I'am trying to create profile from opening.I have found interesting method : Profile.CreateFromProfile.But every time i call this method "eInvalidInput" exception is thrown.
I am trying to call method like that:
Profile.CreateFromEntity(entity, Matrix3d.Identity);
I want to create a profile/wall style or what ever you want to call it for a raised deck flooring for external decking. I am looking at the decking material only. Not concerned about the timber framing sub floor material.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI want to transfer or copy the tool palettes (walls, doors, FFE) from one profile to another. I have all my tool bars, set in one profile correctly, but all the tool palettes are in another profile.
Is there a way to copy these tools into another profile? Even if I over-right another palette?
I am working C3D 2012. I have a proposed alignment and profile design by another firm that I had to tranfer into C3D. I had no problem getting the horizontal alignment to display from a text file. I tried to do the same with the profile by using the 'create a text file and create the profile from file' command. I got the POB, PI's, and POE to display. I then defined the VC. I wanted to verifiy that the profile was indeed accurate compared to what we were provided. So I tried to execute a profile report PVI Station and Curve Report - I keep getting an error that "No FG profiles in dwg".
I know the Proposed profile is indeed set to proposed in the properties. I have noticed that the icon next to the profile I create from the text file is different than the profiles created from scratch.
Is there a way to convert this profile to be recognized as a FG profile?

The intersection wizard makes dynamic EOP profiles based off of the cross slope from the centerline. Well the intersection tool doesn't always work with funky intersection layouts. Is it possible to manually create a dynamic EOP profile based on the cross slope from the centerline profile?

We have an engineer who is taking an existing surface and wants to show a proposed road 2" higher than existing.
I told him to simply adjust his assembly for his corridor to account for the 2" difference, but the County agency needs to see a profile.
My questions:
1) Is there a way to easily copy a profile made from a surface and "convert" it to a proposed profile? If we copy and explode, it turns into hundreds (thousands?) of tiny pline segments and it would be a mess to convert all those to a profile 1 by 1. If we make the corridor, and choose "profile from corridor", we do not have an option that could be used to represent the centerline.
2) Other than loss of dynamic updating), would it make sense to adjust the assembly so the top surface would be accurate, then copy the profile, explode the copy to a block and simply shift that (as essentially basic linework)?
since my new pc Civil 3D does not open with my profile that i have created when i still had my older pc , i used that profile for quite some time in civil 3D on my previous pc , but with my new pc i have to open Civil 3D and load my profile manually every time i open the program.
i have found a solution where you can add the profile saved path in the short cut which you use to open the program with.
i have tried that but i get an error saying i don't have admin rights.
which is very strange cause i have full rights on my machine and the IT guy has confirmed that.

Everytime I open a session of AutoCAD, I must select my profile.
Is there a setting that would retain my profile as current?
We have AutoCAD Architecture 2011. By default, our profile does not load the AEC commands. I am looking for a way to enable them in session. Short of this I am looking for what controls them.
We have a custom CUI that loads, it was created from the default AutoCAD one. If I switch to the AutoCAD Architecture profile while in AutoCAD the AEC commands do not become active. If I launch AutoCAD from a shortcut that specifies AutoCAD Architecture profile then the AEC commands do load. I have tried loading the AECARCHXOE cui as a partial CUI in our custom CUI but that does not load the ARC commands (either in session or as a new session)
what controls weather the AEC commands load?
I'm starting to wonder if I need to reset my program. When I click on my blocks, it won't allow me into block editor. I checked, and my Blockeditlock variable is set to zero, which should allow me in. But alas, it does not. When I type in "blockeditor" it says "read only". Which it's never done before.

I.e wall is 150mm thick and door is 1010mm wide and 2100 high. can the architrave go round the edge of the opening and adjust if the door shrinks to 910mm
I've been looking through old threads on here that all seem to date back to 2008 for this same problem I'm having, but the way to fix them only seems to work for Windows XP and I'm currently on Windows 7.
Problem:
I'll have a session of ACA 2008 running and if I double click on another dwg file it starts up another session of ACA instead of opening within the current session I'm already running. My SDI setting = 0. I tried switching it to 1 and that didn't work. Put it back to 0 and still didn't change anything.
One of the older threads on here [URL] .... says to go in to windows explorer/ tools / folder options, but that set up is different now in Windows 7 than it was in XP so I can't get to Files Tab and change anything for dwg.
I've recently run into a problem that involves xrefs. Basically, I cannot open files that are being xrefed in other drawings when those drawings are currently open. AutoCAD Architecture will only allow me to open the xrefed file as a read-only version. For example:
I have 1ST FLOOR PLAN (drawing file) xrefed into A-201.00 FIRST FLOOR PLAN (sheet file). If one of my team members has the sheet file open with the drawing file loaded, then AutoCAD will only let me open the drawing file as a read-only file. But if my team member has the sheet file open with the drawing file unloaded, then I can open the drawing file without any problems.
I have never had this type of problem with xrefs before and so I'm wondering if it's an AutoCAD Architecture 2012 bug.
I have a client who has a customized workstation in 2012 and is trying to move to 2014. We have gotten most of it done but theyaretryingtoloadacustomlipsroutineanditkeepsfailing.

I'm using ACA 2013 on windows7 64bit. I've tried purging and audit but still happens. It wouldn't bother me except its taking for ever to wait for them to stop running in command line.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI work with a national company that creates criteria drawings for new projects. They recently changed to the 2012 version but they save it down to 2007. There has not been an issue with opening files with my 2009 version until recently. All of the computers in our office are unable to open these new files, although they claim nothing has changed. My CAD will pop up a fatal error and shut down whenever I attempt to open the new files. I downloaded the 2013 trial version and saved the file down to the older version, but that does not work either. Newer versions do not seem to be affected by the files, just my 2009 version. I tried creating a new file in 2013 and saved down to 2007 format. When I try to open it 2009 there is no issue. besides purchasing a new version of AutoCAD?

The doors are still there but are not "anchored". Is there a way to fix this easily? I also lost everything out of my door schedule. I know I will get my schedule back when the doors get anchored back to the wall.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have this file that won't open in AutoCAD Architecture 2012, well let me rephrase that, it won't finish opening. It has 4 or 5 xref's attached. I was able to open this same file using 2010. Through process of elimination I was able to determine that a file that was exported from Revit MEP 2012 was the problem. When that file was detached the drawing would open just fine. To make things more interesting, I am able to open the Revit Export file just fine using 2012. What diabolical combination of event has happened to cause this SNAFU.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI just migrated from 2006 to 2012... I was able to get my old custom tool palettes into 2012 by opening the Content Browser and idropping them. However I noticed that these palettes are not 'refreshable' like they used to be. In the Palette Properties it says *This palette is not shared from a catalog*... after doing a search of that message in these forums I found this thread: [URL]....
I followed David's instructions:
1. Created a new Palette Group
2. Created a new palette in that Group
3. i-dropped tools from my custom catalog in the Content Browser onto that new palette.
Still there is no 'refresh' option...???

I am repeatedly running into the same problem of a data linked table losing its formatting upon closing and opening the file.

The document "Architecture.jpg" has an embedded color profile that does not match the current RGB working space. The embedded profile will be used instead of the working space.
Embedded: sRGB IEC61966-2.1
Working: Adobe RGB (1998)
is there a way to draw a line in the profile view and create that line into a feature line? and if there is can i project that line into the plan? i know that you can make a feature line in the plan and project that feature line into a profile view, just wondering if you could basicly do the reverse. i don't want to make a coridor.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI am working on a profile of a ditch and I want to create an enlargement of a portion of the profile. What I would like to do is shrink the vertical scale of the portion of the profile I want to focus on, creating what looks like a stretched view of the profile.
This can be accomplished by creating a block and shrinking the Scale X, but is there any way to do this feature with a viewport? (Creating a block of the profile isn't the solution, especially if I need to edit it later.)
If not with a viewport, is there any other way I can do this?
I have collected points across a 500m distance with easting, northing and height values. This line of points is measuring a stepped slope of a field.
I want, if possible, to create a profile (something that looks like a slice of the slope, so that the steps and profile of the slope is clear.
Can this be achieved? Will you be able to guide me through the process?
