Revit :: Cannot Purge Unused Dimension Styles
Jul 14, 2011I had a user ask why some dimension styles cannot be purged even if all the dimensions are deleted from the project.
Most probably the dimension style is used in a family that is loaded in the project.
When you select all dimension instances in the entire project, it will not select those included in the families. But the purge function will 'see' that it is still used in a family and therefore it will not be listed in the purge dialog.
So you will have to find in which family the dimension style is used.
I don't think there is an easy way to do it. I would make a copy of the project and then delete a bunch of families until the dimension style can be purged, then refine the research until to find the family that contains the dimension style.

AutoCad 2D :: Cannot Purge Unwanted / Unused Linetypes
Oct 26, 2011When I open a new template all the correct linetypes are there and the drawing works fine, I can purge and they are deleted if not in use.
When I copy ANYTHING from one of my existing drawings which contains all these odd linetypes then they all appear in the new drawings and they will not purge.
ANYTHING = Text, blocks, lines... etc.
From reading about similar problems I think it has risesn from Binding/Inserting (I cant remember which one I used) of a Xref orignially from Microstation into a drawing I did about 3 months ago. The linetypes have just stuck around.

Sep 16, 2008I have a large xref from a client that is causing me some grief. When I open it, I get a message about it having over 5,000 annotative scales (seriously!). What do I need to do to get rid of them? I'm not a big fan of xref's & things like this make me like them even less!

The block that causes the error can also be deleted, I tried with the purge command, but must be doing something wrong cause it didn't work. With regard to the purge command, I see it this way (attachment 2), how can you display it in a window kind of view to get a better overview?

May 3, 2011I have an CAD file with a lot blocks which I don't use. I would like to delete them. So I do "Purge" which took care of some but not all. There are still a lot of "cannot purge" blocks. So I do "Insert", I see about 30 blocks. Choosing one of those, I can edit the block. (Doing the "Insert" was just my beginner's test step to see how many unwant blocks I still have.) I believe they cannot be purged because they are nested.
How can I delete the 'cannot be purged" unused blocks?
I know a lot of the blocks have other blocks nested in them. Is deleting the 'parent' blocks enough for me to purge?

The thing is everytime I try to use the pieces they have a white background. Xara :: Bitmaps Getting Resized (optimized) Automatically
Oct 17, 2013I'm working on a print document and do not understand the behavior of Designer Pro X9 concerning image optimizing. When I drag an image from explorer onto my document, I'm being prompted (as expected) to decide, whether I want to import the original size image or a resized version. Choosing the high resolution version gives me the full size bitmap to work with on my page.
But as soon as I drag the same image from the bitmap gallery onto my page, I get a downsized version of 1920 x 1280 pixels, which also immediately appears as a copy in the bitmap gallery. Why this happens and if and where I can prevent X9 from doing this?

Oct 23, 2012I cant get this to render correctly in exports to GIF, PNG, JPEG format.
It consists of a fairly large stretched bitmap.Page size is large (A0).
Strangely if I copy the graphic and UN-stretch it I start to be able to render it again.

Jul 24, 2013Currently running designer Pro X, I am finally getting around to trying to build or add additional bitmaps to my gallery so that I can customize my graphics. I cannot find, the bitmaps Gallery on my original install disk. Where can I find quality bitmaps to add to my gallery? Once I locate either a complete file and/or a single image how do I permanently added to my gallery file so that when I launch Xara the bitmaps will be available any time I want to use them as a fill from the paint menu?

Nov 28, 2011Suppose you discover that at some point previously that you accidenetally did multiple pastings of the same thing into the same place, and suppose you go left-click then delete, then left click then delete (etc) SLOWLY, then ou can delete the offending multiple items one at a time and all is good.
HOWEVER if you try to do it too quickly it all goes wrong. It seems that the tool that was used to create the object that you are trying to delete suddenly gets selected. e.g. If it is multiple copies of the same text and you go left-click, then delete, then left-click TOO QUICKLY, then suddenly instead of being in Selector tool mode, you suddenly find yourself in Text Tool mode and find yourself deleting individual characters one at a time instead of the entire text items.
Likewise, if you find a rectangle and do left-click - delete key - left-click too quickly you suddenly find yourself in Rectangle Tool mode and the delete key no longer functions.

Feb 17, 2012I've used Xara for a while now, but I've never figured out how to remove or delete a curve edit handle. I mainly want to get rid of ones that are created spontaneously when I add/delete other points on a shape. Attached is an example where the curved cusp of the arrow came, seemingly, from nowhere. All I want to do is restore the angular property. I've tried moving the handle to be on top of the point indicator, but that's an imprecise action ... that often leads to the shape spinning wildly.

Jun 15, 2011I just started using Xara and have been doing some sketches in Xara Photo & Graphics 7.0 Once I am done my sketch I often want to delete a line (inner line I used to draw but now needs to be deleted to make sketch look right). Is there a way to erase part of a line. If I try to highlight and delete the line I lose the whole thing. I just want to delete part of a line (in the center of the line not at the end of it). So far I have been importing into photoshop and erasing my lines with the eraser tool but it takes so much time!

I only use English, I will NEVER install any other language. Can I not delete these files (they should not have been installed in the first place, but I'm assuming Adobe will not change this). I did see one previous question on this but it was unanswered. The sheer scale (something approaching 20% of the total files on my PC) are occupied by what appears to be completely un-necessary files.
