AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Add Leader Part To Leader Created When Drag Station Offset Label
Mar 6, 2012
C3D 2012 running with 64 bit Win7 all up to date on a capable Dell Precision
I want to add the leader part to the leader that is created when I drag a Station Offset label. This would be the part in a three point leader that goes horizontal for a short distance before the label text begins, similar to how a multi-leader is created. Looks weird having the C3D labels be the only "leadered" noted be without the landing.
My dragged state leader does not display properly. The attachment runs through my first line of text. My display is set to "As Composed" I do not want the stacked text setting.
Is there anyway to prevent AutoCAD from converting a MTEXT leader with a block element attached to a BLOCK leader when doing a copy/paste? See screen shot.
I am trying to create a station-offset label style that will drop the trailing zeros in the offset section - e.g. 15' instead of 15.00', but if the offset is not at a whole number, e.g. 15.01, etc. it will display the entire offset.
I created two expressions: IF(OFFSET-TRUNC(OFFSET)=0,.1/12,.00000001/12)
and this one: IF(OFFSET-TRUNC(OFFSET)!=0,.1/12,.00000001/12)
I then created two offset components, one called truncated, and one called full, and assigned the heights to match the expressions.
I have attached the file, the style is ACHD-Sta Off-Rt [copy]
I have been trying for weeks and still cat get it to work. I am trying to make my drag out leader to look like a pline with a width of 0 on one side and a width of 4 on the other for civil 3d 2012. See attached .
When I am in the file with the labels everything is the proper size. When I reference this file into my sheet file everything becomes tiny. Any legitimate solution?
Please see attachment. There are two structure label styles in the attachment. The one on the bottom has the leader attached to the edge of the structure and the one on the top has the leader attached to the centre of the structure. How do I change the attachment point for the top label so the leader attaches to the edge of the structure as the bottom label does? Can't seem to find the parameter to change??
I do not want the leader and label to flip. Is there a setting to keep the leader and label on one side? When I drag the left to a certain point the right note is the result. I want the bottom note to be the result.
New to civil 3d...I have a series of bore locations along an alignment that I need the station offset and distance. I tried POINT -> ALIGNMENT: STATION/OFFSET, and that prompts me to tell where i want the offsets to go. I want to be able to pick the center of each bore and have civil 3d tell me that information. What command do I use?
I am trying for last hour but cannot make this work. I have attached screen shot of a dynamic label with some text. The problem is as you add degree symbols and inch (") symbols and paratheses to the text, the leader starts to intersect the station value. I want to move the leader a little below the sta. value so the station vallue is readable. When I move the leader the text moves with it. I tried everything in edit label text option but cannot seem to fix it.
I would like to set up an alignment station offset label that when in the dragged state, offsets the arrowhead from the actual insertion point on the alignment in any direction and distance I specify. I am preparing some plans for a water line. I am working at a 1"=200' scale so all of the blocks representing fittings are scaled up so they are legible.
In some instances, the fittings are right next to each other. If I place an alignment station offset label at the actual station and drag it away from the alignment, the arrowhead is pointing to the station but not the fitting. Is there a way to offset the arrowhead of a C3D label in dragged state other than in the direction of the leader?
I created this label for my pipe crossing. I want to be able to start the vertical line at the invert, and be able to move the text up and down and have the line adjust.
Currently my dragged state has the arrow head size as 0 and visibility as false, since it starts the leader at the centerline of the pipe. But without using the leader, I cannot adjust the vertical line dynamically.
Typically when we have station offset for a storm structure shown to center of structure. How do you handle station offset with a storm structure label for say back of curb.
I am labeling station and offsets from my alignment for curb returns and such and for some reason if the offset point is directly perpendicular from an alignment PC or PT the label can't find the alignment information. It's like there is a blind spot.
how do you change their layer? i have been through the settings tab under "alignment", "station offset". i also right clicked on one and went through the properties.
I have dragged station offset and multileaders next to each other in the drawing. Everything is set to go on the same layer. I am using named (stb) plot styles. The layer's lineweight is set to .25mm. However, I usually make the leaders be lighter in weight - .13mm. I am using text borders on both of these objects.
I can't get both the text and border to be the same in both objects unless I set everything to Bylayer. Given that I want lightweight leaders, and heavier text, this is unnacceptable.
It seems that the StaOff label style text and border weight in DRAGGED state are controlled by one lineweight setting.
In a multi leader, the text weight is always, apparently, Bylayer, and the text border is controlled by the lineweight set for the leader.

How can I have an offset alignment that I created be the current label so when I start to pick offset of my current alignment I do not want to have to go back and change the label style to my own label style.
Is there a way to have the Arrow leader convert to Loop leader in one click. Our company standards use diamond tags and sometimes i have to change the arrow to loop by inserting a leader.
When I use qleader with mtext annotation , The arrow and texts are inserted as two unit. I can rember there was a facility to use this two objects as a one unit.
I have a leader that I do NOT want to explode with text at the end of it. Problem is, I need the leader part to be on a layer with a certian line type and a certain layer and I need the text on a different layer. How is this possible!? Also, I have AutoCad LT if that makes a difference (no express tools for example).
...Maybe some way to create a new text style that is linked to a certain layer since that is the only option in the props for the leader that seems like it would control that...?
I'm have a long span of conduits in this tunnel and need to label each of the conduits its 3-4 digit assignment in each viewport of each page. I made a center line to each of these conduits in the layer named that 3-4 digit code (ex, Centerline of ET23 is in layer ET23).
way to make a leader that will just tell me the layer of the object (centerline) I attach it to? Or any way to label the layer of an object?
Ok, I'm sure there is a very simple way to fix this that I just haven't yet discovered. When I insert a stacked dimension in the top line of my leader text, the spacing gets automatically adjusted for the hight of the stacked dimension and it adjusts the leader line up so that it actually passes through my top line. Can this be avoided? I have attached a picture for reference.
I would like to add a Leader Text to lable a part- referencing the Part Number or whatever, move the text close to the edge of the part, to remove the leader/arrow and make the txt rotate 90deg to be vertical. I have messed with style settings for a new Vertical Txt style, and Vert Dim style -(pointed to the Vert Txt style and adjusted Notes and Leaders tab)
i don't understand why in the Format Text window the "rotation" box is always grayed out. can you unlock it?
I have a dynamic block that I want to be added to a leader style. When I create the style and draw a leader I don't have access to the dynamic block functionality. Is there a way to restore this functionality without exploding the leader?
I have placed an subassembly into another assembly that I am working on. This sub was then chagned to be a "reference". Now in the idw, I would like to pull a leader to the subassembly and I want the text in the leader to say what is in the "Title" Property of the subassembly. When I change the format of the leader text to be Type = "Properties-Model" and Property= "Title", I get the title of the part in the subassembly, not the title of the subassembly. It is like the subassembly is a phantom assembly, but it is not. The workaround is to manually type in the text, but this is a mistake waiting to happen.
Is there a way to get the leader to note the title of the subassembly correctly.
I am trying to link component parameters to the assembly and leader text always picks up the particular part in the assembly rather that the assembly as a whole. I want to point to a door assy with leader text and say it is "DOOR A" using model parameters but leader text picks up the particular part I am pointing to with my leader text rather then the assembly.
I currently have a drawing with a road alignment and stationing. Is there a way to automatically station and offset a point that is not on the alignment line?
For instance, our alignment line is the centerline of the road. I need a station and offset of the new right of way line points at different places in the drawing. I want to use the alignment stationing to have it automatically create the station and offset at the point I choose.
Here is the setup, I received a survey base from another firm. All of there leaders of text are actually cogo points with labels. I have xrefed the file into my sheet file and rotated the view, so obviously nothing looks like I want. Typically I bring the text forward into my sheet and manipulate it here, but it is attached to a cogo point. I could copy the points and label styles into my current drawing, but this doesn't sound like the best practice. What is a good way to overcome this challenge?

how to set-up a style what i want to do is label the station and offset of the insertion point of a block by selecting that block and placing the name of the block at the end of the label. as such it would read sta: 14+58.25 - L12.50' P Pole
