Photoshop Elements :: V11 To V12 Now MP4 Videos Do Not Show Thumbnails?
Dec 2, 2013Just upgraded PSE & PE v11 to v12 now mp4 videos do not show thumbnails in Elements Organizer, vido does play but no sound . Video with sound does play in output projects. Same mp4's on same PC work fine in PSE & PE v11? Have upgraded to latest version of Quicktime.

Jan 2, 2013The videos are there, but I just get the hourglass picture. If I doubleclick them, they'll play just fine. But I have no way of quickly scanning thumbnails to pick a movie.
While we're on the subject of thumbnails, I can only see thumbnails for my pictures if I make them larger. If I try to make the thumbnails smaller, they just won't ever show up. I have about 1800 video clips (very few longer than 1 minute), and about 10,000 pictures.
Photoshop Elements :: Thumbnails / Some MOV Video Clips Won't Show Up
Oct 6, 2013I'm having some troubles viewing all my video thumbnails.
I have different kinds of video clips in my organizer, but it's only the MOV-files that won’t show. The funny thing is, that it’s only some of the MOV-files that doesn’t show up others do!
All the video clips are recorded with an iPhone, and imported to the catalog at the same time.Even though I can’t see the thumbnail, I can still playback the video clip.
I've already tried the following:
- Repairing the catalog
- Optimizing the catalog
- Restoring the preferences to default settings
- Renaming the "status.dat" and "psa.prf" files
My specifications:
- Installed Adobe software - Photoshop Elements 12 + Premiere Elements 12
- Catalog containing appx. 17.000 photos and 400 video clips
- Windows 7 64 bit

Oct 9, 2013The files are Mpeg4..I just upgraded some PSE 11 catalogs to PSE 12 and all functions and tags imported fine. When I import video only into PSE12 organizer, it will not generate a thumbnail image. I imported the same files into the old catalog using PSE11 and the thumbnails will be created. I have even gone a step further and converted the PSE11 catalog after imports were made, and PSE12 will now have the thumbnails. Eventually PSE11 is going to have to be uninstalled.

Jun 2, 2012When using LR3 to create DNG files from my RAW files, those files would show me thumbnails of my image in Windows Explorer. I am running Windows/7 (64) and have installed a CODEC from "Fast Picture Viewer" that allows thumbnails from RAW & DNG files to be shown. It seems, however, that the thumbnails do not show for DNG's created with LR4.
To Remedy this I uninstalled the CODEC. Downloaded the most recent version and installed it but this did not fix the problem.
I then went to the user forum for the CODEC product and searched for my problem. I found a thread who's solution is to turn off "Embed Fast Load Data" when exporting to DNG and it fixes the problem. I tried this and indeed it did fix it. The responder went on to say ".....When this option is enabled the files created are no longer DNGs (just an undocumented private format of Adobe that no one else can read to this date)". This statement surprised me as it is counter to what I understand Adobe created DNG to be. Can I get some input on this comment as if true it is very troubling.
My second question is that I see where to turn off the "Embed Fast Load Data" in the LR Export module, but where do I do the same thing in the Import module when I'm selecting import mode "Copy to DNG"?
If indeed the DNG files created by LR4 are proper DNG files and this CODEC is just flawed in some way, any better way to allow image thumbnails to be shown in Windows Explorer?

Dec 10, 2012I am using Ements 10 Orgainzer and Editor. Suddenly, yesterday, every time I click on a picture in Organizer, it grays out and turns into a gray square with a broken gray photo shape inside it. The same file opens up fine in the Editor and the thumbnail still appears in my My Pictures folder. It opens fine in Picasa. Why this is suddenly happening? The files are .tif and some have been Edited and saved, including some with Adboe layers, but this should not effect the Organizer. Is there something that needs to be reoptimzed or done. It is making the Organizer completely worthless for me.
