View 3 RepliesI need to use a couple of screen shots in an e-learning course. The screen shots contain text and when I try to reduce the sizes of these images the text becomes fuzzy. I've just worked out how to reduce an image size in Photoshop.
(I'm not the most proficient user; I bumble through processes when I need it.) I've used 'bicubic' and 'bicubic sharper' in the reduction process, but both produce a fuzzy appearance. Is there a way that I can reduce these images while retaining as much textual clarity as possible? images have not been created in Photoshop. And I'm not sure if it makes a difference, but I'm using SnagIt for my screen grabs.
After converting CR2 Raw files to Jpeg the size of the files is too small. How if possible Can one increase file size in Elements 9?

Are there techniques for doing this? Does one need to start with an image of at least a certain size to expect any halfway decent results? The starting point images in question are in the neighborhood of 250px - 400px in either dimension and all combos of those.
I'm using a Mac. My windows friend sent me a jpeg of a piece of art we're working on. It looked fine in the web browser. It looked fine in Preview when I opened it, and it looked fine in Photoshop. But when I save it from photoshop after adding just a small thing to the image, the whole thing comes out a bit brighter. I have no idea what's doing it. I've tried Save For Web and Save As and it comes out the same each time. I have played with color settings in the past slightly, but it was my understanding that only affected how photoshop displays the image and I wouldn't expect it to change an image I imported then exported again.

Even by printer. Everything was in vain. But once it is transferred to the documents files it goes back to the original size.
View 4 Replies View RelatedWhen ever I open up a jpeg image in CS 6 it is opening at 2% to sometimes .5% These files are fairly large 3 to 6 megs, and the image size are standard 10'' x 16" for example.
Is there a setting so I can view them at screen size when I open them so I do not have to make them bigger every time I open a new jpeg?
When I use photos, they pixelate slightly and loose quite a bit of clarity as soon as I press play. Why is this?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a style/font combo that really i like to use for text.
My goal is to use it regularly in the future on/with new backgrounds.
Currently I have the text on a background.
All I want to do is (retaining the text) replace it with another background.
I am using PSE 11 on a MacBook Pro, OS X (10.3). I have a lot of old pictures to edit, and they are in date order, which is how I want them.
However, when I edit a picture and save it, it moves it to the bottom, with today's date instead of the original date. I have them set to save with the original as a version set.
Is there any way to retain the orignal dates, short of having to go in and reset the date on every picture after I save it? I really want them to be in date order under their original dates.
BTW, I used earlier versions that were Windows-based, and this didn't happen. When I saved them, the version sets stayed where they were.

When trying to use the text tool, nothing seems to happen ...I try to enlarge the text but cannot see anything.
After entering some text If I the click on the green tick button I get a tiny Box..If I then enlarge the tiny text box I can see my text..

Using the Navigator, I can enlarge the image, but am only able to view part of the image in the workspace, not the entire thing. When editing, I need to see the entire photo and its edges. I could do this in the earlier versions, but not 10. What am I doing wrong? I am a former user of photoshop 7, elements 8.

View 2 Replies View RelatedSomething just happened here. In the past, when I open any photo in Elements 10, the image would pretty much fill the space. the bottom edge of the picture would almost reach the bottom of the workspace...whether vertical or horizontal format. Then I would create a duplicate and hit either ctrl + 0 (zero) and the duplicate would be a nice large size. ( Double clicking on the little hand in the tool bar would also do the same trick).
Now , for some reason, the picture opens to maybe 60% of that size. It's way too small to work on comfortably. The duplicate is even smaller. When I hit the ctrl + 0 ...nothing happens size remains the same. If I pull on lower right hand corner to enlarge...it only enlarges the ruler and frame. Picture itself remains same small size. How can I get that back? I tried a system restore. that did not work.
I just tried running this program on a computer running on Windows 7 professional OS. When I tried to share the album I created by exporting to CD/DVD, the preview showed only small thumbnail icons without the pictures. I tired to troubleshoot the compatibilty but did not seem to work.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've used photoshop elements 10 ad it's worked fine on my other computers. I just purchased a new computer, same size monitor and I can barely read the font or text on it. I have 20/20 vision but the workspace is so small on this computer. I've tried changing the resolution on my screens and it's not changing photoshops screen at all. I'm not sure why it is a great size on my past computers and this updated computer it's not showing properly ? I can not use the program any longer with the changed sizing.
