Inventor isn't letting me use the revolve tool. I got the work axis and the sketch. I attached my part here and I also attached the file that tells how the revolve should look like .

View 4 Replies View RelatedI am attempting to revolve a sketch between two surfaces in Autodesk Inventor Professional 2012. The problem is that the extrusion is being created on the opposite side of the two surfaces that I want.
For example, I have two flanges on a cylinder. I would like the feature to be created to stretch on the lower side, the larger angle, where the sketch is. Instead, it is creating the feature on the upper side, the smaller angle.
I have adjusted everything I can within the revolve feature options, including unchecking "minimum solution" and switching the starting and terminating faces.
In the attached file I am attempting to revolve "Sketch 7" about the x-axis, between the two flanges closest to the "top." The sketch is centered on where I want the revolved feature to be created.
i a'm using Inventor routed 2011 and am having a issue with a revolve. I created an axis with a sketch in the part. Than i created a plane that does not pass through that axis. i sketch on that plane than try to revolve using the axis. it gives me an error. what i have is a arm3+"w x 28"l that is pivoting in the in the center and about 9" from the end it tapers out .5". The bottom is the cutting edge that i need to revolve onto a weldment for matching to keep a tight seal.

I am new to Illustrator and am trying to create a 3D dish that looks silver on one side and gold on the other. Is there a way I can do this? If I want to add further shapes to the top of this dish is it better to add these before applying the 3D effect? If so is it possible to apply the gradients to only part of the shape?
Alternatively would it be possible to use the gradient mesh in concave shape. The default mesh is convex. Is there an easy way to change this to concave?
I am working in 5.5 and have a 3D revolved globe object with a map art applied. It is currently in A2 art board size and I need to increase to A0. When I scale the object I get "The combination of artwork size and resolution exceeds the maximum that can be rasterized." I have tried adjusting the rasterize setting and the map art.

The problem I am having is that the quality of the map vector is significantly reduced when mapped on the 3d revolve. Is there any way I can have it keep it's "full" vector quality or is there something else I am missing.

Got a problem trying to wrap a vector illustration of a map around a sphere to create a globe for a logo (as per this tutorial: [URL] ....) except I don't want to make it look 3d with the shading options.
Basically when I do this, the map loses all it's detail almost as if Illustrator simplifies the map. I can't seem to work out at all how to make this while retaining the detail and export it as an eps.
Just upgraded to 2014. I have a custom tool palette set up and Content Browser pointing to right catalog. Custom tool palette was copied from 2012. I was able to modify all tool properties within that palette to point to right content file but one. Can't change the property in one tool on palette.
Patette is locked (I locked it when I created it in 2012) and I have Right Access to all of the network files in Architecture (this is sitting on a network). Why is it the Tool Palette won't Unlock?
I have a group of 3D objects using the revolve command (object on the left). Now I want to put the object on it's side. i.e. rotate it by 90 degrees exactly as it is but the 3D revolve is distorting it to look like the object on the right. How do I prevent this?

Since effects are not recordable, I added it using "Insert Menu Item..." and saved .aia file, which contained 3 params (itnm, lcnm and cmid). These params were enough to invoke 3D Revolve Options Dialog using SDK, but nothing more. Two questions:
Is it possible to suppress Options dialog? I used kDialogOff, but without effect. I suppose that dialog showed because I haven't specified any additional parameter (like x, y, z rotation, angle, surface, etc), which leads to second questionHow to find out list of params that are necessary for particular effect?

I have created a 3d object to look like a coffee mate carton. I tried to post images on here but I keep getting an error.The art work that I want to put on my object consists of a number of elements which have been saved as a symbol. (image) However whenever I try to map it to my object nothing happens. I have used some of the system symbols and these work fine. I have also made a simple label of text only and this works fine. Is there a problem using more complex symbols in this way?
View 3 Replies View RelatedThe measure tool is not giving me the correct measurement. For example, I offset a line 24' and when I go to double check the distance it is off by .03. That is starting on the original line and doing a perpendicular snap to the other line. So I thought, wait a minute that can't be right, so I drew a line between the two lines and did an inquiry and it gave me 24'.
I also did a dimension which also was correct. I also measured a 97' line and it was off by 3 feet. Never had issues with previous versions of Autocad as far as measuring.
I've recently installed auto cad 2007lt on our new computer. I set up numerous tool palettes with blocks that we use often. I was pulling images from the palettes to my drawing with no problem.
Today when I tried inserting an image from the tool palette it is saying that the image can not be found. I've tried under previous drawings and new templates and have been unsuccessful.
I am running Windows 7 32 bit. I have Autodesk Architecture 2012 installed. When I try to run a simple wall tool from my tool pallette, I get the following error;
Unable to Execute the tool. Possible causes are:
- The tool is not registered properly. Please check your installation.
- The tool is from another application and is incompatible with the current application.
I recently had my entire computer wiped clean, upgraded from Windows XP to Windows 7, and reinstalled Arch 2012, so no other versions have been on this system. All of my basic drafting functions work fine.
I found an old thread about using Regedit to change the registry of the tool palettes, but that simply made my tool palette empty. I just installed this, so I don't understand why I would need to reinstall.
Here is cylinder made of rectangle using 3d Revolve effect.I want to change perspective of this cylinder like the red lines show, but it goes a bit to the left. I need exactly to the front. I think this is because perspective based on the center of rectangle (in the green circle) not on the center of cylinder. Is it possible to move the center of rectangle? If not, is any other decisions how to make what I want?

I can create the object with ease, but when I click on "3D Revolve" and then hit "preview" it says "Rendering Artwork" and instantly freezes at halfway. how I want to get this done asap.
