I am adding on to an existing roadway. I want to match my exist.cross slope of the road way which will vary.
When I select to use the parameter reference LinkoffsetandSlope I get a slope, but it is in the wrong direction.The linkoffsetandslope is getting the grade from the existing CL of roadway and the existing edge of pavement.
I'm looking to make an assembly to follow the crown of the existing roadway which is to be milled and overlayed. In addition to being milled and overlayed there will be a curb bumpout which will be full depth pavement. The roadway does not hold a constant crown at 2%, it varies which is why I would like it to mimic the existing roadway cross slope. What would be the best way to go about making an assembly to model this. I have attached an image so that you may get an idea of the situation. I have a curb gutter line which I would like the assembly to target in both width and elevation. The single slanted hatch is mill and overlay and the double slanted hatch is full depth pavement (widening).

Can't figure out how to match gutter slope to outside lane super subassembly slope. Have super eop targeting a feature line with elevations, but when i check section editor gutter slope doesn't match pavement slope.

How can i change (smooth transition) my cross slope from +1.952% at St: A to -2.000 % at Station B. In intersection wizard.
View 3 Replies View Relatedhow to create the transition portion of a corridor design where my road cross slope has to uniformly go from 3% to the right to 3% to the left. I have the two regions set up, but I cannot get that "middle" or "connecting" region where the cross slope is "rotating" around my road profile center line to create this "+3% to -3%" transition.
I have been searching the internet and this forum, but cannot find a good explanation. There is info out there about setting vertical offsets, but not sure how to do this so the cross slope is uniform all the way through this region (i.e., making sure that if the slope is 1.234% on the right side, I will get 1.234% on the left side, etc.)
In attached file the normal cross slope of secondary road(AB) is 2% Right to left (Right higher). and for primary road cross slope is 2% Left to Right (Left higher). I produced this junction using intersection wizard and cross slope of secondary road only starts changing from start of curb return to match the long slope of primary road. Is this possible to increase this transition lentgh on secondary road to create smooth contours.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a fairly simple corridor, however, I had to modify the alignment, rebuild the corridor and resample cross-sections. Now my right daylight slope won't show up. It shows up in the section viewer, but not the cross-section. I had this problem once before and fixed it, but now I can't remember how I did...I have all targets, sections sampled match corridor sampling etc.

how to have exisitng cross slopes display on a bank of corridor cross sections...I see lots of posts on this but I am having trouble finding the answer. The link below from Add a section view grade label only adds "A" slope label.....I want all of them in all of my sections.

I have created a road for a pit mine (which is unlike roads I have designed in the past). The road switched back towards itself and I need to daylight the cut slopes to show the limits of the mine/road cut. However, my cut/fill lines are not showing up in my cross-sections, but the plan view is showing the limits of excavation.
I assume this is because my limits are intersecting, from each of the roads, the upper and the lower. How can I get around this, or why are my cross-section lines not showing?
With the default cross slope 2% in place and no profile targets, section views with subject sub assembly come up at 0%
there's some polyline width targets but no verticals...
I am trying to build a corridor using a conditional slope assembly that considers the roadway and links into the lots.
The corridor is divided into 3 regions. All targeting has been assigned.
The first region appears fine. The second and third show no links beyond the roadway.
I have an Input parameter called "Construction Slope" of type "Slope" that I would always like to be negative. As i did not find the possibility to restrict end user to inputing only negative value I tried to change the sign of the slope to negative if it is positive by using an "IF" expression (when used as a "Geometry Property" for a new link):
IF(ConstructionSlope<=0,ConstructionSlope,(-1)*ConstructionSlope)
However this expression produces an error: "Compiler error(s) encountered processing expression <...> Cannot infer a common type because more than one type is possible". If i remove multiplication by -1 then the error is gone (and the whole expression becomes meaningless as well of course). See even attached image.
The intersection wizard makes dynamic EOP profiles based off of the cross slope from the centerline. Well the intersection tool doesn't always work with funky intersection layouts. Is it possible to manually create a dynamic EOP profile based on the cross slope from the centerline profile?

I have everything needed for plotting of cross sections. Alignment, profile, assembly.
The "Corridor Section Editor" shows everything as it should be. Existing Ground, Final Grade, Labeling, etc. When "Create Multiple Views" or "Create Section View" only existing Ground shows. All layers are on.
Is it possible to have XS sampled assemblies displayed on individual cross sections? I know that the sample line group properties control which assemblies are sampled and displayed. Say that assemblies A,B and C are sampled and displayed on sections from 0+00 to 3+00. Can ONLY assemblies A and B be displayed on sections from 1+50 to 2+00, and A.B and C on everything else?

View 2 Replies View Relatedi need a shoulder subassembly that varies slope in relation to the lane superelevation slope. i know that i can get a subassembly for the shoulder that will follow the alignment superelevation xml data but in my case i can't use it because we are just adding a shoulder to an existing road. we're not changing the superelevation of the existing road, just milling and overlaying and widening. right now i've created a profile of the outside edge of the shoulder that gives me the correct shoulder slope but whenever i change my centerline profile i have to redo the shoulder profiles which is a real time suck.

So my question is, how do I change a daylight slope at a specified depth? For example, from the shoulder of the road I want a 3:1 fill slope to a depth of 10 feet than change to a 2:1 slope until it catches the existing surface. Can this be built into a subassembly such that if the fill is less than 10 feet it will daylight correctly at a 3:1 and if the depth is greater than 10 feet then it carries the 3:1 for 10 vertical feet and then changes to the 2:1 until it daylights?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have profile sheets I set up using our template. If I plot the layouts one at a time. I can see the existing grade line in the plot. If I publish all of the layouts at once. The existing profile doesn't plot.
I've checked the layer freeze setting and made sure there is a defined page setup to use in Publish. It's the same setup they plot individually with. I get the same result if I plot directly to our Toshiba printer or to PDF using the CutePDF driver.
How to find the cross section details like area and movement of inertia at particular cross section
in( solid works there is a direct option select the section and select the face and click on the calculate automatically gives the are and movement of inertia etc in part and sassy level also) but in inventor in part level its possible but in an assembly level.
I am building a surface and started looking at the triangles and found that some are going to non-existant points. I have unfrozen, checked, etc. all of my points to make sure they are not in the drawing.

The guitar (superelevations) in profile view is old. If I load again the style profile view, the data are the same about superelevations.

I have created existing and proposed surfaces in Civil 3D 2008 and I'm trying to create a volume surface to produce a cut & fill map. The problem I'm running into is everything I try to follow mentions choosing Elevation Banding (2D) as the style. The only style I have to choose from is Standard. Does the Elevation Banding (2D) style normally come with the program? Or is this something you have to create?

I am trying to run a parcel area report generator, and I get the above error message, along with the path xslParcel_Area.xsl and an advisory to reinstall the program.
I think it is pointing to the full path location of C:ProgramDataAutodeskC3D 2012enuDataReportsxsl.
The file (Parcel_Areas.xsl) exists in this location.
NONE of the parcel reports that I tried to execute work - they all return the same grammtically painful error message.
The undefined areas of a slope map now have a hatch to them and are plotting black. This map was created a month ago in 2012 without issues, upgraded to 2014 and now the undefined range has hatch!
