I've got a project where the match line labels constantly reset to the left and right of the match line itself even though I've set it to be middle. I didn't have this problem with 2013 or earlier, so is it a possible bug?

Photoshop has never acted like this before. I opened a file and simply removed the lock on the layer. Then the image is gone and left with a transparent layer.
Then I tried importing video to layers and then this happened.I have restarted my computer , updated photoshop and even updated the operating system.
I am using Civil 3D 2011 because of a contract. Monday I created the View Frames and cut the sheets. As of this morning everything was printing properly. Over the day I added alignment labels to the sheets and other call outs, and now the Match Line text is not printing.
I have moved the match line object to the top of the drawing order, double checked the layer to verify that it is not set to no plot, and verified that the xref with the match line is on the top of the drawing order.
Attached is a screen capture of the corner PDF I plotted.
I have my existing surface data referenced into my production drawing. I am trying to label the existing surface contour lines in the production drawing. I only have one surface in this drawing right now, so, I don't believe this is a multiple surface issue.
When I try to add single and multiple contour labels to the existing surface, I cannot select a contour line. I try to click on a contour line, using osnap, and I just keep getting prompted to pick a contour line.
When I label my Contour lines there is a blue line(perp) running right thru the middle of it.
I have looked to take it off but can not find it.
I am doing a project and I have a lot of feature lines. I will need to be able to lable these feature lines with tags and then create tables for those. My question is, is there an easy format that I can do that will lable these lines in an order I set it up? Right now it just lables all over the place. The lines are counting the curves too. For example: L1 L2 L3 C1 L5 L6 C2 L8. I can make it work, would just think there is a better way. BTW I am using Civil 3D 2011.

2. On the Layout tab of the Label Style Composer, select or create the label component that you want to span multiple segments.
3. In the Properties list, under General, change the Span Outside Segments property to True.Specify this setting for each component that you want to span multiple segments.
There is no "Span Outside Segments" to set to True in my Label Style Composer. The only T/F option under General is for visibility.

Im trying to access the line labeling via the lines/curves menu heading on the main menu bar but i dont have the Lines/Curves drop down button. Is there a command i can enter to show this menu bar?

I have discovered that the points from it is created are fixed in Z value.
You can use the grips with object snap , you can move the grips but the Z values are preserved......
it should be to get the Z value of X,Y,Z given by object snap , isn't it ?
Mastering C3D - the bit about spanning segments on an exterior line crossing several parcels. It works like the book shows except the crow's feet only appear at the start and end of the parcel's segment that I click on to insert the label, instead of the start and end of the whole segment. The distance the label reports is correct.
The crows feet are blocks inserted at the start and end of the direction arrow component (visibility false) in the author's style? I have turned the arrow's visibility on and can see that the arrow does not span the parcels.
I have another drawing in a later chapter on alignments that has the same spanning label style that works and I can't for the life of me discover the difference between the two.

We would like to be able to rotate line and curve labels in Civil 3D 2010.
Some of our drawings get really crowded and we need to slightly rotate the line or curve labels. This is fine with regular autocad text, but how can we accomplish this with styles and dynamic line/curve labels? I can't seem to find a way to do this with the grips and setting up new styles with specified rotations isn't an option because we need to be able to fine tune and eyeball the rotation of the label to make it look right.

How to delete all labels on a feature line? Ideally if we could just pick the line and have it's labels deleted. QSelect and Select Similar require too much interaction to be convenient.

Or did I missed a setting somewhere that should turn this off automatically?
I have a feature line that is perpendicular to another and connected to it at a PI .When I modify the elevations of one of the feature lines, the labels for slope and PI elevation of the dependent feature line do not react and update without having to invoke a REGEN.

I label my feature lines with three styles: multiple - segment grade, multiple - segment start elevation & single - segment end elevation. I want to make a macro for each of these that I can put on a button. It would be nice to combine the two multiples too if that is possible.

I have some Line Labels that got exploded, and they contained Background Masks.
When I make a plot, the mask plots a dark rectangle.
How can I make the masks visible so that they can be erased? Is there a variable for that? What type of entity (name?)are they?
When I make "wipeouts" visible, you still can not see the masks.

How to choose “no color” for the line extending between the contours labels?
I labeled the contour lines but sounds that it draws a line between them. Is there a way to hide this line to give it “no color” to have a better presentation for the entire map?

I have questions in 2012 pipe network labels.
We are having problems with running out of space and would like to squeeze the line spacing between lines to get more room. We know how to do that in standard MTEXT but can't find the equivalent in the label settings.
I have also noticed problems getting dragged pipe labels to stack. I check the box to stack on drag, but it doesn't seem to do it. We created a separate stacked label style.
Is there a way to add elevation labels at any position on a feature line without having to create a surface?

I have a corridor with an associated sample line group, and I have produced some material volume tables to give me quantities for my corridor structures and cut/fill volumes. When I look at the material volume tables they are at a seemingly arbitrary stationing. The sample line group which the material volume tables are (supposedly) based on are on alignment L1000 and they run from station 1133+73 to station 1154+00 every 10 meters. The material volume tables show volumes broken down by stations starting at station 3719+58.66 and runs through to station 3786+08.92. It is sampling at a seemingly arbitrary frequency, there is absolutely no alignment in my drawing that has stations remotely resembling those numbers, and there is definitely no sample line group it could be using that samples an alignment or stationing anything like that shown in the materials volume tables. How do I modify the leader for station and offset labels to underline the top line of text?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm using the Multileader Align tool for my labels and it works great as long as my labels are left justified. I noticed this issue has been brought up before but didn't know a way to make it work for right justified text.
My problem is this: right justified text will not justify properly. It will not justify the same way that left justified text does. If you can follow this, leaders that have text that are left-justified will align according to their leader lines and everything looks neat and correct. The leaders that are right justified do not align properly because they align to the left side of the text. See the following screen shots and you'll understand...

I am trying to create a surface rise:run slope label for our company template file. I have it set using the default values that I want. But right now the text is just 1:1...where we want it to read 1V:1H.
how I can keep the label dynamic to the surface, but put the V & H in the label after the values.?
I think it is normal to want a style showing stationing, speed design stattions, etc.But.... Radii of curves ? Clothoid parameters ?
Why is the reason Autodesk developers think that designers dont want to see this information instead of "add labels, aligments, multiple segments,. etc ....

I am running Civil 3D 2012 and my Hydraflow crashes everytime I run an analysis. I am using a known Q and have input pipe inverts/slopes and pipe sizes. Everytime I try running an analysis I get the following message: Line 1, 2, 3 has no flow. Check pipe size(s) and slope(s). Then the program closes up.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to plan an access road which must run at least 2.5m away from an existing fenceline. I've put a few parallel road lines in at 3m distance, but at the fence bends I decided to put some circles at the bend points to give me a 3m radius. When I did this I was suprised to find that the circle extends further than my access road. I've dimensioned them both up, CAD is telling me they're both 3m away but they're clearly not at the same distance.
