View 1 RepliesI have successfully done 3 images on that tutorial but when I tried the tutorial for the 4th time, it could not smudge anymore. Certainly I have tried some basic troubleshooting hoping that it will fix the bug (saving the file and Restarting PS, restarting my computer) but it still couldn't do anything.
I have thoughts of asking the tutorial owner regarding this matter but I have doubts since I believe that there is a high possibility that it is the program itself which is malfunctioning.
Of late I've been having difficulty with trying to open some of my PSD and TIFF files from within Bridge. I have the same problem from the Open Recent sub menu under File. I get a notification that pops up saying it can't open the file "...due to program error." This is a fairly recent problem I'm having.
View 2 Replies View Relatedmy photoshop is acting really weird. i thought i ahd fixed it but i obviously havent. the thing is, my text size wont go bigger then 18px. and i have no clue why.
when no windows are open i can set it to whatever size i want, but when i click new file or open, it goes right back to 18px.
having some difficulty with the brush tool. I am currently taking web design with the centre for distance education and am trying to do a fairly basic assignment with photoshop. So, I am being asked to first create a layer with an orange fill to it. Then I am asked to create a layer mask, I am then asked to put an image behind the orange which I am then asked to use the brush tool with black to see through the orange colour and through to the image. I am having no problem with this until I am asked to change the brush colour to white and go over the previously bushed areas and restore the orange colour. When I do this nothing happens.
View 7 Replies View RelatedIn every version up to CS 5, I could use the direct select tool to select an element of a graph (e.g., a tick mark, an axis or a data point) and move it to another layer. This was very useful because it allows one to hide certain elements or, more importantly, choose which element appears on top when two elements (e.g., two data points) overlap without having to break the graph.
I can't seem to do this in CS6. Is there a new trick I need to learn here or has this functionality intentionally been deactivated?
I'm relatively new to Illustrator (I'm a fine artist not a graphics professional) and having some difficulty with preparing pdf files for screen printing positives.I passed some of my photos through Vector Magic anf got a 3 color vector pdf.I converted the colors to global spot cmyk. What I need to do is get each color onto a separate layer. I don't have a postscript printer and would like to have everything prepared before I take artwork to a print shop to get screen positives printed. For some reason when I go Select > Same > Fill color (and either cut to a new layer or select inverse and delete on a duplicated layer) I'm not getting everything showing up. It looks like the document needs to be flattened or something, though I have tried that with no effect.

View 6 Replies View RelatedBest practices for setting up systems in a lab environment. We have a lab enviroment of about 200 systems that access AutoCad, Inventor, Mechanical and others.
We need to have a customized interface come up when Autocad is opened by students.I have read that you can do this with profiles and workspaces and also with loading a acad.lsp file.
In the past we have just copied the Windows admin profile used to customize AutoCad to the default profile. In AutoCad 2013 that does not seem to grab everything. It doesn't seem to be the best way to do what we need.
We will also be moving to Windows 7 soon which will also cause an issue.I want to find the best way to do this with out having to deal with the Windows profile.
i would like to know if the ram setting slider in photoshop preferences/setting is meant to be for all the available ram in the computer or all available ram, which stays free from all other sametime running apps? for example, if i run osx 10.8 or 10.9, i use to run ONLY photoshop and no other app besides, so the finder would need maybe 2 or 3 GB RAM, and the rest is for photoshop.does the ram setting count with finder ram consumption or without?
my imac has 32GB RAM - so, if i set ram to 70% (out of 32GB) in photoshop settings, the finder can use 30% of 32GB, yes? anyway, it won't show "available ram is 32GB" in the settings, it shows less than 32GB would be available, so is this the answer to my question?
could i set it to 80% or 90%, when i only run photoshop (cs5 / cs6 / cc) and no other app besides? (only the 10.8.5 or 10.9 finder) or would this mean performance lags in photoshop?
Is there a way to make the setting of all the windows smaller and therefore have a bigger space area? I need Layers, Actions, Color, Navigator and Tools open at all times, but they take almost 30% of my work area.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm testing out Photoshop CS6 to see if there's much a difference between CS5, and i'm noticing that there's no Recovery mode in Camera RAW for my file, they seemed to have changed Camera RAW a lot.
Is there no Recovery setting anymore? I have been using this since CameraRAW essentials, which Adobe ended up purchasing so i had to use Camera RAW.
I have a graphic that is
C 100
M 100
Y 100
K 100
When I move this over to Photoshop it converts it to a smart object and gives the colour a profile of
C 75
M 68
Y 67
K 90
I cannot see when I have gone wrong in my colour setup.
We done photo shoot for our client, we received all pic from .CR2 file,We have .cr2 convert. i am not a familiar in .cr2 or RAW IMAGE . what is the fundamental setting done for RAW image or .CR2 image.

Digital files: 300 dpi

Round Dot
Save picture as RGB file, adjust excess colors before convert to Grayscale.
I Know how to make round dots, and I kind of know how to adjust color, I also know how to convert to Grayscale. But everything else confuses me.
How do I set the Shadow dot and Highlight dot?
And where can I change the dpi?
And how do I set the Line Screen?
I have Photoshop Elements 6, and I'm an animator. As you all might have guessed, I have to save a TON of frames! And every time I save a frame, I have to change the default format to .png (that's my preferred format anyway...) way that I could change the default for saving to PNG? Because changing this every single time is getting to be monotonous...

If you have different shades of red on a single layer but you want them all be the same shade and have the same CMYK setting. Does Photoshop CS4 have a tool to make the adjustment accurately by keying in the CMYK without filling with the paint tool?

Why does my color setting change on images set and saved in Photoshop 5 (MAC). When I use Camera raw to vignette my images and then save them and re-open them the color setting change and flatten out the color or is it just a isolated quark of my own?
If I open them directly from Mac OS X 10.7.4 and vingnette in photoshop not through Camera raw
I have photoshop cs6 but it has some problem. The settings file/preferences file reset automatically itself after sometimes and all my saved configuration is lost
I tried reinstalling and also deleting preferences file but nothing worked.
I notice that the PS default for on screen resolution - in the Preferences dialogue - is 72ppi. Is there any advantage or disadvantage in setting that to 96ppi which is the Windows default?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI upgraded my PC a few months back and I'm currently running the CS5 suites. A few weeks ago I started having issues with the CS5 suites freezing up and in some cases even crashing on me. I always run Illustrator, Photoshop, Indesign and bridge at the same time, as I'm constantly moving between program on any given project.
What I'd like to know, is if there's an optimum setting to use in the preferences for Photoshop 64 Bit Extended to it run more smoothly and efficiently, without the computer or program bogging down or crashing on me. Below is a list of the hardware I'm running, which I've been told is more than enough to run the CS5 suites.
Hardware & operating system:
- Windows 7 service pack 3
- EVGA X58 FTW3 motherboard
- i7 960 4-Core CPU
- GeForce GTX 470 Sli graphics card
- Corsair Extreme 24 gigs ram
- 3 TB 7200 RPM hard drive
Here's a quick tip where you can set the magnification of "View > Print Size" to reflect the actual physical size of your document.
1. Measure the horizontal viewable size of your monitor or laptop screen. For example: 13.75 inches.
2. Note your horizontal resolution. 1366 pixels for instance.
3. Divide pixels into inches to get your screen resolution per inch. 1366/13.75 = 99.3 pixels/in
4 In Photoshop's Preferences > Units & Rulers, enter this value under New Document Preset Resolutions shown in the screenshot. Save and close.
After that, when you select Print Size, the document and even the onscreen rulers will reflect actual size. Now with Open GL graphics cards being fairly common, the odd magnification needed for those results won't appear jagged.
