a user i work with reports that during some commands (not the same) on some jobs his contextual menu dispears.
I've already run the recommended "UIreset" process a few timesI've updated his graphics card drivers to the certified drivers for that card.he has a robust windows 7 64 bit setup. His latest example was in the DI command the context menu dispeared that lets him controls linear/alinghed etc etc.
So all of a sudden my contextual menus in AI CS6 are acting weird. They always "flyout" to the right (or the direction of the arrow in the main menu), but now some of them are opening to the left. This is really annoying when you are trying to move quickly and are expecting that menu to flyout to the right. I have attached two screenshots showing the issue.
FYI. Illustrator CS 6 (Creative Cloud version) running on Windows 8
In CS4 when I scroll down items under a menu - eg Filter - last filter, convert to Smart Filters, Extract, Filter Gallery they all disappear from my screen - there just remains a blank screen under the menu filter. If I move out of it - say go to File then back to filter they are all there - until I scroll down again.
I was having trouble with the edit sketch options coming up when I initiated a command that needed it. I upgraded to Update 2 and It seemed to fix it. But now it's happening when when I select a floor. I'm not getting the option to edit the floor. The context options don't match what I have selected. What is the problem and how can I fix this?
I am running Windows 8. I have used multiple .NET Framework removal/repair tools, tried uninstalling all versions of .NET and reinstalling 4.0 from its official Microsoft standalone installer. However, every time I try to install 4.0, I recieve a message stating that it or a higher version of .NET is already installed.
Upon further research, I was informed that the .NET 4.5 Framework is an integral part of Windows 8 that cannot be uninstalled.
I cannot access any of the tools I need to in the program, so it is basically rendered useless (don't tell me to just use shortcuts because that is extreemely tedious and painful to make work properly, ive tried it). I have also thought about just installing Revit 11' and using that, but it is no longer available from Autodesk!
I am a student working on a research project exploring the integration of LEED criteria with BIM software, and I am exploring the use of both Revit and Excel to accomplish this task. One major problem that I am running into though, is with Shared Parameters.
I have created a set of LEED-specific shared parameters in Revit. These parameters are things like "Plumbing Fixture Family," "Plumbing Fixture Type," "Ventilation Zone," "Refrigerant Use," etc... basically different parameters that will inform an Excel spreadsheet containing formulas to calculate, ultimately, the total points awarded for each LEED credit.
My problem, is that in Excel, the names of the values for these shared parameters need to be very specific in order for it to work with the formulas I have created. What I need from Revit is the ability to create a shared parameter with a drop-down menu containing a set number of options that can be applied to any component in a project, so this can be done early-on in Revit, rather than after-the-fact in Excel. Such as choosing the type of refrigerant used in HVAC&R equipment (and yes, you could just type the refrigerant type into a text parameter field, but if it's not typed exactly as it is in the pre-determined formula it is associated with in Excel, it will return an error in Excel, which is less than desirable - a drop down would reduce/eliminate the margin of error).
Is there any way to accomplish this task? From what I have found online, this is only slightly possible in Family Parameters - I haven't found anything about Shared Parameters.
Granted this is a minor issue, but when Revit 2013 is opened, before actually opening a project file, if I click the add-ins or some of the other menus, they don't appear in the right spot. See attachment as an example.
I drew some internal walls before adding a floor slab. After adding the floor slab the walls disappeared in plan. I can see them in 3D, in the correct place, but not in plan.
The floor slab is in the right position. To fix the problem I redrew them all, but why did they disappear and how do I prevent it from happening again?
I click on my wall, drag the end of a witness line to a new point and the whole thing disappears, preventing me from changing the value of the witness line.I'd like to be able to add a witness line.
How come pieces of a model disappear when I try to edit the model? As you can see here there is a base to this counter. When I edit the counter in place, because it was modeled in place the base disappears? What's going on?
I'm have an issue where my windows disappear behind my tree outline when I print. The trees are default revit deciduous trees. I have overridden element to make it 100% Transparent. Also I have tried to override it in visibility Graphics. [URL] ... Is this a problem with Revit 2014. This happens with both our paper printer, our plotter and adobe pdf so we know that its not a specific printer issue. Also it only happens in hidden line mode when changed to realistic mode, the windows print.
I have attached views of a printed to pdf view with the windows missing and a revit view of the same drawing before sent to the printer. As you can see it looks correct in my revit view.
Certain exterior walls ghost out / disappear in plan when hosting a split face. This doesn't happen on all walls, and it suddenly appears on walls that were performing fine.
I"m using LT2011 on a WIN7 machine. After blockedit the cursor will freeze for a short period about every 2 seconds. When this is happening, there are also more disk accesses.
Re-starting the application stops this frustrating behaviour until I edit another block. Are there any updates that may deal with this problem?
As a very long time user of Paint Shop (back to the early JASC days) and using the program primarily for producing bmp and jpg files with lots of graphics, an irritation in later versions has been the need to 'flatten' the layers periodically while working on an image. In past versions (don't remember how far past) one could set defaults such that you automatically worked in a single layer. I don't specifically remember how this was done (only that it could be done) and have not 'rediscovered' how to do it in my current X3 version and assume it will be the same in my (on order) X4. Is there a way to default into single layer work?
BTW: I strongly second the dislike of the graphite color scheme so certainly hope X4 gets 'fixed' to allow one to get rid of it.
I also note that after using the pop-up that appeared in X3 startup to order X4, my X3 became inoperable and had to reload it!
Is there a way to get the same colors on the drawing when exporting to ACAD?
1. If I user ColorIndex the colors are transfered from RGB => Color Index 0-255 giving slightly incorrect colors, this is what I use and have a VBA match the colors in AutoCAd, but unfortunatley I have a family where some objects are "correct" colors, but some object in the family just get wierd color and whatever I do I just can't get all of them to have the same. This uses the layers and properties file to define some colors.
2. If I use TrueColors in the export only the objects that have true colors set in the override, everything else is white. This does not as far as I can tell use the layers and properties file to define colors not set in the view manually.
I would like to have the Exported DWG use the same TrueColors as in the drawing with in the Revit Drawing, but apparently it is not possible.
What Revit 2012 setting makes walls and floors disappear when rendering is selected?
I have a Revit 8.1 project that renderes the model just fine. When I import it into Revit 2010 it also remders the model but I have to reassign the custom finishes. But when I upgrade it to 2012 and render - the walls and floors are suddenly missing!
We're teaming up with an Architectual firm on a project. They use Revit 2013, we use Civil 3d 2011. They will have to save back for us. Will we be able to incorporate their dwg's into our dwg's and vice versa. If so, will the 2 be compatible with any issues?
Using "transfer Project Standards", I'm having trouble getting everything to come across, particularly the V/G Overrides Filters. They are included in the View Template in the original project, but are all missing after transfer.
how to print off a list of keyboard shortcuts in 2011. In older versions it was fairly simple, just find the "keyboardshortcuts" file but it's not that easy anymore.
Our company just upgraded to AutoCad 2011. We get files from our clients that exports their files from revit. It seems that Autocad 2011 slows down when reading this files (cursor will have a second or two delay).
Periodically Photoshop CS2 seems to completely reset itself as if I had just installed it for the first time. Mind you, I have everything customized just the way I like it, so every time this happens, even though I've saved my Workspace, it still comes up with annoying dialog boxes (Delete this layer?) so I have to reorganize again.
Has this happened to anyone else? I'm running Windows XP, 2 GB of RAM and lots of hard drive space left over.
I am using AutoCAD Architecture 2012. While using the hatch command, the contextual tab pulled up in the ribbon as expected. But when I went to pick an internal point AutoCAD froze. After closing ACAD and trying to open the drawing again it asked me to recover the drawing because of errors. After recovering the drawing the ribbon still had the contextual hatch tab in it although if you try and hatch ACAD will freeze again.
So as it sits now, no matter how many times you open or close the drawing the contextual hatch tab will not go away and is not functional. If you try and hatch the drawing crashes. I have duplicated the problem on multiple computers so I know its not a problem with my computer as much as it is a problem with this particular drawing.
