Everytime I open a session of AutoCAD, I must select my profile.
Is there a setting that would retain my profile as current?

AutoCAD 2013 :: How To Set Current Imported Profile
Oct 17, 2012I exported a .arg file in the menu :'Options>Profiles' and I imported the '.arg' file back after I reinstalled the Autocad 2013. Then I selected the profile which I imported , and clicked the button 'SET CURRENT'
BUT It didn't work after I reopen the ACAD 2013. The current profile isn't the imported one still. I have tried again and again. How to 'set current' the profile I imported??

AutoCAD Architecture :: Lack Of Tool In Current Workspace?
Jan 2, 2014I have recently installed the newest AC Architecture. Unfortunately I have some problem with tools in one palette CHANGE.
When I choose one of them (f.e. sign door or sign window) I get this kind of allert that "I can not find the tool in the current workspace". I have no ide what can be a problem.
More over on my friend's computer all this tools work correctly but only from the ribbon (it isn't possible to use this tool directly from command space).

Nov 1, 2013We're transitioning from ACA2012 to ACA2014. I'm also trying to get away from putting my blocks in DesignCenter and having our users insert Annotation (tags) from the Ribbon bar.
When I insert our door tag (or any schedule tag) from the ribbon bar, it is automatically changing the text style to the current text style. I'd rather it just use the style built into the tag. I know that can be controlled in the Designcenter content (right-click) - but how do I change that from the ribbon bar?

Aug 13, 2013Just starting to use 2014, and so far not so good. I tend to keep the Properties Palette open and docked. In 2014, if my current layer is 0, any object I select in a drawing shows as Layer 0 in the Design tab of the Properties palette. If I change to a different layer, any object selected shows that layer in the Properties palette. If I start a new drawing, enter WALLADD and draw a wall segment, the A-WALL layer now correctly appears in the Layer Manager, but when I select the wall, the Layer in Properties is the current layer, not the A-WALL layer it should have gone on. Also, Quick Properties is on, but doesn't pop up anywhere.

Oct 16, 2012I'd like to create a script that checks the current document's color profile and checks it against a string, for example "sRGB IEC61966-2.1". My studio has a script that performs various functions to make sure that all the layers are visible/unlocked, checks for stray points, etc., and we'd like to add a check to the color profile because we handle a large number of files and this setting is overlooked a lot.
It's alright if this value isn't writable through script (we can just pop up an alert letting the user know that they need to change it), but I can't find where to actually read this setting! We're currently working on Macs and with JavaScript, but any nudge in the right direction.
Lightroom :: Embedded Color Profile Not Match Current RGB Working Space
Jun 16, 2013I installed LR5 from LR4 yesterday and each time I open an image in CS5 from my LR5, I get the following message:
The document "IMG_9082.CR2"has an embedded color profile that does not match the current RGB working space.
Embedded: Adobe RGB (1998)
Working sRGB IEC61966-2.1
What would you like to do?
-Use the embedded profiel (instead of the working space)
-Convert documents's colors to the working space
-Discard the embedded profile (don't color manage)
My camera's settings have it set with sRGB, LR4 and LR5 have sRGB and I have CS5 workspace as sRGB. This did not happen before.
Is it possible that when LR5 updated the LR4 catalogue, it changed the profile of all my photos? I don't know, maybe I've done something, but I can't see what as I don't remember changing anything.

Oct 22, 2010We have AutoCAD Architecture 2011. By default, our profile does not load the AEC commands. I am looking for a way to enable them in session. Short of this I am looking for what controls them.
We have a custom CUI that loads, it was created from the default AutoCAD one. If I switch to the AutoCAD Architecture profile while in AutoCAD the AEC commands do not become active. If I launch AutoCAD from a shortcut that specifies AutoCAD Architecture profile then the AEC commands do load. I have tried loading the AECARCHXOE cui as a partial CUI in our custom CUI but that does not load the ARC commands (either in session or as a new session)

let's say i have rotate the ucs about z axis 45 degrees and make it plan now i draw some things and then i change back to world

ucsxdir = 1,0,0
ucsydir = 0,1,0
but the display is still in the ucs z 45 (ucsfollow = 0) set the view to PLAN current (now the view is aligned) but the system vars does not change.
For a plan UCS, you would need to compare the VIEWDIR system variable and the cross product of the UCSXDIR and UCSYDIR system varaibles.

Sep 29, 2011Is there a macro/script/deisel that will automatically print a pdf (cute pdf autocad lt 2007) to current plot settings in current drawing directory and give it the current drawing view name and number? Disk space not a problem these days and would save time to have a pdf copy of all drawing tabs readily stored in the directory ready for issue.

Nov 21, 2013This repeats around 100 times in the command line when adding view port to a sheet. "ERROR: Could not generate sash area from window section profile. I'm using ACA 2013 on windows7 64bit. I've tried purging and audit but still happens. It wouldn't bother me except its taking for ever to wait for them to stop running in command line.

AutoCAD LT :: Printing And Retaining Lineweights?
Oct 21, 2013I would like to print a drawing with its ctb. file to a format that allows me to import it into illustrator without losing the set lineweights in the original Autocad drawing.
I've tried it once using a pdf writer, but when imported into illustrator it reverts to one line weight for all the lines.
Is there a better way of retaining the assigned lineweights (per the embedded ctb file) ?
will printing it as an .eps instead of pdf do? and how does one print to .eps?
AutoCAD LT :: AutoSave Not Retaining Files?
Jul 10, 2013I have Autosave set to 10min and the file location D:/Autodesk/Autosave, file extension .ac$. I see the progress bar appearing at bottom left, so I know the function is active. I had a situation yesterday where I inadvertently closed a drawing without saving the changes and thought I would be able to at least recover up to the previous 10min by renaming the last ac$ as a dwg; but when I looked in the directory there are no ac$ files, only .bak. I have just checked now and there is one ac$ file - for the currently open drawing. Why aren't the ac$ files being retained?

Sep 8, 2012I have a platform at level 13.275m and nearby there is a retaining wall at aprox. level 4.0m.
For the wall i've made a surface using feature lines from EG till level 15.0m and then pasted into the EG surface to create the 'barrier' for the slope. But when i do the grading with the fill slope projection to surface, when it reaches the retaining wall section, the contour lines go crazy and if i do a quick profile, the fill slope line (obvious) is iregular, rather than a straight down line (2:1) going from level 13.275m till it hits the EG.
