AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Dragged State For Line Label?
Jun 24, 2013I have a line label style that I created for labeling bearing and distance. The Dragged State Component for display is set to "As Composed", because I want to just slide it down the line a bit, but have it remain at the same rotation as the line, and it is not allowing me to do so. I also have a label style set up for "Stacked Text" and that works fine when I move it away from its original line I labeled

Mar 27, 2012I'm having trouble getting my label style to flip when in dragged state. If I drag it off to the right, the text and line show up just fine, but if I drag to the left, the TC and FS head that way, but the line in between stays put.

Jun 5, 2012In order to create a swale, I created a feature line representing the bottom of the swale and graded up to an existing surface around its outer perimeter. The slope pattern looks ok when it initially generates the grading. I need to grip and drag certain points along the feature line in order to bring the top of slope lines of the swale close to the bottom of slope lines of an adjacent berm. As soon as I grip and drag the feature line, the slope pattern lines go awry. Instead of a short line then a long line, then short line, etc., the lines are all the same length. It actually appears as if short and long lines are overlapping each other.

Jan 30, 2013I'm trying to set up my point label styles and I don't understand how the dragged state settings work. The default setting is "as displayed" but then the leader does not flip, if I change the settings to "stacked text" the leader flips but the text is out of order. See the attached plot of some points to see what I mean, default on the right and stacked text on the left.
How can I set the point label so the leader will flip and keep the label components in the default order?
AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Profile Pipe Label - Dragged State Anchor?
Sep 24, 2009The labels normal anchor point is the bottom outside diameter of the pipe, but when dragged the anchor snaps back to the cl of the pipe.
The only workaround I was able to come up with is a "static" leader made up of two lines and an arrowhead block, which you can only slide up or down the pipe with the desired appearance but can't stretch.
The attached image shows the Civil 3D pipe label above and the desirable text/leader legacy version below.

Sep 6, 2012C3D 2013. We have profile line labels, some of which get manually edited (for example, change the "<[Tangent grade(FP|P2|RN|AP|GC|UN|SD|OF)]>" to a static number such as 0.29%).
However, if you CTRL+Click and select one of these labels and change the style of that one label, then the manual edits are lost and the label reverts back to the default string.
Is there any way to turn this behavior off?
AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Capture Drag Distance Of A Label?
Dec 13, 2012Any way to capture the drag distance of a Civil 3D label object?
If that was a property, then we would be able to make our Leaders display or not display based on the distance from the object. If I only drag a label a half-inch I might not want a leader, but if I go further I would like the leader to appear.
It would be easy enough to do this with expressions if you could make that property available in the expressions dialog.

May 18, 2012I've been generally having trouble with Civil 3D 2012 taking a long time to do tasks. One that takes quite a while is if I drag a Cogo Point Label. As stated it takes about 75 seconds. It will move to where I drag it immediately but then the program is unresponsive for a minute and 15 seconds.
In the past 4 days I've repaired C3D, tried 4 or 5 different versions of the display driver and did a windows update. A lot of commands, specifically Civil 3D commands, are very slow. Does this ring any bells?

AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Label Text To Be Center Justified In Dragged State Stacked Text
Apr 11, 2013In the dragged state, I don't want to use 'As Composed' because the label is composed to be parallel to the line, but I want it to flip to horizontal to the view when dragged. This is working fine with 'Stacked Text'
What is not working is the text justification. I want it to remain centre justified, as it is composed. But there doesn't seem to be any option for this when you use the 'Stacked Text' option for the dragged state. I thought that setting the 'Leader Justification' to false might do it, but that just makes it always left justified. Am I missing something here? Is there no 'Top right/bottom right/middle center/top left.....' option for Stacked Text? And if not, why not?
I'm in 2011.

In 3d 2010 I only can label a whole line, not only a portion that I choose. This has to be a label option still.

Jun 3, 2013I have set the default style for the drawing to a certain style by going to toolspace - settings and right clicking on point and clicking on edit feature settings ...under default styles i set it to the one I want for both point style and point label style......how come when I create a few manual points and then go to the prospector tab and right click on _all points, the point label style is not set to the default one I set it to as I described above? The points are not coming in the way I want them to?

The "Name" of Point is filled with the SampleID (like cdc-ss01-s1, cdc-ss01-s2,...) - see the attached file. From the HELP of AutoCAD C3D 2013, I have read/studies the "Point Tables" and "Point Label Styles" and I cannot figure out how to label the 8 points to show the "Point Number", "Point Elevation", and "Name" of Point (i. e. the SampleID like cdc-ss01-s1 & cdc-ss01-s2, ....).!!

I am using a template with the distance precision set to 2.
The drawing setting->Ambient settings distance precision are set to 2.
The feature settings distance precison is set to 2.
AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Contour Label Line
May 31, 2013I have been creating contour surface labels, which utilize a 3-point contour label line with grips to adjust, and this is my question:
when i create a single contour label, clicking specifically on a contour i want labeled, the contour label line with the 3-grips extends beyond several contours and thus places a label at every contour it touches. i can manually fix this by shorting the line, but this seems very inefficient.
1. is there a setting to have the label only placed on the center grip of the three?
AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Blocks In Line Label Styles
Feb 15, 2012I have a line label style that consists of two blocks (crowsfeet). The blocks are taking on the properties of the current layer when xrefed. I have enclosed a couple of drawings to show this behavior.
Open the "crowsfeet sheet" drawing. You will notice the crowsfeet are green.
Change the current layer and regen. The crowsfeet will change to the color of the current layer.
To take this one step further:
Freeze the current layer in the current viewport. The crowsfeet disappear.
Change the current layer. The crowsfeet reappear with the color of the current layer.
The objects in the blocks are on layer 0 with a color of bylayer. Changing the color to byblock produced the same results.
The only workaround I found was to change the color of the objects in the block to something other than bylayer or byblock.
