The problem that I am facing at the moment is the lines are showing through my design. I have tried making the lines invisible but I cant because if I do than the place where I need the lines to show will not.

I have installed CS3 and there is a lot of 'junk' that I don't want and don't need.
eg; Bridge, Device Central, Cue and Acrobat Connect.
For my basic needs, all I really want is PhotoShop and Acrobat (and maybe Illustrator.)
This other 'bloat' takes up valuable disk space.
If I just deleted the abovementioned stuff, would that effect my remaining programs?
I have a drawing from a surveyor showing contours which have been formed by 2D polylines. I have tried to trim out a portion of the contours, which i don't need, using extrim command but it doesn't trim any of the contour lines. Even with just the trim command i cannot trim them. i have tied exploding but still not managed to trim. How to trim these unwanted contour lines ?

View 9 Replies View RelatedI produced some objects in Inventor 2013 and exported to DWG to be assembled in AutoCAD 2013. All is fine except when i look at the objects in a 'hidden' view these weird diagonal lines appear over the objects. I am unable to clcik these but when i zoom in they gradually disappear but. If I try to plot the object as shown these lines are printed. This also happens when saving to pdf.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI know that the xmls are very important in the design data folder and we shouldn't mess with them.What about the rest of the folders. I have around 11 folders. GOST, AEC Exchange, AIT, Cable & Harness, Bend Tables, DWG-DXF etc...
I need to know if any of these folders can be deleted? We don't use AEC Exchange, Cable Harness, BIm Exchange, Design Accelerator, Tube & Pipe.
What about the Optimisation, DXF-DWG. I am not sure if I am using them unknowingly.Does this could be deleted? Is there a procedure to get rid of them.
This and other elevations have lines between new and existing walls/soffits. Joining doesn't eliminate the line. The existing wall is also in a group.
Is there any way to selectively hide an edge in an elevation?

Is there anyway to create a dimension string and then remove individual dimensions from it, while still keeping it as a contiguous string?
I ask, because in our office we dimension from finish face to finish face. I would like to run a single dimension string, but when I create a face-to-face dimension string it also dimensions the thickness of the walls. I just want to see the room dimensions, not the wall dimensions, but I can't figure out how to remove the wall dimensions while still keeping the others.
Furthermore, if this is possible, can I still use the equality constraint? I don't want to see wall dimensions, but would still like to be able to make all of my rooms equal.
On a view of a wall detail, I added a flashing with a Detail Line which shows only on that view specific detail. The flashing is at the bottom of a wood stud and brick wall in which the brick was added with a repeating detail. Now I want to move slightly the flashing a little lower from where I originally put it, but by doing so the brick also moves and I do not want the brick to move.
I assume something is locked or joined there. My question; How to detach the flashing from the brick so only the flashing line moves?
How does one delete unused or unwanted walls from the properties list?

I know you can set/adjust the grid in the preferences, but I would like to be able to have the gridlines as something editable (changing colors/scale, etc.) and as an element in the piece (as opposed to just a guide overlay that's not integrated).

I've been looking for a site / tutorial that outlines a detailed workflow for exporting a model from Revit and into 3ds Max for rendering and animation.
I'm particularly interested in how best to set a model up in revit to make this process less painful - particularly around material assignments, mapping etc. so that I can switch from the multi-material (using material IDs) setup that comes into Max over to the Architectural & Design materials.
Is it my inexperience with the product or is Revit Architecture far less competent for designing residential architecture than it is for commercial? I'm trying to design a large home and face workaround after workaround - many of which defeat the BIM materials inventory database I'd like to develop for quoteing the job. I understand that a Wood Framing Extension is available, but I'm still a student learning the software and the application is a subscription item and a high cost.

It would be very beneficial to be able to overlay these plans (eg. to see the differences, to make relative manipulations) as one can with the 'Underlay' feature can with different levels.
I have thought about placing the views on the same sheet and then activating the view I want to revise, but there is transparency complications . Suggest an alternative for a Design Option Underlay ability?

I have a tenant improvement project: two side by side medical offices. The owners want to run a joined practice and are building it together, so I'm preparing one set of construction drawings. However for a permit drawings I have to prepare 2 sets of drawings with each office separately-what's the best way of doing it? Also how should I handle sheets?-should I create 2 series: permit and CD? I'm not sure how to do it.

I work for a large home builder and we will have multiple elevations for each floor plan. The elevations are usually labeled A, B, C, D etc. If an elevation changes labels, say elevation D becomes elevation B, the order will now be A, D, C, B; they cant be reordered into alphabetical order. Which can become confusing. Make sense? Attached is an example of a basic Design Option from one of my houses. In a typical house we can have 50-60 design options, that can change names over years, and they need to remain in an easily read and sourced order.
I would like to know what is the best way to design a form of facade, similliar to the picture of the building I have uploaded and mentioned in the title of this post? Take note that I still am relatively unexperienced with the program

I have a few question. Which is the font used there? I tried looking through all the fonts in Corel and noone was the same. Sites like Whatthefont won't answer me correctly because the letters have white line inside.
My second question is this: I need to make the same design, so the white line should be in the letters. How to make that? Is this a font property or do I need to make it by hand? If it isn't a font property, how can I make it?
I have a problem were when , i take a design accelator shaft to .idw and section it the the hatch lines do not appear as they would if it was a shft drawn from scratch.

I have the North wall of the house in a design option for the living room at the moment. But I have decided I no longer want that wall in the my living room option, I would like to move it to my kitchen design option so I am able to move a window that is located on that wall. I cannot seem to find a way to move a wall from one design option to another or have it in both if it is already part of a design option. How I can get this wall and the windows located on it into my kitchen design layout without having things being double counted in the schedules?

is there a quick way to show all these lines on profile for design and drafting purposes? ideally want to just show a line at each intersection would be fine.
tried using pipes takes too long to set up. this is one important feature to have in the software.

I am trying to design the border mullion of the curtain wall, in a way that its centerline aligns to the border gridline.
For default the border mullion aligns the external face of it to the gridline, but I would like it to act as the internal mulluon - aligning with the centerline.
I want to know if is it possible to create design options in a grouped project.
