AutoCAD 2013 :: Custom CUIx Menus Won't Reload
Jun 2, 2012This issue applies only to AuroCAD 2013 64. 2012 works fine.
I have three old custom menus I use regularly. They were all in the MNU format when they were compiled to CUIx.
Let's say menu1 has a drop down menu and toolbars. Menu2 has a dropdown menu. Menu3 has a toolbar menu. They are all located in the same folder.
If I load the three menus they work fine for the duration of the session. However, once I quit AutoCAD and restart, only Menu1 loads. I still have to load the other two again. This is annoying. I have created a Profile and a Workspace with the menus loaded and set both current. Exit and again no menus.

In 2013, I had created screen menu layout for Lite Users, where I placed the old Standard and Express Tools Menus along the top of the CAD window, just below the Ribbon. To do this I would Rt. Click in the Grey area (just below the Ribbon and above the CAD window), and then be able to choose menus from the AutoCAD, CIVIL, or EXPRESS menu groups.
In 2014, when I Rt.Clk. in the same area, I'm not given a way to select menus to add - as in 2013.
Is there another way to manually load the Standard AutoCAD and Express menus to the screen, in addition to the Ribbon, etc?

Mainly used to open a new document and make the layout background solid and non printable. I really like this feature since I work with the color white a lot, however I could not find any setting to start new documents with anyway. The macro creates a new doc and changes the layout setting to what I like, but when i run it with no documents open, the only menus i get are File View Tools.

Our old machines were 32 bit; the new ones 64 bit. I am having to load the 64 bit version of Map 3D fresh to all the stations (individual; not network)
I have set up custom menus and a preferred workspace on my station some time ago. I don't want to have to reconfigure everything from scratch.
What files do I need to save and how do I access them once I have reinstalled the new version?

Jan 13, 2009I am trying to load hatch files from StoneCAD. In the past I have been able to take hatch patterns from various sources and locate them in a file within AutoCAD LT, then use them without issue.
I have never touched a .pat file or written anything in notepad or word, just simply copied the .dxf files to a file on my computer and was able to use them through AutoCAD LT 2009. Recently I had to reload the software and I can't figure out where I would go to put these hatch files.

Jun 18, 2013I don't seem to be able to run a set of my custom programsn that I have been runnning since R2009.
I get the untrusted location dialogue box, the commands have demand loaded into the registry but when I run I get unknown command or nothing happens and no text on the command line.I have tried Rebuilding the code to target R2014 and also turning off the trusted switch all to no avail.
AutoCad :: Linestypes And Custom Fonts Not Loading Correctly
Jun 7, 2012One of our Autocad Map 3D 2011 users is having the problem that custom fonts aren't automatically loading anymore, and when they use a command that draws a line with a custom linetype it is always drawn as continuous. This is a recent problem and the fonts used to load automatically as well as the linetypes drawn correctly. It isn't a problem with the linetypes not being loaded in the drawing because after using the custom command they are able to go to the layer and change the linetype to the correct one fixing the problem.

Jul 20, 2012We have loaded copies of AutoCAD Architecture 2013 on several workstations. We had tried brining over older profiles (from 2008)- which did not work, so made up new ones. ANYTIME we go into the profile settings to load a different profile beyond the default, AutoCAD Architecture (US Imperial), eventually while working the program will crash. We've wiped out installations of the program, registry and all, and re-installed without brining over any prior data. Same issue.
Even when using a seperate "default" profile us as (Global) or (Metric)- same issues. The problem with staying/modifying the workspace for the US Imperial is it will not load the complete menus with the MENULOAD command (only loads EXPRESS). If we work within the (US Imperial), no crashing, but again, the menus are not available within that profile for some reason, so that is not an acceptable solution.
AutoCAD 2010 :: Custom CUIX Files Not Loading Images
Apr 5, 2013I have added a few custom autocad commands that are specific to my scenario. I created Ribbon (and Menu for classic mode) for these commands and they are working fine. The only issue is that these Buttons (Ribbon and Menu for classic mode) are not loading the images(icons). All I get is a cloud image for both commands.
I have used 16X16 for small image and 32X32 for large image. Both are bmp files. These are attached to the custom Autocad command that I am using. The commands themselves are working fine, except for the image which is not displayed. In short, what can be the possible reason for images not showing up?
AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Custom Tool Palettes Loading Slowly
Dec 16, 2010I've made some custom tool palettes that are on the network. I just have them pathed in the options, and set up as a group for users to access. Civil 3D is real sluggish when it comes to using these, and switching between the tabs, and trying to load them up. But Vanilla AutoCAD loads them and switches between tabs no problem. Is there a variable specific to C3D that needs to change to make it work more like it does in Vanilla AutoCAD?

Nov 9, 2011We have been using Custom profiles for many years. We have always had issues that just after we install, we have to reload the custom profile to get it in place. When I say reload, I mean we launch the program the first time with a /p <profile name>. (The path to our custom profile is in the string launch string.) Seems to default to a random profile, or something we don't recognize. The process here is we are pushing out installs to 200 users and don't want each user to set one of the defaults current, delete our custom one, reload our custom one and set it current.
Once the profile is loaded the next times opening all is well. Because, of course, it was last used.
What am I missing or misunderstanding? We see the profile exists in the registry before we reload. The custom profile we use is an export.
AutoCAD 2013 :: Expandable Dropdown Menus?
Jan 19, 2013I used to have an add-on called Xtabs that would make my drop-down menus (layers, linetypes, etc.) go all the way to the bottom of the screen. In 2013, I changed to interface to classic, so that it looks more like it used to, but the add-on does not appear to be available anymore. Is there a built-in way now to do this?

Sep 24, 2012I finally cleared enough space on my creaky old PC to install 2013 and once again am having trouble with that CUI.
The ribbon is useless to me, partly because it contains nothing relevent (most of the commands I use are legacy) and partly because this creaky PC can't handle it. My usual workspace is set to toolbars (some custom) and menus.
I exported my workspace from 2012 including all the menus and toolbars.
I imported that cuix file into 2013. Everything is there listed as it should be, but when I select the workspace and click apply I have neither toolbars nor menus showing (well I have a tiny toolbar with just new, open and save on it, and another that appears to be related to survey, but none of the ones I want or need.)
What do I have to do to get my menus and toolbars back? they haven't abolished them completely? This PC cannot handle the ribbon and my every request for an upgrade is denied due to politics.

Oct 31, 2012My company have some custom menus and some some lisps that are related to it.
to install the menus in r14 first we opel tools/options/Files then we add the custom folders under the Support File Search path then we load the menu and open the Display screen menu and after all the commands can used under the screen menu.
this also work under acad 2000 but cannot find a solution under 2010

Nov 1, 2011We just moved the Autocad LT installation for one of our users to a new computer and now when opening certain documents, we get the below error. The error didn't originally occur on the old machine, but after re-installing it on that machine, we get it there too. Is there a way to clear the error or find out which plugin we are missing? We have tried installing the plugins on the autodesk website, but weren't able to fix the error.

AutoCAD 2013 :: PGP File Is Not Loading?
May 29, 2012I have loaded autocad 2013 on several workstations. On one machine, I seem to be having trouble with the .pgp file not loading. Ordinarily when typing in "O", i get offset but for some reason, it changes my cursor to orbit and asks to "select an object".
This is only happening on one machine. Other commands work but customized ones do not.
AutoCAD 2013 :: More Than 10 XREF Not Loading?
Jan 29, 2013I need to load 11 xref in my project but seems like in autocad 2013 more than 10 xref is not allowed, it keeps on rejecting the 11th reference without prompting any error.
I have tried to save the drawings in lower version and do the same procedure and it works, i therefore conclude that the issue is with 2013 version.
saving in lower version everytime we receive new xref is really time consuming and painful for hundred of drawings.

Apr 23, 2013I recently downloaded the student version of Inventor Professional 2013 (64-bit). I made some parts and ran some stress analysis simulations on the parts. I restarted Inventor after running a simulation and upon the reopen, none of the add-ins on the Environments tab were there and the Add-Ins manager does not open. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the entire program, even tried installing different model years of Inventor; none of the versions load the add-ins and the add-in manager fails to load.

AutoCAD 2013 :: Partial CUI File Not Loading Properly?
Nov 22, 2013working with 2014 acad and i have made myself a partial CUI. it is really only one extra tab on the ribbon with a few of the standard panels i use in one place. nothing to out there. so here is a step by step of what i did to get this cui file.
entered comannd CUI in command prompt.
went to "Transfer" tab in the CUI dialog box
on the left panel it is "Main Customisation File (acad.cuix)"
on the right panel i created a new CUI file.
then right clicked the "Ribbons" path and created new "Josh's Tab"
then transfered the panels across i wanted
then saved the cui as "Josh's CUI.cuix"
then loaded the .cuix file via the "CUILOAD" command
at first nothing at all happened, so i unloaded and reloaded it. then closed and opened acad again. still nothing
so i loaded it and unloaded it a few times again. so i went back to "CUI" and had a look at my partial and it hadn't saved anything.
so i created a new tab again "Josh's Tab"
transfered the panels again and saved the file then loaded and reloaded the .cuix
when i loaded it acad "blinked" while it reloaded all the CUIs and my tab was there but no panels. i had another look at the CUI and the panels are there but not showing in the ribbon.
i have done this from 2009-2012/13 (can't remember which i was last using) and never had a problem. i have been away from Acad for the last 16months though so i figure i have just forgotten one simple step somewhere. I have the current SP installed also.

AutoCAD 2013 :: Express Tools Not Loading Properly
May 16, 2013Initially we got an error message stating: "error: no function definition: VLAX-USER-PRODUCT-KEY".We did some trouble shooting ourselves with information obtained via several web searches, involving the following:
1) Adding .fas files from the Express directory to the appload.
2) Reloading the acetmain.cuix via menuload (had to unload it first, since it was apparently already loaded)
3) Removing and re-adding Express Tools via Programs & Features (Add/Remove programs)
4) Reinstalling AutoCAD 2014
5) Running (vl-load-com) from the command line (no effect)
6) Running expressmenu and expresstools from the commandline (says it's successful).
then we are now getting "error: no function definition: VLAX-MACHINE-PRODUCT-KEY"..The registry keys appear to be OK, and I am seriously at the end of my tether. I have pretty much tried everything I could find to no avail.
