizer.
As an experiment, I successfully used Windows Explorer to move the folder (don't worry, I undid the move before PSE 10 had a chance to disconnect the files from the Organizer) to the new user account. No problems with that temporary move, but I'm not interested in waiting for PSE 10 try to reconnect all 3,000+ files if I made that my permanent solution.
