After installing SP1 2014 Autocad started to crash by loading DLL that contains Civil 3D libraries. In the same time Civil3D works perfectly. Is there a way to load some DLLs when starts Civill3d but not Autocad?

i usually get stock at this screen , usually what happen is i click "Continue" and it load the video screen and i start working but now nothing ... just nothing when i had this before i try to restart sometimes work sometimes it's just load me the Autocad 2012 "Non-Civil3D" .
View 7 Replies View RelatedI use a few material libraries I have saved quite often. I spent some time yesterday tidying up as well as creating new ones and saved them out.
However now they are not loading up any of the materials when I click on the tab in the Material Browser. The same libraries are working fine on the machine next to me (my colleagues machine).
I've tried saving them out on his as another name and opening a new material library, however they are still not showing up.
Im trying to xref an dwg. Autocad is crashing every time im trying. I have tryed AUDIT, saved in 2004 and 2010 format. It crashes every time...
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have problems loading a max file. The file has several containers with external content, and it started crashing on load after I created those containers.
I tried merging the file into an empty scene, and it works if I merge everything but the containers. I also tried merging the containers alone, and that makes it crash.
I need/want to use containers, because the scene is very big, and can be quite challenging to handle. I could try using X-refs instead, but I was hoping to use containers, since it seems like a good solution in theory at least!
I'm in the deployment testing phase of rolling out Civil 3D 2013. We're currently using Civil 3D 2011. We've done a moderate amount of customizing to 2011 to make it work for us - mainly in styles, but we did add a special pipe library because we still run into jobs that use clay pipe and other "non-standard"/"non-modern" items.
The problem is that we don't want to have redo the work to use our custom pipe libraries. At the same time, we want to use anything that Civil 3D 2013 starts us with in the "Imperial" configuration because we've not completed our customizations and there are new things that our default starting drawing doesn't know about (pressure pipes and railways come to mind).
So I'm wondering what the best method of merging the two libraries is. Can I simply look for files that are only in our 2011 pipe library folders and copy those forward?
It may stop us from creating pipes and parts in the future, because I for one do not relish the idea of recrating things everytime an upgrade happens.
We have loaded copies of AutoCAD Architecture 2013 on several workstations. We had tried brining over older profiles (from 2008)- which did not work, so made up new ones. ANYTIME we go into the profile settings to load a different profile beyond the default, AutoCAD Architecture (US Imperial), eventually while working the program will crash. We've wiped out installations of the program, registry and all, and re-installed without brining over any prior data. Same issue.
Even when using a seperate "default" profile us as (Global) or (Metric)- same issues. The problem with staying/modifying the workspace for the US Imperial is it will not load the complete menus with the MENULOAD command (only loads EXPRESS). If we work within the (US Imperial), no crashing, but again, the menus are not available within that profile for some reason, so that is not an acceptable solution.
I am having a issue when I open a drawing with a profile or a surface xreferenced into it, the profile drawing or the surface drawing needs to be reloaded every time in order for it to appear. This becomes very cumbersome when we try to publish a set and have numerous plan and profile sheets and then the profile doesn’t appear. We have six identical machines in our office with Civil 3D 2013 on them and out of the six two of them have this happen on a regular basis. If I were to go over to the other four machines, there are no issues when we open the drawing or publishing. Is there a setting in AutoCAD that we are overlooking?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've previously posted about poor performance across our WAN, and working with Toolspace open. I have suspected that maybe the drawing wasn't loading completely, so whenever I did certain operations, C3D needed to go back across the WAN to the server for more of the drawing, or maybe just to read some portion of the drawing file, where the request was getting delayed by latency in the server.
Anyway, today, I copied a drawing file to my harddrive and opened it. As expected, the drawing loaded fairly quickly, except for having to go out to the server to syc the references and xref'd drawings. But once loaded, everything worked the way it is supposed to. I can turn on the contours, and it just happens. I can open the drawing settings, and then close them, and I instantly have control back, all with Toolspace open.
Now, C3D may still be needing to go back to the drawing for whatever it is that it needs, but being on my harddrive, it can get what it needs very quickly.
My question is: Why doesn't C3D completely load a drawing into memory? We now have 64 bit systems with access to gobs of memory.
Can load or install a *.dat file into civil 3d 2012. i have a file form the army corp of engineers that will draw a structural shape in autocad but i can't seem to load the file in autocad or civil 3d.

In 2013, I had created screen menu layout for Lite Users, where I placed the old Standard and Express Tools Menus along the top of the CAD window, just below the Ribbon. To do this I would Rt. Click in the Grey area (just below the Ribbon and above the CAD window), and then be able to choose menus from the AutoCAD, CIVIL, or EXPRESS menu groups.
In 2014, when I Rt.Clk. in the same area, I'm not given a way to select menus to add - as in 2013.
Is there another way to manually load the Standard AutoCAD and Express menus to the screen, in addition to the Ribbon, etc?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI don't seem to be able to run a set of my custom programsn that I have been runnning since R2009.
I get the untrusted location dialogue box, the commands have demand loaded into the registry but when I run I get unknown command or nothing happens and no text on the command line.I have tried Rebuilding the code to target R2014 and also turning off the trusted switch all to no avail.
Civil 3D 2013, SP1.
Set STARTUP to 2, and make sure the Sheet Set Manager palette is visible.
Close Civil 3D, then restart it.
It should open in a zero-document state, with the SSM palette visible.
Now open a sheet set, and double click on a sheet in the SSM to open it.
When I do this, I get four "Unhandled Exception" dialogs in a row, then C3D disappears (crashes!)
When I attempt to import a PKT file from SAC, C3D crashes. This includes custom ones that I created as well as samples from the ADESK site.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've made some custom tool palettes that are on the network. I just have them pathed in the options, and set up as a group for users to access. Civil 3D is real sluggish when it comes to using these, and switching between the tabs, and trying to load them up. But Vanilla AutoCAD loads them and switches between tabs no problem. Is there a variable specific to C3D that needs to change to make it work more like it does in Vanilla AutoCAD?
View 9 Replies View RelatedAbout 50% of the time, when I take a screenshot of part of a pdf (using acrobat's screenshot tool) when I go to paste it into C3d, I choose paste special, and then image object, and the screen goes pale and I get the C3d has encountered an error and needs to close message.
I have installed the latest hotfix which was recommended after a save to dxf crash this morning but just had it crash out again with a paste special.
When this crash happens, it never asks me to send in a report.
I am using C3d 2013. the 64bit version, on Win7 pro 64 bit SP1,Intel (R) Xeon (R) CPU E3-1240 V2 @ 3.40ghz and 3.40ghz. 16gb RAM, and AMD FirePro V5900 2gb graphics card.
The computer should be able to cope, but I find that it lags if I just insert whole pdfs and I usually only need a bit of the image.
Is there anything I can do apart from always convert the pdf into a jpg first?
The crashing is consistent every time I try this. Here is how I replicate the problem:
- Open a SheetSet.
- Right click on the sheetset and select Transmittal Setups.
- Click import.
- Select a template DST and click open.
- Check a setup and click import checked.
Civil 3D Locks and an error saying "AutoCAD Application has stopped working" pops up and whamo. I have custom eTransmit settings and here they are just in case,

Lately, whenever Civil 3D crashes, my menus and ribbons would freeze, but my command line still works. It's like the entire user interface locks up. I'm able to workaround the problem by rebooting the computer and then recovering any drawings I had open at the time of the crash.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI recently upgraded to Civil 3D 2013. I am regularly crashing when I pick objects, usualy in the erase command, then type "r" to remove some of the objects. After I've picked the objects to remove and hit enter I get a fatal error. This is happening in several different drawings so I don't think it's drawing specific. Today it happened with the stretch command. I'm not sure if it's happening everytime I remove objects but if not it's quite often. A co-worker said he has noticed the same thing.

I am inserting hyperlinks in an mtext object using the following commands:
1. Within the mtext box, right click and select "insert field"
2. Choose "linked"
3. Choose "Hyperlink"
4. Type in the web address in the box to allow autodesk to load the website
5. Choose "insert link"
6. Modified "text to display"
7. Exit text editor.
When I exit the text editor, the program crashes.
We have a work station with C3D 2013 that has started crashing when trying to open the pipe network vista. We have to edit the pipes using pipe properties for the individual pipes. This makes it difficult when trying to edit a large network. The drawings work fine on other computers. It has something to do with the settings on this machine. What would be causing the crash when trying to open the vista window?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI've been trying to use the automated plan & profile production tools with 2010, but haven't quite gotten the final product I wanted so I've resorted to manually setting up my own "viewframes" to align my viewports with. However, when I snap to either the top right of my profile view or the bottom right of my profile view, Civil 3d automatically crashes. This makes creating closed rectangular polylines to act as "viewframes" around my profile view very frustrating since at some point or another I'll forget to turn osnap off and blam!, civil3d is gone. It only happens with split profile views and it only seems to happen at the right side of the profile. It doesn't seem to happen at splits. It has happened in 2 different drawings. It has happened with different profile view styles.
Update: It only happens when Node is enabled in OSNAP so I can Node and be fine, at least until the next day I forget to disable Node while doing something near a profile.
