Photoshop Elements :: Cannot Add Desired Folder To Watch Folder Service
Aug 17, 2013I just finished importing my photos to Elements, and was going to add the folder I keep them in to my watched folders, to keep them up to date. Since everything imported just fine, I was surprised to find that I got the following error when trying to add the folder:
The Watch Folder service returned an error: Access is denied.
I looked around the site using search and Google, and found a few other occurences of this error, but they all only show answers that apply to network shares. The folder I am trying to watch is not a network drive that I have to use a \serverfolder format to access, as the folder is located on my hard drive under C:UsersusernameGoogle DrivePictures.

Mar 7, 2014How to reenable the "watch folder functionality" in PSE12. It was working before but my catalog became corrupt (according to the tech in Tech Support Chat). I had to delete and manually recreate the catalog. I'm assuming this is the reason the watch folder functionality is no longer working automatically.

Aug 31, 2012I was trying to import my photos into the Organizer (PSE10) and noticed that it didn't accept a network drive as a watched folder.
My family stores all photos on a shares NAS drive and I would like to use it with PSE10.
Currently, I can only use PSE10 with the photos I import on my local machine, but I cant organize the rest of the pictures.
Is there a way to trick PSE to add a network drive to the organizer ?

Feb 11, 2014Do you have to do this manually when you add new photos? On Picasa there were watch folders and every time you added a photo to it, it would synch with the organizer... I wasn't thinking this was a downgrade when I purchased it.

When I look at Windows folders my system is as it was so the two don't match any more. Nov 10, 2012The Organizer and the Editor stopped working together in just 1 of my catalogs. It happens to be the catalog in which I have done the most image manipulations such as renaming, stacking, albums, rating, etc. Now, when I select a photo in Organizer and click on Fix, Edit, the Editor window comes up but the photo does not appear in Editor. The only way I can get an image into Editor is to pull it directly into Editor. Then, when I want to save it as a Version Set I have to choose File> Organize Open File in order to save the image as a version set. Other than deleting and re-creating the catalog, how can I get Editor to open the image from Organizer like it used to do?

I was scanning pics no problem last week then all of a sudden today I can no longer import with WIA support. At first the error message indicated that Elements couldn't connect at all. Now after a fresh install of drivers and updates for Adobe & Canon it interminably attempts to establish a connection to no avail.
