Granted this is a minor issue, but when Revit 2013 is opened, before actually opening a project file, if I click the add-ins or some of the other menus, they don't appear in the right spot. See attachment as an example.
View 9 Replies2013 Revit ribbon bar is missing commands..Tried to install the update to fix the ribbon bar - however when I open the update folder on my computer it states
"The update release could not be installed because the expected Autodesk product could not be located on your computer. Make sure that you are using the correct Update Release for the product."
The update file that I am trying to use is called "Autodesk_Revit_2013-x86_Update2.exe".
I am encountering issues with the "edit boundary" tab on the ribbon, as well as "finish sketch" when the edit boundary tab DOES show up. i don't know how to finish the sketch without this, so i have to undo everything.

Lately, whenever Civil 3D crashes, my menus and ribbons would freeze, but my command line still works. It's like the entire user interface locks up. I'm able to workaround the problem by rebooting the computer and then recovering any drawings I had open at the time of the crash.

How best to take icons from the tool palettes into the ribbon menu ?
I am currently going through the laborious process of moving my company tool palette commands into ribbon format.....it would be great to find a quick way to grab our custom icons from the palette and use them in the ribbon.
I am a student working on a research project exploring the integration of LEED criteria with BIM software, and I am exploring the use of both Revit and Excel to accomplish this task. One major problem that I am running into though, is with Shared Parameters.
I have created a set of LEED-specific shared parameters in Revit. These parameters are things like "Plumbing Fixture Family," "Plumbing Fixture Type," "Ventilation Zone," "Refrigerant Use," etc... basically different parameters that will inform an Excel spreadsheet containing formulas to calculate, ultimately, the total points awarded for each LEED credit.
My problem, is that in Excel, the names of the values for these shared parameters need to be very specific in order for it to work with the formulas I have created. What I need from Revit is the ability to create a shared parameter with a drop-down menu containing a set number of options that can be applied to any component in a project, so this can be done early-on in Revit, rather than after-the-fact in Excel. Such as choosing the type of refrigerant used in HVAC&R equipment (and yes, you could just type the refrigerant type into a text parameter field, but if it's not typed exactly as it is in the pre-determined formula it is associated with in Excel, it will return an error in Excel, which is less than desirable - a drop down would reduce/eliminate the margin of error).
Is there any way to accomplish this task? From what I have found online, this is only slightly possible in Family Parameters - I haven't found anything about Shared Parameters.
All of a sudden my ribbon panels will not pull off... some refer to this as 'tear off'. The interface is not locked either.

I've already run the recommended "UIreset" process a few timesI've updated his graphics card drivers to the certified drivers for that card.he has a robust windows 7 64 bit setup. His latest example was in the DI command the context menu dispeared that lets him controls linear/alinghed etc etc.
The ribbon bar is greyed out. I am onlyu able to use a few options a couple of the bars.

In 2013, I changed to interface to classic, so that it looks more like it used to, but the add-on does not appear to be available anymore. Is there a built-in way now to do this?
View 1 Replies View RelatedAs of just a few hours ago, certain commands have disappeared from my ribbon. Example: when modifiying wall, i get no options for lines, same issue for modifiying floor shapes, i can get to the edit mode, but then i essentially have no options after that. Also, the check or the reject changes option has disaapeared.....meaning the only way out of the command is to undo. This literally has just occured within the last couple of hours. I tried resetting the ribbon, but nothing really happened exect locational changes.

Can I change the tab position on the ribbon so the application tab is always far right?

I have a user that isn't getting the modify tools when it comes to Profile modification or adjusting such items as curtain grids.
I'm aware of all the standard ways of hitting TAB, etc, but selecting the proper item isn't the issue. When the profile edge (of anything) or curtain grid line (unpinned, of course) of curtain walls are selected the tools for modification (add-remove segment, edit profile, etc) simply don't appear on the ribbon.
Where is the 'Create tab' located as not on the Ribbon? I understand I need it to get to the Family Types dialog box.

I finally cleared enough space on my creaky old PC to install 2013 and once again am having trouble with that CUI.
The ribbon is useless to me, partly because it contains nothing relevent (most of the commands I use are legacy) and partly because this creaky PC can't handle it. My usual workspace is set to toolbars (some custom) and menus.
I exported my workspace from 2012 including all the menus and toolbars.
I imported that cuix file into 2013. Everything is there listed as it should be, but when I select the workspace and click apply I have neither toolbars nor menus showing (well I have a tiny toolbar with just new, open and save on it, and another that appears to be related to survey, but none of the ones I want or need.)
What do I have to do to get my menus and toolbars back? they haven't abolished them completely? This PC cannot handle the ribbon and my every request for an upgrade is denied due to politics.
This issue applies only to AuroCAD 2013 64. 2012 works fine.
I have three old custom menus I use regularly. They were all in the MNU format when they were compiled to CUIx.
Let's say menu1 has a drop down menu and toolbars. Menu2 has a dropdown menu. Menu3 has a toolbar menu. They are all located in the same folder.
If I load the three menus they work fine for the duration of the session. However, once I quit AutoCAD and restart, only Menu1 loads. I still have to load the other two again. This is annoying. I have created a Profile and a Workspace with the menus loaded and set both current. Exit and again no menus.
I'm having trouble with the graphic interface distorting at random times in the top ribbon area. Graphics hardware acceleration is already off.

If I go into the CUI settings dialogue, I don't see this plug-in listed anywhere where it should appear. It had occurred to me that maybe the only way this app works is from the plug-in tab and not from the command line, but I'm not sure that makes any sense, either seems it should work either way, if I'm interpreting the documentation correctly. But, I cannot make my ribbon tab appear to check out my probably mistaken theory (see above). Navigating around the CUI dialogue and checking the settings for my tab, I see that it is set to "show" and there is every indication that it should appear, but there seems to be something buggy or suspicious going on with the

Acad 2013 32bit on XP Pro...I use the Ribbon as a palette.I'm creating a Dynamic Block with 3 visibility states (Plan, Front, Side).When I try to change from one visibility state to another using the Ribbon pull-down it keeps reverting back to the previous view.
To make it stick I have to use the visibility state dialogue box.
When I enter text in a text box it appears with the baseline of the type above and on the top edge of the text box. If I start with an uppercase letter it overprints the second letter in the series. The character window seems to be in order with all the spacing and leading properly identified. Have tried a reinstall to no avail. Using Windows 7 and PhotoShop8. This just stared happening it had worked properly for a long time.
View 3 Replies View RelatedWhenever I add title text which appears to be perfectly centered in the editor, some of it disappears to the right after rendering. To fix this I have to guess how far to the left I enter the text in the editor so it doesnt disappear. Is there some option which would allow me to enter text and have it appear as I enter it? The text is over the background of a colour and I suspect it doesnt like the fact that I am outputting the result as 16:9 which I thought vs pro x2 can handle.
View 14 Replies View RelatedRibbon has been acting strange. One example is when creating a sweep the ribbon will not show the mode options to accept or discard changes while creating the sweep path. I have to cycle the ribbon display options to show the X and check options to complete the sweep path. This is only one example of many different odd things happening.
Sometimes when I am simply drawing model lines the selection options for rectangle, circle etc do not appear until I cycle the ribbon display options. This only started in the last week or two.

View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen I installed AutoCAD 2013 in our labs here at Joliet Junior College I must have selected (or deselected rather) some of the components that enable the online Autodesk 360 features. When I look in our OPTIONS dialog box I do not have the ONLINE tab and ALL items/panels in the ONLINE Tab of the Ribbon are grayed out and disabled?
How do I go about patching/repairing the workstations to we can access the online settings and features?
I can't find the viewport panel that was in 2010 in 2013. I have a panel for model space viewports but not paperspace.
