Last night i closed down my cad as per usual but this morning fired it up and my pulldown menus are missing-file,tools etc. The only one left if ltxpress which has been on my system for months now. I have turned my system off and rebooted but still missing.
View 6 Replies View RelatedCreated some pulldowns and icons to go along with the new commands. Put the cui files on the server for everyone. Question is ... How/Can I make the icons go with them. Are they associated with the CUI automatically. Guy at work is running MEP and everyone else is running plan old cad. They are not showing up on his. Is there a way I can fix this?
View 1 Replies View RelatedThe pulldown menus listed in the CUI are File, Edit, View, Insert, Format, Window, and Help. The menu bar has one pulldown menu: Express. How do I make the pulldown menus listed in the CUI appear on the menu bar? Sure wish it was as easy and obvious as "drag them there".
View 5 Replies View RelatedThis problem has happened before with CS6 but it popped up again this week during a very simple edit....and it's making me nuts. For example, I was working on a short 5-minute video with a series of short clips (XDCAM EX originally) strung together with simple titles and some Gaussian blurs dropped onto short title card clips. After a few minutes of "normal" response from my Mac Pro (3,1 Dual QuadCore, 16 GB RAM), the program will stop responding to keyboard commands such as Play and Stop via the Spacebar. If I happen to go up to the Menu Bar and click on one of the pulldown Menu items, the pulldown will only be visible as long as I keep the mouse key depressed. When I release the button, the Menu disappears.
View 5 Replies View RelatedLately, whenever Civil 3D crashes, my menus and ribbons would freeze, but my command line still works. It's like the entire user interface locks up. I'm able to workaround the problem by rebooting the computer and then recovering any drawings I had open at the time of the crash.

How best to take icons from the tool palettes into the ribbon menu ?
I am currently going through the laborious process of moving my company tool palette commands into ribbon format.....it would be great to find a quick way to grab our custom icons from the palette and use them in the ribbon.
Granted this is a minor issue, but when Revit 2013 is opened, before actually opening a project file, if I click the add-ins or some of the other menus, they don't appear in the right spot. See attachment as an example.
View 9 Replies View RelatedMy company have some custom menus and some some lisps that are related to it.
to install the menus in r14 first we opel tools/options/Files then we add the custom folders under the Support File Search path then we load the menu and open the Display screen menu and after all the commands can used under the screen menu.
this also work under acad 2000 but cannot find a solution under 2010
I installed the trial of ACA 2010 so that I can review it.
I typed MENUBAR 1 to put the menu bar back up as all my staff use it and it will be required so that we can transfer from ACA 2008.
But I got the message "No menus are defined".
Why is this, I have just done a standard install I haven't changed anything...
How the actual file location of a drawing can be shown on the ribbon insert of just the file names. For example, file name BOM.dwg is located in C:custom---. Currently, the tool bar is showing AutoCAD BOM. dwg but I want it to show AutoCAD C:custom---.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI don't use MLINE much (and thought the command was DLINE) and wanted to draw 2 parallel lines. I found I could type MLINE and do what I want.
I'm trying to get used to the Ribbon and wanted to find it there, but after several minutes wasted looking all over the Ribbon, I never found it. The Help showed the ICON of 2 parallel diagonal lines but I can't find it anywhere.
Everytime I try to attach a Hyperlink to a dwg via the ribbon Hyperlink button I receive a FATAL ERROR: Unhandled Access Violation Reading 0x0000 Exception at e1e7b028h.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've been trying to incorporate my menus and toolbars into the ribbon environment. I skipped acad 09 so this hasn't been fun. I used the transfer feature in the cui environment to get everything I wanted. I go to 2d environment to check that everything is there and it appears to be there. I load my cui and I get my icons and menus but no ribbon. I have a big message that says, "The Ribbon does not have any tabs or panels currently loaded." I type ribbon to load, but nothing.
I've now messed with this enough that even with the base acad.cuix file I still don't have the ribbons.
How do I add the ribbon to 2010? I just have pull downs and tool bars.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI used to have my ribbon and commandline next to each other but now whenever I try and put them back next to each other it always ends up with one on top or one on the bottom. I added a picture to try and explain this!
View 1 Replies View RelatedI rearranged the order of the panels of the "Home" tab to suit the way I like them to be. When i come in for work and open AutoCAD for the first time, or even if I need to shut it down and open it back up, not only does AutoCAD not start in my profile, but when I do set my profile to current, all of the panels rearrange themselves into default location. I even went into the 'Tools> Customize> Interface' menu to change the order the panels are set in there, but it still doesn't work. Everyday, I need to manually change their locations.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a lot of tools with separate installers. But the ribbon- panels merge in one ribbon-tab.
View 4 Replies View RelatedOK, something I did completely displaced my ribbon from the default horizontal location to either a floating or dockable vertical layout. It's probably staring me right in the face but how can I change it back?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI work at a place where we use autocad, everywhere... And I'm in IT and i've been struggling with this for a day now. I got 2009/2011 to work, but when i try to get 2010 to work, it just doesnt want to cooperate. Now when i used to start it up a proxy graphics thing would pop up, and i figured out how to turn that off, but then no ribbon loads.
So i go to the command line and type in ribbon, and i get an error:
"Unhandled exception has occurred in a component, in your application. if you continue, the app will ignore this error and attempt to continue. I'm old school trying to learn new school! I love using my custom toolbars and abbreviations from the keyboard for calling my autocad commands. I am in the process of learning the uses of the ribbon. I have always used the acad menu, then loaded "partial" custom menus. Is this still possible using the ribbon? Not sure how to do this. I like keeping the custom stuff separate, because we have 5 users with a standard company menu and I like the idea of always going back to the original menu. I suppose my question is how do I use the ribbon, and continue to use my partials also
View 7 Replies View RelatedI just installed autocad 2012 and I don't know why this happened after I opened it. I've already tried reinstalling it but it's still the same.
View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen I click on the arrow on the Menu Line the show ribbon choice is "greyed out" How can I fix this to display ribbon when I open ACA 2010.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI want to rename some ribbon tabs. For example in C3D I have an insert tab, but also a map insert tab, but they are both named "Insert". I would like to be able to rename one of them Map Insert instead of just Insert.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to get all our users to employ the ribbon and move away from toolbars and pull-down menus and one of the last hold-outs is finally giving it a try. Unfortunately, the titles on the ribbon panels is being cut short so he doesn't see the whole height of the title. See the attached PNG.
View 8 Replies View RelatedFor the last few weeks my copy of C3d 2012 has had what appear to be chinese characters pm all tooltips. This started after a network change here which resulted in everyone gaining a new user account on their PC.
I copied over all my old settings.I have tried adding font packs from the installation disk.I tried repairing from the installation disk.
Makes no difference; it's still Chinese (or what appears to be Chinese anyway). how to get this program back into English or is a reinstallation the only answer?
After reading a thread that seems related I also tried changing the windows advanced appearance options for tooltip fonts.Didn't have any effect.
When creating Mtext, I can't figure out how to specify a given height using the ribbon. Clicking on the "A" on the "Home" tab brings up the "Text Editor" ribbon and displays the Mtext editor in the drawing area. On the "Style" panel of the Text Editor ribbon is a drop-down box with a default height of 1/8". Clicking on this drop-down box gives the list, 1/8", 1/4", 1'-6", 1/8", and 3/16". It appears those are my only choices, but I need to make Mtext that is 1'-0" high. If I try to highlight the size selected in the drop-down box and type in 1'-0", AutoCAD erases my typing, replacing it with the 1'-6" choice (or some other member of the preset list). It does this whether or not I have typed text in the Mtext editor, highlighted that text, etc.
If I hover the mouse over the drop-down box, a tooltip comes up that says "Ribbon Combo Box - Text Height / Press F1 for more help." Pressing F1 brings up the Autodesk Exchange window which is blank except for a spinning wheel animation in the center that never stops. The promised "help" never appears.
Right now my only workaround is to create Mtext using one of the heights that AutoCAD has chosen to make available, then select it and change its height using the Properties palette, which may or may not be so easy depending on whether the height I need is very different from the height I was forced to use and the zoom factor of my view (the created mtext might show up as an almost invisible dot, forcing me to play "Where's Waldo" to select it). This is an almost unusable kluge. How can I set the size when creating the Mtext, not afterwards? How is the list of sizes available in the drop-down box determined?
My ribbon disappear along with my tool bars and all.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am having an issues that I am unable to change the properties of a selected object using the tools located within the ribbon. Instead I need to go through the properties popout to change them.
for instance, I seclect a line and want to change the layer from A-wall to A-door. I try to change it using the drop down layers located within the ribbon, but it does not change. however If I do the same only though the properties popout window I can change it.
Is there toggle that I accedently switched?
My Ribbon is blank and says, "The Ribbon does not have any tabs or panels currently loaded."
I have tried "reseting" my CUI acad.cuix file and restoring it and it won't work -- I heard that was the golden ticket to my problem; however, my ribbon still says it doesn't have tabs or panels loaded...I've tried restarting AutoCad and then reseting my main cuix file as well.
Is there a way to slow down the reaction time of the ribbon auto hide. I currently have the ribbon docked at the side of the screen with auto hide on. next to the ribbon i have a couple of tool bars. when i move across to the tool bar i sometimes over shoot and activate the ribbon which hides the tool bar. Ideally, iwould like to slow down the reaction time before the ribbon appears.
