View 1 RepliesI've got CS5 and I'm still learning the ropes. I've advanced to creating my own ICC print profiles, which I'm using. CS5 has a long list of these in the print dialogue. I have occasionally updated the profiles that I have created ( which now appear in this list). I want to keep the list up to date with regards my own profiles and delete the ones that have been superceeded. I've looked through my folders (Windows 7) but I can't find where they are stored.
how I delete unwanted profiles in the list? Can it be done whilst in CS5?
When I open a new template all the correct linetypes are there and the drawing works fine, I can purge and they are deleted if not in use.
When I copy ANYTHING from one of my existing drawings which contains all these odd linetypes then they all appear in the new drawings and they will not purge.
ANYTHING = Text, blocks, lines... etc.
From reading about similar problems I think it has risesn from Binding/Inserting (I cant remember which one I used) of a Xref orignially from Microstation into a drawing I did about 3 months ago. The linetypes have just stuck around.
I want to turn my in-place mass walls (sloped or helical) to structural walls but i don't know how to do it. I'm able to do the walls but when i switch it to the analytical view the wall doesn't appear because it's not structural. It's there a way to do in-place mass structural walls.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to delete a unused layer. But when I do that I get the following error (see attachment). I googled a bit and figured out that the LAYDEL command might solve my issue, but as I'm using Autocad 2013, that's not possible, as it doesn't have this command..
The block that causes the error can also be deleted, I tried with the purge command, but must be doing something wrong cause it didn't work. With regard to the purge command, I see it this way (attachment 2), how can you display it in a window kind of view to get a better overview?
sometimes i can't delete an unused layer, why? if there's a causal factor, can i ignore and just DELETE it?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have an CAD file with a lot blocks which I don't use. I would like to delete them. So I do "Purge" which took care of some but not all. There are still a lot of "cannot purge" blocks. So I do "Insert", I see about 30 blocks. Choosing one of those, I can edit the block. (Doing the "Insert" was just my beginner's test step to see how many unwant blocks I still have.) I believe they cannot be purged because they are nested.
How can I delete the 'cannot be purged" unused blocks?
I know a lot of the blocks have other blocks nested in them. Is deleting the 'parent' blocks enough for me to purge?
Is there a way to delete an unused keyword tag I created in Elements Organizer 11?

Deleteting unused viewport types from Revit Arch 2013? I have a project that had some detail views imported from another project and brought along some unwanted viewport styles. Purge Unused does no good. There are no instances of the unwanted viewports in the project either.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have imported a dxf file from our Trimble handheld unit. The dxf has layers built into it that come straight from the trimble software. (ei, FENCE, TANK, WELL HEAD, FIELDLINE) I have custom built layers and linetypes for my .dwt file in Cad so I dont need the layers that followed the dxf file.
For some reason I am unable to delete those layers, I get a warning box saying:
The following layers cannot be deleted:
. layers 0 and Defpoints
. The current Layer.
. Layers containing objects.
. Xref-dependant layers
I am not on the current layer, I am pretty positive there is no objects on the layers I want to delete ( i have deleted my gps points and blocks that were imported)
I am not using any xref dwg's
I installed LR4 Beta, and imported some photos from my LR3 installation. Probably not the wisest approach I now realise.
Now that I have purchased LR4 (upgrade), and installed it including RC4.1 I realise that I have a catalogue that only contains the images I imported with the Beta version. I still have the original images, and sidecar files in my LR3 catalogue. What I want to do is remove the LR4 catalogue that I currenly have, and then export my catalogue from LR3 and import into LR4. I think I am OK with the Export / Import bit (I have Martin Evening's excellent book). What I don't know how to do is remove the catalogue, or contents thereof from LR4. I could of course just remove all the images from the catalogue by deleting them but I want to be careful here, as I got into this situation by doing things the wrong way in the first place.

I had a user ask why some dimension styles cannot be purged even if all the dimensions are deleted from the project.
Most probably the dimension style is used in a family that is loaded in the project.
When you select all dimension instances in the entire project, it will not select those included in the families. But the purge function will 'see' that it is still used in a family and therefore it will not be listed in the purge dialog.
So you will have to find in which family the dimension style is used.
I don't think there is an easy way to do it. I would make a copy of the project and then delete a bunch of families until the dimension style can be purged, then refine the research until to find the family that contains the dimension style.
I have generated a model but want to get rid of unwanted geometry to clean it up, how do I delete unwanted geometry?

Under 'Lightroom' there are a number of duplicated items which I would like to delete (cleanup).
In Library>Application Support> Adobe> Lightroom>Presets>Export .. there is ONLY User. No 'Lightroom.'
It appears there is no way to delete or purge unused grid family types, even in 2012. Is this true, or am I missing something?
