I click on my wall, drag the end of a witness line to a new point and the whole thing disappears, preventing me from changing the value of the witness line.I'd like to be able to add a witness line.

View 6 Replies View RelatedWe have one project were we can't add new witness lines to a dimension. We've checked it being pinned, Workset, etc. and can't find a reason for this. If you select Edit Witness Line, hovering over a most objects (including grid lines) won't highline them.
View 5 Replies View RelatedBeen using Xara Xtreme Pro 5 for several years and this is an issue that happens now. Parts of lines disappear in a drawing at different zoom levels. The drawing might look perfect at one zoom level, but if I zoom in from say 100% to 500% parts of lines disappear from the drawing. The fix is usually having to click on the line or zoom to a different %. I have attached a picture to show the issue. The hat on the left shows the missing part of the line (circled in red), and the hat on the right shows how the line actually is.
If this was happening in a pc game I would describe it as clipping. I'm on a Pentium 4 PC 3 GHz, Win XP SP 3 2 gigs of RAM. GeForce 6200 if this comes into play .
I drew some internal walls before adding a floor slab. After adding the floor slab the walls disappeared in plan. I can see them in 3D, in the correct place, but not in plan.
The floor slab is in the right position. To fix the problem I redrew them all, but why did they disappear and how do I prevent it from happening again?
How come pieces of a model disappear when I try to edit the model?As you can see here there is a base to this counter.When I edit the counter in place, because it was modeled in place the base disappears? What's going on?
View 1 Replies View RelatedHaving an issue where in a part model with the view set to "wireframe with hidden edges" the edges and hidden edges disappear when you try to zoom in on the part. Actually not working with "wireframe and visible edges only" at any zoom level either.
The edges are there and I know that there are features that should be showing up as hidden.
Running Quadro FX 3800 with the most current drivers, and I only noticed this when switching to IV 2014.
Also running IV Build 222 SP 1
This is making designing very hard as I can't tell anymore where there are instances of features interfering with each other.

I'm have an issue where my windows disappear behind my tree outline when I print. The trees are default revit deciduous trees. I have overridden element to make it 100% Transparent. Also I have tried to override it in visibility Graphics. [URL] ... Is this a problem with Revit 2014. This happens with both our paper printer, our plotter and adobe pdf so we know that its not a specific printer issue. Also it only happens in hidden line mode when changed to realistic mode, the windows print.
I have attached views of a printed to pdf view with the windows missing and a revit view of the same drawing before sent to the printer. As you can see it looks correct in my revit view.
a user i work with reports that during some commands (not the same) on some jobs his contextual menu dispears.
I've already run the recommended "UIreset" process a few timesI've updated his graphics card drivers to the certified drivers for that card.he has a robust windows 7 64 bit setup. His latest example was in the DI command the context menu dispeared that lets him controls linear/alinghed etc etc.
Certain exterior walls ghost out / disappear in plan when hosting a split face. This doesn't happen on all walls, and it suddenly appears on walls that were performing fine.

I have a Revit 8.1 project that renderes the model just fine. When I import it into Revit 2010 it also remders the model but I have to reassign the custom finishes. But when I upgrade it to 2012 and render - the walls and floors are suddenly missing!

I've been using XCLIP for years. Never had an issue.
Today I installed 2012 and found that the ability to stretch and edit XCLIP boudaries had finally been added. SWEET!....wrong.
I was working merrily along when all of a sudden my screen blinked, refreshed, or something, and 80% of the lines within my XCLIP boundaries just disappeared.
I closed the drawing and reopened. Closed ACA and reopened. Rebooted and reopened. Gone.
If I delete the XCLIP, it all comes back. Apply a new XCLIP, gone again.
Open the drawing in ACA2011, still gone. EGADS!
Is this a totally new problem???
It literally took less than an hour after installing to find a problem in ACA 2012. My Autodesk woes continue.
Beyond lines displaying for walls of floor below and cannot get rid of - view range is set with bottom offset at floor level, cannot override beyond line style and nothing else I can find to turn them off. Its walls, door openings (not symbolic lines etc.

I'm assuming (because I've found that it appears not to possible) that model lines must be assigned to a workplane and that "floating" 3D lines from a DWG aren't assigned workplanes and therefore can't be converted into Revit Model Lines.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a small residential project with corner lot sloping up diagonally from the intersection. The client wants to raise 'usable' surface of the site by introducing terracing - 3 retaining walls 3' high and 3' apart.
All is interrupted by a driveway and series of steps leading to the main level. I'm trying to modify existing surface, but the topo seems to have 'life of it's own' . I've tried to Split some surfaces to make life easier. That worked to some extent. How to make the topography cooperate? Is there a way to 'turn off' triangulation? ( not the visibility ) . I'm certain the contours I'm creating can be built, but Revit is 'changing' them to something else. Some points that I place are simply ignored.
I am using the default Revit break lines in a few of my plans, and they work great. But when I insert them into an RCP, the masking region does not mask anything. Tried send to front/back, copying, inserting new. My other masking regions will still work as they are supposed to, but this break line does not.

I have managed to get the main bodys of the building done and the main roof.The problem now is that when i switch too the east or west elevations to add mass for the roofs on the adjoining wings of the building it wont let me see the model lines when i draw them in the screen i just get an error message " None of the created elements are visible in Elevation: East View. You may want to check the active view, its Parameters, and Visibility settings. "I have my reference line set not far from the building and it seemed fine when i done the roof from the north and south views for the main building. I can see the model lines when i switch too 3D views but i cant create the mass from there.

I have atempted to make a line out of the wall and convert the line into one single wall segment but it always breaks back down to the geometry of arc+ arc+circle exctra is there a way to make the wall one single wall or to make a series of arcs into a single polyline so I can convert it into a wall face?

I noticed that on the first floor plan, this roof slab shows as dashed lines. How is this done? I tried copying/duplicating this roof, but dashed lines do not show.
I'm linking CAD files. The lines come in jagged. I think it is more of a graphics problem.

When loaded into a project, I cannot snap to the symbolic lines. I have run into this problem before but never took the time to solve it.
Or can symolic lines not be used to snap to?
On zooming in on a curve in revit, it is actually made up of many small straight lines. Is it possible to increase the size of these small lines?
View 2 Replies View RelatedMy firm has tasked, yours truly, with transferring the CAD Detail Library to our new Revit Standards. I started out by converting our CAD details to Revit and saving them in one file in individual Detail Views. The next step is to convert the line weights to the new company standard styles and widths. I thought it would be as simple as selecting an old detail line type then “Selecting All Instances in Entire Project” and converting all of those line styles to the new standard in one fell swoop (rinsing and repeating until all the old line styles were up to date). However, Revit doesn’t allow you to “Select All Instances” of Detail Lines (oops). We have about 500 standard details that need to be converted.
