Jun 24, 2003I want to make a nice interface (menu) for my website in photoshop. Once I create the image, how do I make it "editable" in html? Is there a way to achieve this with slices? I'm sorry if you don't really understand what I am saying...let me know if I need to be more specific.

AutoCAD 2013 :: How To Manage Ribbon Interface With 16:9 Monitor
Apr 23, 2013we cannot afford giant size monitors. An average AEC firm would have a 23 inch monitor or 21 inches. Now almost all the monitors are 16:9. So already the height of the monitor is reduced when compared to the 4:3 monitor.With the Ribbon Interface, the height of the drawing space becomes even less. Of course the ribbon can be minimized etc. but it is a nuisance revoking it and minimizing again. the 2008 version IMHO had a better interface with dashboards which occupied the vertical space on the right side. This way the height of the drawing space is not affected. It used to be a good interface - why change this into Ribbon mimicking MS Office for a CAD program?
I know that you could still have the Classic interface - but you lose the convenience of the ribbon. Frankly, I am a "command line only" person. But I would like to get used to the Ribbon also. Only at this point of time it started to irritate me the small height of the drawing space.
By very huge monitors? or may be you are using highly advanced models where you have a choice for a 4:3 format? I am struggling. I would like to use AutoCAD the way the rest of the world uses - though I am very fast in command line and know by heart most of the commands & shortcut keys. Sometimes i work in FullScreen mode.

Dec 30, 2012I am terribly worried because since I upgraded to Windows 8, Revit 2013 is no displaying the User interface in a correct manner. Many icons/commands are hidden and for example I want to edit a floor, click on it and the Edit boundary doesnt show up unless minimize the panel buttons but it doesnt show up in the expanded panel. Then, once you do it, the red cross and green check mark dont display either. You have to again look on the minimized panel buttons.
Then you finally find where the Edit bounday icon is, click on it, and the option for choosing the boundary lines dont show up and have to expand the panel button.It's been months since Windows 8 is out and Autodesk didn't update Revit to work properly under this new OS?Weird thing is that Revit 2011 seems to not have issues running on Windows 8.

Feb 17, 2014Is it possible to make the graphic represention of a component in a schedule (make a legend component representation a parameter) or use legends dynamically. I would like to schedule all the casework with quantities of each component. But the current schedule has a graphic representation next to the quantities but it is not in revit and the quanties are determined manually by counting them. I know there is a add on you can purchase to create dynamic legends but is there a way to do this directly in Revit?

Feb 27, 2014As of just a few hours ago, certain commands have disappeared from my ribbon. Example: when modifiying wall, i get no options for lines, same issue for modifiying floor shapes, i can get to the edit mode, but then i essentially have no options after that. Also, the check or the reject changes option has disaapeared.....meaning the only way out of the command is to undo. This literally has just occured within the last couple of hours. I tried resetting the ribbon, but nothing really happened exect locational changes.

Revit :: Modification Tools On Ribbon Not Available
Feb 22, 2013I have a user that isn't getting the modify tools when it comes to Profile modification or adjusting such items as curtain grids.
I'm aware of all the standard ways of hitting TAB, etc, but selecting the proper item isn't the issue. When the profile edge (of anything) or curtain grid line (unpinned, of course) of curtain walls are selected the tools for modification (add-remove segment, edit profile, etc) simply don't appear on the ribbon.

May 28, 20132013 Revit ribbon bar is missing commands..Tried to install the update to fix the ribbon bar - however when I open the update folder on my computer it states
"The update release could not be installed because the expected Autodesk product could not be located on your computer. Make sure that you are using the correct Update Release for the product."
The update file that I am trying to use is called "Autodesk_Revit_2013-x86_Update2.exe".

May 30, 2012Granted this is a minor issue, but when Revit 2013 is opened, before actually opening a project file, if I click the add-ins or some of the other menus, they don't appear in the right spot. See attachment as an example.

Feb 8, 2012I've created a small group of concrete reinforcing detail components that have graphic overrides to change solid black to solid grey. When I copy the objects or place new groups made from the objects, the graphic overrides reset to original all black.
Is there anyway to get the graphic overrides, which are embedded in the group, to copy into new intances of the group so that I don't have to "undo group" and apply new graphic overrides?
Revit :: Boundary Ribbon - Edit Mode Disappears

Sep 27, 2012how to change the demolished and temporary appearances of non-structural elements such as railiings, plumbing fixtures etc?It is straigh forward to use phase overides to change the appearance of Walls etc that are either demolished or temporary, but however you change these appearances non structural elements stubbornly remain with a dotted blue outline. I want demolished railings and other non-structural elements to appear with a red hidden line style but have been unable to find out how this can done.

Mar 14, 2012Ribbon has been acting strange. One example is when creating a sweep the ribbon will not show the mode options to accept or discard changes while creating the sweep path. I have to cycle the ribbon display options to show the X and check options to complete the sweep path. This is only one example of many different odd things happening.
Sometimes when I am simply drawing model lines the selection options for rectangle, circle etc do not appear until I cycle the ribbon display options. This only started in the last week or two.

Photoshop :: Clipboard Distorts
Jan 17, 2005This is more a basic question, but something I have happen often. Why is it when I perform a ALT-Print Scrn on an active window [windows platform] and paste to a wordpad document, open PS and create new image and paste the image from the wordpad document to PS it is distorted?
Any help appreciated.
The reason I have to paste to wordpad first is I often have to complete documentation on systems that do not have access to PS so I paste to wordpad to save the clipboard images I need.

Lightroom :: 3.4 Distorts Images In Develop?
May 16, 2011This problem started when I updated to Lightroom 3.4 on my new Windows 7 Toshiba Portege R700 laptop. I did not experience it with prior revs of Lightroom 3 on the same laptop. Here are the symptoms:
When I enter Develop, then some of my images stretch upwards when displayed on a second large monitor if the image is as wide as possible, and stretch sideways (inwards) on my laptop monitor if the image is already as tall as the laptop monitor allows. in either case, the image is distorted so that it is appears taller and thinner. When I exit back to Library mode then the image is normal in appearance again.Some images do the opposite and stretch downwards!The files are all RAW. It appears to be a problem only with Olympus RAW (.orf) files and not with Canon RAW (cr2). The same thing happens when I disconnect the secondary display.I can do this multiple times.I took an image, made a virtual copy, reset it and the same thing still happens.There is another similar post where the solution was to start with a fresh preview file. I tried that and it did not work (I closed lightroom, renamed the preview file, and then openned Lightroom again forcing it to create a fresh preview file.One some images, I find that my mask has shifted over. For example, I have an image where I desaturate everything apart from the main figure. Now, the main figure is partially desaturated, as if the mask has moved sideways when I export the image.

Nov 28, 2012I am trying to customize Autocad 2012 ribbon tab. I can't seem to find how to mimic the small arrow that appears in several of the standard menus. For example, in the 3D Solids - Home Tab, the second panel from the left is "3D Solids Home - Mesh" It has a small arrow in the corner that opens up a preferences dialogue box.
How can I add that arrow to a custom panel with that little arrow so that I can add my command to it?

Apr 24, 2013I am in the process of creating a flier and I am running into a problem with my type. In my head line I am attempting to use an outter glow but when I do I get a choppy distortion on my letters. It isn't all that aparent when I look at it in photoshop but when I export it to a pdf you can tell and it is really obvious when I print it. There has be no noise added to any of the effects applied to the type. In fact the only other effect applied to the type is a gradient overlay.
I am using photoshop cs6 on a mac running 10.6.8
Photoshop :: Placing Text On Arc Distorts/Stretches...
Nov 12, 2008I recently placed text on an arc in Photoshop and found that it appears to stretch the text as well. I placed the same text on a circle in Illustrator and then placed it on top of the text in Photoshop. When the two lines of text were then made to have letters of the same height, the letters were not the same width (Photoshop letters were wider). Illustrator appears to maintain the aspect ratio of each letter when placing text on a curve while Photoshop does not.
Is this known to happen? Is there a way to place text on an arc in Photoshop that does not distort/deform the letters of the text in any way other than to place them on an arc?
