My company have some custom menus and some some lisps that are related to it.
to install the menus in r14 first we opel tools/options/Files then we add the custom folders under the Support File Search path then we load the menu and open the Display screen menu and after all the commands can used under the screen menu.
this also work under acad 2000 but cannot find a solution under 2010
We are now running AutoCAD 2012 on our network. We had a third party come in a long time ago and write us a custom macro that generates specsheets for our product. The problem is it was written for AutoCAD 2004.
move that code from 2004 to 2012 somewhat easily. If not easily, at least tell me that it is possible without having to rewrite the entire macro.
I just got Autocad at home, and looking to take some work home with me over the weekend.
I've noticed when I open a drawing at my home computer, the font styles, dimention styles, etc are not carried over with the drawing.
best way to transfer a drawing to another machine and keep all the included formats, hatches, and everything else in the drawing?
I installed the trial of ACA 2010 so that I can review it.
I typed MENUBAR 1 to put the menu bar back up as all my staff use it and it will be required so that we can transfer from ACA 2008.
But I got the message "No menus are defined".
Why is this, I have just done a standard install I haven't changed anything...
Is there a way to Put / Tranfer Pull Down menus on the Ribbon?
Am I overlooking something simple?

We are a firm using ACAD 2011 w/ a custom toolbar that has an Auto Purge "tool" it currently deletes duplicated layers, reg ops, duped scales etc. we are wondering what else it can do (or any other tools that may be of use) or how can we get it to do more for us, like restrict referencing files from "unwanted" locations and any other tools that are essential to reducing the size of a drawing so its now so slow
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have two menus that I use often and I would like to add them to my mouse buttons. Attached is a picture of the two menus I like and the two buttons. The Shift + Click has the correct menu already (Osnap menu2) my problem is adding my custom menu to the CTRL + Click doesn't work. I labeled Osnap Menu 1 and 2, 1 being the custom menu I have use in the past and 2 being the default osnap menu that comes with the cui file. How to get the second button to read my menu rather than both read the same osnap 2 menu?

I cannot figure out the command line alias for "Text Height" to enter it into the macro.
I have tried the "scaletext" command but I cannot figure out how to add this command to the "Chprop" command on the macro line. The command seems to stop before performing both actions. What am I missing? Here is the button macro so far ^C^Cchprop;la;GasAban;c;g;;scaletext;c;s;12;;
Ok over the years here they currentley have lots of differnt custom linetypes scattered over lots of drawings. What I am trying to achieve is to drive some standardization here
So what i want to do is create a series of standard drawings with various custom linetypes
So using design centre i can drag and drop linetypes into a standard drawing but what i really want to do is export these custom linetypes into a .lin file
is it possible to do this ?
I have some custom texts that I use. A week or two ago they started showing up looking different and certain symbols like ' weren't showing correctly (they were displaying ? instead).
When I went into Text Style, sure enough the style being used was pointing to a file that either didn't exist or wasn't the proper format. An example is that my HS text was pointing to the Font Name HS.TTF instead of Helvetica 53 Extended which is installed as one of my Windows Fonts. When I changed the Font Name to Helvetica 53 Extended everything looked okay again.
My problem is that even after hitting apply to this change and closing the Text Style form when I open a new drawing HS text is set back to HS.TTF and not displaying properly. How do I go about permanently changing this value back to what it should be, and how did it get changed in the first place?
I am trying to move to a new computer and when I try to export the settings from my old computer using the 'Export AutoCAD 2012 Settings' command I get the following:
An error occured during the xport process. Please try again.
ERROR: There was am error generating the XML file.

Otherwise, I have no problems with AutoCAD. I cannot work without my own AutoCAD setup?
I can add the SNCL-MMG tab in all the standard Workspace.
After that I save in a new profile.
In this computer it's ok.
My custom CUI is an Enterprise CUI.
But when I go to another computer and install my custom menu using my profile saved.
I didn't see the tab I need in all standard Workspace.
Autocad add my custom workspace and everything is fine on my custom workspace.
I am changing from AutoCAD 2011 to 2012. I created a custom tab in AutoCAD 2011 with custom panels that had all the buttons I use most often. Despite saving the workspace and the profile as I was told, it hasn't shown up in 2012.
How can I get my custom tab to show up in the 2012 ribbon, without recreating it from scratch?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI spent quite a bit of time a while back creating a custom tab panel, which displayed a collection of Lisp macros and other commands. It was set up to roll up out of sight when not needed, to give me back on-screen real estate. It has now vanished for no apparent reason. I am the only person using this machine, so I don't think it's related to any issue with changing profiles.
When I take a look inside the CUI interface I see that this tab and panel are configured with a "yes", indicating that they should be shown as part of my workspace. I've unlocked the on-screen CUI display before going to the CUI dialogue. I've also manually turned off the display of this tab and panel, then turned them on and hit "apply", before exiting the dialogue, all of this to no avail.
It took me a long time & effort to add all 190 custom sheet set properties (Our Frame/template is complex). When i found out that I could not re-order the sheet set custom properties I was really pleased.
My problem;
I'm trying to add a FIELD with some of the sheet set custom properties. Why are the field not seing ANY of the 190 properties I added to my sheet set? see picture
I really love all of thoses fancy new feature Autodesk add year after year, I mean, you know, NURBS modeling & stuff... Trully great work Autodesk!
I have a call out block that I am trying to link to my custom fields in my sheet set manager. When I put the block into paper space the fields fill in properly and if I make changes to the field in the SSM then the block updates properly. If I insert the block into model space the fields come in as if they are broken and you cannot reference the data in the SSM. The issue is that I don't want to do my annotation in paperspace, so is there a way to change the interaction between my block with the custom fields and the SSM.

View 4 Replies View RelatedIn 2012, when I click on a viewport and try and to change the scale, in either quick properties or the properties window custom scale. AutoCAD only allows the standard scale settings, not a custom one. I think this is just a matter of some setting, but do not recall it.

When I do the exact same thing in AutoCAD Civil 3D, it freezes up and won't let me do anyting, I then hit esc and I can start working in the drawing again.

I just started working for a new employer as a 2012 AUTCAD Tech: they have only used old school DTEXT for everything (what a pain compared to multi-text "MTEXT").
Problem: I converted several single line Dtext to Mtext (.075 test height) paragraphs but can not achieve the same spacing they have been using (.225) because .025 is not an availalbe increment in the parapgrah & line spacing selection. Is there a way or a LISP that will allow me to add custom spacing choices to the Line/Paragraph spacing default list?
Then I can upgrade so much and work faster, yet maintain the standard spacing already set via snap grid settings.
I'd like to create a new Menu which will contain few custom tools (ie. place text with particular font type, scale and justification)..I tried to import my customized menu from AutoCAD 2007 but that wasn't successful.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI just had to rebuild a large toolbar after upgrading to Autocad 2011. I had to scroll through the old version's MNU file to locate and extract the information. Then I had to copy/paste the information from the text to the new toolbar. Luckily I had the Icon bitmaps saved and didn't have to recreate them.
Is there a way to export the code from a custom toolbar that can then be imported into another version or copy of Autocad?
I try to created new multi leader style with custom block but I don't see my block on list.

I created a command that I no longer use. I actually made a spelling error upon creating it "SUPECLOSE" and I want to delete it.
This is how I created this command: I typed in ALIASEDIT in order to add a new alias to a command.
I then clicked on the "Add" button.
In the "Alias:" field, I typed in "xx"
And in the "AutoCAD Command:" field, I typed in "SUPECLOSE" - which isn't actually an autoCAD command. "SUPERCLOSE" is the command I use to run a custom LISP routine that I created. Upon hitting pressing "OK" to this, AutoCAD prompted me with: "'SUPECLOSE' is a new command, Do you want to add this to your list of commands?"
I said yes. And then shortly afterwards realized the spelling error I had made. Problem is...I don't know how to access this list and delete the new command that I had just created (which does nothing).
I'd like to make a custom linetype that is a the standard DASHDOT linetype, but with a small circle drawn on the ends of the line or arc (and only at the ends).

I have tried using a shape, the special Wingding character but cannot get the result I want. I've tried the hatching method, again with no luck. I've went through the discussion groups, online content, etc. but cannot get it to generate the line the way I want. I see a few people that have been successful but I cannot get it to work.
