Revit :: Dimension Lines Remove?
Jun 30, 2013I'm using revit for my college projects.. When I edit an in placed mass I see these dimension texts, i could use guidance on how to hide these... this started happening today

AutoCad 2D :: Dimension Texts Not On Dimension Lines
Oct 11, 2011I'm inserting dimensions and the tics keep coming out huge and not on the dimension line, in fact there's one on either side 20 ft out. If I change the drawing scale in the tab at a the bottom the tics get smaller and closer in, but they are still off the dimension string by a long shot.

Apr 22, 2009Inventor 2009....how to remove an Ordinate dimension (not Ordinate Dimension Set). It seems you can only make one per view. And you can only edit the dimension, i.e. the Origin symbol, but not delete it !? Don't know if there is a change from previous versions of Inventor to 2009.

AutoCAD Inventor :: Dimension Lines Won't Attach
Jan 7, 2014I have made thousands of sheet metal parts and their associated drawings without issue but this time, I made a part and attempted to make a drawing but dimension lines won't attach to certain geometry in the drawing. It acts like it will until I click the second line for the dimension then it errors, telling me the same error message that comes up when you delete a feature that previously had a dimension.
I also can't place an origin for doing a hole chart, for example. It just turns purple and says it isn't attached even though it clearly is.

May 17, 2012I have a problem with Inventor 2013. The dimension lines have disappeared. I've been through all the dimension styles and layers to make sure I hadn't turned one off
All other drawings are fine and if I create another even using the same model it works just fine but I'd rather find out why than re-do the whole drawing.

how can I make it automatically scale itself?
also similiar thing with the lines, I tried putting a dashed center line on a shape, it looks solid but when I zoom it it does not.

AutoCAD Inventor :: Missing Dimension Lines
Dec 13, 2012I have a template IDW that i use for bearings. When I opened it today I noticed that two of the dimension lines were missing. The dimension and arrows are there. I tried deleting them are recreating them with the same result.
The interesting thing is, when I created the dim above the part it was fine, when I dragged it below the part the lines went away. After that no matter were I moved it the lines would not reappear.
I installed SP1 a while ago and just now installed the update to SP1 (DL20857064.zip). It did not fix the problem.

Dec 27, 2012We resently upgraded to Inventor 2013 and since then we have been having an issue of dimension and leader lines being hidden under a text box or some other drawing entity.
This is very confusing since the text box does not have a white out associated with it, nore is there a way to put the test box to the back and dimension lines to the front...
It seems like our puppet masters that program this amassing tool where up to something and didn't quite get there.
IT sure would be nice (or an absolute requirement) that this gets fixed so I don't have to learn new hoops to jump through to get a quality drawing out of Inventor.

Apr 26, 2012How can I print a dimension with its arrows but without it's dimension lines?
For example--I draw a rectangle and draw a horizontal dimension across the center of the rectangal. Then I flip the arrows and drag the number to the left outside of the rectangal. I want arrows facing inward from the left and right and the number out to the left. I don't want a line stretched across the center of the rectangal.

Aug 1, 2012I am using AutoCAD 2010 and when i go to print my design to PDF or even to a printer, the dimension lines do not show up. I have checked my layers and the dimension lines are not on defpoints, in fact they are on layer 0. I have tried to create a new layer and it still does not show up in the work space, let alone when i try to print it.

Mar 5, 2013Im trying to move radial dimension text away from the dimension line so I can add in text between the dimension and dimension line.
#1 is the default style
#2 is what happens when I do "Move text only", it moves the dimension line to inside the radial and I do not want that.
#3 is how it looks when I just manually edit the dimension text
#4 is how I want it to look
#4 is a combination of dimension and a manually added leader with the dimension line removed. How can I move the dimension text on a radial without the dimension line automatically moving to the inside? Or is there another way to add in text outside the box while having the dimension text offset from the line?

Sep 18, 2012Making the switch to Civil 3D. I was previously using 2009, and I could add dimension labels by picking two points (endpoints, intersections, etc.) to get the whole line or just a segment. In Civil 3D 2012, I create styles and add labels through the annotate tab, but I can only selct the line or curve in its entirety. There must be a way to easily label portions of a line or multiple segments as one line.

Jul 31, 2013When placing a dimension with the text outside of the extension lines, it defaults to placing the text either above right or below left of the arrows. If you try to grip/drag the text to another location (i.e. below right or above left) it won't allow it. I don't know if it is following some standard, but in the example shown, I had to explode the dimension to position the text in the preferred location.

Jul 22, 2013I just created a dimension style called "Test" and I am now attempting to use its DIMCLRD and DIMCLRT properties without success.
DIMCLRD is supposed to assign a color to dimension lines and arrowheads. How to use this property to assign, say, color index 140?
AS well, DIMCLRT is supposed to assign a color to dimension text. A code snippet on what I am attempting to accomplish is posted below:

AutoCAD 2010 :: Select All Lines And Changing Dimension Style
Aug 9, 2012I just got a new job with AutoCAD 2011. In the previous version (was using 2008 beore), I could select all lines, dimensions hatches, and then change the dimension style. But with this new version, as soon as I select anything that is not a dimension, like a hatch pattern or a regular line, I can't change the dimension style anymore. Is there anyway to change this back to how it was?
