Got a issue I have spent way too much time on already. Have match lines and view ports set up. I have dragged the matchline to places that they will appear on either view port frame. when I save and close then reopen it is like I never did anything. This is making the matchline text disappear of of my sheet I have set up as well. What is causing it to now honor and keep my drags?

i run into situation where i need to break the connection between collors and pens whight in some cases.
i have 5 colors i need them to respect my CTB table, but the rest will display on screen but wont be plotted.
how can i establish such a setup?
Is there any way to get the VIEWBASE command to respect the layer settings when creating section views?
It keep clarity, our plot styles are already setup, and IMO, more logical.
I used Solid Edge for my entire professional career. One thing that is driving me batty is how, when necessary in a view for clarity, tangent lines are displayed and how to change them, or at the very least, come up with a work around to display them how is needed. In general, tangent lines are first, supposed to be of thinner lineweight, but also, are not supposed to extend all the way across the surface of a part, they are to leave a small gap.
I have found and tried the option of displaying tangent lines, and also have checked the for shorten option. The issue is, in many of the parts the gap produced in HUGE. So I've spent a few hours tinkering, and I finally decided to try and define a new linetype using autocad express tools. So I tried this, but to my dismay I haven't been able to set up a linetype that only has a gap at the end. See attached jpeg for illustration.
I was using the Grim Color Reaper plugin for when I needed to merge a shadow map and regular texture. Now it seems that with the new release of Paint.net the plugin has stopped working.I need something that merges the shadow map and the normal texture, that works with the new release.

why i can't not match properties (MP) multileader texts, as you can see on the pic, i want the Mleader text on the right to be the same size as on the left, they are in the same layer, same mleader style but when click MP to match with the one on the left, nothing happen?
Civil 3d 2014.... I have existing surface and a profile with 5 sample lines. All of them are good except 1 sample offset. I can do I quick profile and the profile looks like it should but if I generate an actual profile 90% of the profile is off. I have already tried reoding the alignment but it looks same on either one.
View 2 Replies View RelatedMy field crew assumed a coordinate system and surveyed a job. I need to rotate the points in my dwg to match another survey. I have not found a rotate points command. Other LDT type commands have been replaced by standard ACAD commands by adding the transparent commands to them. I tried to use the ACAD rotate command and the transparent commands to rotate my points, but there is no transparent command to find multiple points. I need to select the points by point number range if possible.

I don't want the intersection to have curb returns because I just want the access road to act as a driveway enterance (main road curb will run straight through and just get depressed at the access road enterance). However, I want the daylighting for the main corridor and the access road corridor to match up at this intersection and I'm not sure how to do this.

I am using Civil 3D 2011 because of a contract. Monday I created the View Frames and cut the sheets. As of this morning everything was printing properly. Over the day I added alignment labels to the sheets and other call outs, and now the Match Line text is not printing.
I have moved the match line object to the top of the drawing order, double checked the layer to verify that it is not set to no plot, and verified that the xref with the match line is on the top of the drawing order.
Attached is a screen capture of the corner PDF I plotted.
When making a profile the actual scale of the profile does not match the vertical text. The scale is 1"=40' hor and 1"=4' ver with a 10:1 exageration.

I have been trying for weeks and still cat get it to work. I am trying to make my drag out leader to look like a pline with a width of 0 on one side and a width of 4 on the other for civil 3d 2012. See attached .

If that was a property, then we would be able to make our Leaders display or not display based on the distance from the object. If I only drag a label a half-inch I might not want a leader, but if I go further I would like the leader to appear.
It would be easy enough to do this with expressions if you could make that property available in the expressions dialog.

Problem with command from Home tab - Draw panel - Curves drop-down - Create Curves Between Two Lines OR Create Curve on Two Lines.
If you select the Degree option, it draws a zero length curve when you type in a valid number for degree of curve. I have tried entering it in decimal format and as ##d##'. NOTHING WORKS!
Trying to make a rotateable block with non-rotating text (i.e. full-time "match orientation to view" text).

i made a survey, about 2000 points with my TSC3R6. I exported my CSV file to a PNEZD file with comma seperated. When i try ti import the file (CSV then i made a .txt), C3D tells me "no point file format match found". Then I opened the txt file, searched for any error that would not let me import my points. The only thing i have found would be the description of my points that sometimes had a space between 2 words (ex: bt balast and ht balast) so i changed it to bt-balast and ht-balast. i looked further and didnt found anything else. heres a sample of my txt file:

I am adding on to an existing roadway. I want to match my exist.cross slope of the road way which will vary.
When I select to use the parameter reference LinkoffsetandSlope I get a slope, but it is in the wrong direction.The linkoffsetandslope is getting the grade from the existing CL of roadway and the existing edge of pavement.
It's my first time using SSA, and I had finally created a network and storm that I thought was working properly (using TR-20 routing with an SCS II storm), until I took a closer look at the profile outputs - and noticed that the graphed Max HGL line does not match the Max HGL listed in the table below. The difference was 856.2 on the graph and 858.01 on the table at one my structures, for example.
The ability to import pipe networks is nice in SSA, but if the output data is always this wacky I may have to go give up on SSA and go back to using Hydrocad.
I currently use Mep 2012 although my question I believe is general in nature. As a sheet metal contractor I do drawings that have many different entities at various elevations. Many times I use change propeties to match the propeties of on entity like a linetype to change another. What I really need to do is have the ability to use a similiar button and match or change the "Z" elevation of a specific entity just like I do for linetype, color etc.

View 2 Replies View Relatedi can't drag a block from the design center into any drawing. i have to go into the design center right click on the block, click copy, then go back to my drawing and paste the block. this has just started happen, before i was able to drag and drop with no problem. there is no error message the only thing that happens when i try to drag a block from the design center is when i'm back in the drawing the cross hair has a circle.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a drawing I am working on regardless of whether I use DVIEW Twist or UCS rotate I encounter the same issue. I start with MTEXT that is parallel to my intended view. However, as soon as I make it annotative and set it to Match Layout the text rotates 90-degrees and is no longer plan readable.The text lives in model space, not paper space. I've even roated the layout viewports in this specific drawing to match, and the text appears correct when viewed through a viewport, but when I jump back to model it is turned on end 90-degrees again! Have I missed a setting somewhere? Shouldnt the text reamin oriented with current view in model space?

I created view frames and sheets for a number of alignments. Is there a way to turn off a match line not associated with the main alignment for a particular viewport.
Or did I missed a setting somewhere that should turn this off automatically?
I'm looking to make an assembly to follow the crown of the existing roadway which is to be milled and overlayed. In addition to being milled and overlayed there will be a curb bumpout which will be full depth pavement. The roadway does not hold a constant crown at 2%, it varies which is why I would like it to mimic the existing roadway cross slope. What would be the best way to go about making an assembly to model this. I have attached an image so that you may get an idea of the situation. I have a curb gutter line which I would like the assembly to target in both width and elevation. The single slanted hatch is mill and overlay and the double slanted hatch is full depth pavement (widening).

I've got a project where the match line labels constantly reset to the left and right of the match line itself even though I've set it to be middle. I didn't have this problem with 2013 or earlier, so is it a possible bug?

I've been generally having trouble with Civil 3D 2012 taking a long time to do tasks. One that takes quite a while is if I drag a Cogo Point Label. As stated it takes about 75 seconds. It will move to where I drag it immediately but then the program is unresponsive for a minute and 15 seconds.
In the past 4 days I've repaired C3D, tried 4 or 5 different versions of the display driver and did a windows update. A lot of commands, specifically Civil 3D commands, are very slow. Does this ring any bells?

Am I missing something or has shift-drag / click for deselecting been removed from C3D 2013?
Is this a variable I can re-enable? Or is there a hotfix for this?
Apparently text will always rotate about the bottom left grip and not the justified grip.
This is a massive issue that makes this great feature virtually worthless.
If the text is going to rotate in multiple viewports you need it to stay in the same place!
I have used Autocad since 1991, and my current job required me to use Microstation. One feature I liked from Microstation is the ability to select and open an external DGN reference, and then match the view of the parent DGN, called the "EXCHANGE" command. In AutoCAD, you can also select and open an xref, but the DWG opens to the previous saved view, and not to the desired view that matches the layout.
My thought was to experiment with lisp or script and export the "Viewctr", "Viewtwist" and "Viewsize" variables to a text file, then importing the text file and using the "Viewtwist" as my "SNAPANG" value, then "Viewctr" as my "ZOOM, CENTER" value, and finally the "Viewsize" as the "Enter magnification or height:" value.
But, alas, I have no time, and not quite the knowledge to duplicate MicroStation's open-xref-and-zoom-to-view feature. I hesitate using the REFEDIT, which works fine for regular AutoCAD, but not so much for Civil 3D and the objects it creates (labels and other items with data shortcuts).
