I have a bunch of GIS points that have been inserted into a drawing. All the points have data associated with them, gpm values, that I would like to make more clear. Is there a way to filter and color code them with out doing it by hand?

In LDD I could label a bearing and distance between 2 points. (Points - not actual surveyed points, but 2 spots I click)
In 3d 2010 I only can label a whole line, not only a portion that I choose. This has to be a label option still.
Why doesn't the drag state work when adding a line label between 2 points in Civil 3D 2013.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have set the default style for the drawing to a certain style by going to toolspace - settings and right clicking on point and clicking on edit feature settings ...under default styles i set it to the one I want for both point style and point label style......how come when I create a few manual points and then go to the prospector tab and right click on _all points, the point label style is not set to the default one I set it to as I described above? The points are not coming in the way I want them to?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have created 8 points (from 4 locations with 2 depths in each location) in _All Points/Points. These 8 points are grouped into 2 Point Groups:
Points #1, #3, #5 & #7 for Point Group - (1) Depth#1 and
Points #2, #4, #6 & #8 for Point Group - (2) Depth#2.
The "Name" of Point is filled with the SampleID (like cdc-ss01-s1, cdc-ss01-s2,...) - see the attached file. From the HELP of AutoCAD C3D 2013, I have read/studies the "Point Tables" and "Point Label Styles" and I cannot figure out how to label the 8 points to show the "Point Number", "Point Elevation", and "Name" of Point (i. e. the SampleID like cdc-ss01-s1 & cdc-ss01-s2, ....).!!
I have an alignment and would only like to label stations and specific geometry points such as EC/BC. When I add geometry points to my label set it automatically gives me curve midpoints and beg/end of alignment. How can I turn off these labels so that I only get BC/EC?

It has straight lines on sides and curves on top and bottom. i managed to change the style of the text the way I want it (radius and length above, delta below). The problem i have is that I don't know how to change the height of the text. The option under "Text properties" in "Edit Label styles" is shaded ( I cannot change it).
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have an alignment label that I normally use to show the PVI's of a profile in the plan view.
This is a little unusual, but in a specific case I wanted to design my profile at one alignment, but show it at another. I designed my swale profile in the pathway profile view and then superimposed the swale profile on the swale profile view. I then went back to the swale alignment to add these labels.
It's a no-go AFAICT. The only profile available for me to select for these labels is the original ground profile from the surface.
The label associated to a grading point when is moved when is moved changes its size automatically and a leader appears. After this happen no control over the grading point and its associate label. refer to the image below.
View 1 Replies View RelatedC3D 2013. We have profile line labels, some of which get manually edited (for example, change the "<[Tangent grade(FP|P2|RN|AP|GC|UN|SD|OF)]>" to a static number such as 0.29%).
However, if you CTRL+Click and select one of these labels and change the style of that one label, then the manual edits are lost and the label reverts back to the default string.
Is there any way to turn this behavior off?
Is there a way to "Edit Label Text" in a Parcel area label? Similar to the way you can edit it in other styles.

I had to create a boundary map and place points to all corners. How to export these newly created points back into my data collector (Ranger) and also I'm trying to figure out how to print out a points list.

I have a large surface (over 1.5 million points and 20 000hectares)
I need to get a point file .csv from the TIN to be able to use it in another program.
-so i've extracted the points from my surface, but they are Autocad points.
-next step is to convert them to civil 3d points.
-I can not select them all when converting them or my computer crashes.
-so i select about 25 000 at a time, the converting takes roughly 10 minutes.
and i have over 1.5 million points to do.
how can i speed this up.
will more ram useful?
I have recieved a file with many points and would like to convert them into COGO points in Civil 3D. The problem is; I would like to keep the hole ID's as I convert, I've made a few conversions and lose the hole ID every time (not showing in Name or Description). Is there a seting I am missing to keep these? My aim to to organize the COGO points in different point groups.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a project that was started by leaving all the survey data inside the "All Points" group. So, I'm concerned that when I enter my as built survey points, that even if I put them into their own group, that the original surface will still look at them and just rebuild to my asbuilt data, effectively cancel out the purpose of the asbuilt survey. Will this happen?
I want to take the original points and put them into a group of their own, but I don't know if that will affect anything or not? I have several wetlands already designed on that surface with volume calcs already done too.
What should I do?

In the formular property I'd like to set the value of the manual property.
When I pick a feature line, the property dialog would show Feature line, and list the information.
Now for some reason, I get aecc_feature_line and the property dialog shows a different list of information.
How do I get back to the Feature line list.
I am having trouble with my display I can get autocad to display my property box for subassembly I have all my locks turned off for lock location setting and when I want to insert a sub assembly the window will not pop up and I also notice that when I pick a entity in my drawing my layer to that object will not become active in my layer tool box.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI draw property plats for a surveyor and looking for a way to add the bearings (for example: N 56 15' 32" E) along the property lines. Right now, I use the Distance command to find out the bearing, write it down, and then add it to the aligned linear dimension text. I'm guessing there's a faster way to get a bearing along with the distance without typing it in.

The file was created in version 2012 by another designer now it is being completed in 2013 by myself.
I can do a quick fix by creating a wblock of the problem lines and text etc to enable a print out without the GREYING
problem but once the drawing is closed and opened once again the drawing has GREYED whatever is in model space again. (note that xrefed lines etc are fine)
Ps I have attached the problem file with all the xrefs and jaz unattached/taken off etc

I use civil 2012, and have a drawing with over 400 attribute blocks that are all set to be "green" in the enhanced attribute editor, properties tab. I would like for all of the attributes to be set to "by layer". However, I find that the it only allows me to change one block at a time. As said earllier, I have over 400 blocks.
