Is it possible in ACA2011 to explode a block, but control what layer the pieces go to?
I have a block for a closet rod and shelf , but it always has to be re-sized once in the drawing so i must explode it. since it was made on layer 0 it explodes to that layer and I have to change the items to the proper layer.
I need a way to count blocks (specifically employees on a production line), and I used to use a "count" lisp command that worked great. I'm thinking that lisp doesn't work in LT. I don't use Acad every day anymore, and I am quickly forgetting many commands and tricks.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI need to insert a table in paperspace tab that will continually count up blocks within a set area of model space ( i need to have 3 counts, 1 for each floor of a house i.e one table per tab for that floors blocks). I have used BCOUNT and DATAEXTRACTION but they only count it once and if i add more of a certain block it does not update the table.

I'm trying to count blocks from someone elses drawings. If you double click the blocks and 'edit attributes' appears.
I have tried using the command BCOUNT and EATTEXT but it displays unknown command for each. Is it a case that you can't use these commands on 2009 LT, or perhaps it's just not possible to do it on the blocks the way I have descirbed them.
Is it possible to count blocks in either the model space or in each layout? Would be very useful for fire alarm design, cause authorities require exact counts of devices.

I want to create a database of blocks so to speak by copying all the blocks into one drawing. I tried going through Design Center to copy the blocks in, but it won't let me just copy them. Is there a simple way to do this?

In a previous session I saw a routine which was counting the blocks which had attributes in them, but it doesn't really work, because some of the blocks dont have attributes.
Also is there a routine that counts the different texts that are in the same polyline?
Is there a macro/script/deisel that will automatically print a pdf (cute pdf autocad lt 2007) to current plot settings in current drawing directory and give it the current drawing view name and number? Disk space not a problem these days and would save time to have a pdf copy of all drawing tabs readily stored in the directory ready for issue.

I would like to select everything first. Then launch refedit and select all the blocks.
After that I would like to convert them to mass elements. When saving to IGES I would need to select everything again.
I pieced the following script together, but it fails. I think it is bexause of the request to select objects manually. Could I add a delay which would enable me to select an object?
Also it looks like ACADA is not accepting the "all" command when pselect is called by a script.

I created a block w/ attributes for my border and saved it for future use on other drawings. But when I insert it, even if the units are the same the blocks I inserted scaled smaller than the actual border that i wanted it to be.

I am asking the user to select points and insert a block at each of the selected points. On user exit from the point selection I draw a polyline connecting the blocks.
However, I cannot get the already inserted blocks to display until I complete the insertion of all blocks. How do I go about getting them to display as soon as they are inserted? We are having a problem with blocks not appearing after xreferencing a drawing. We can place blocks as normal from the tool palette, but as soon as we xreference a 2D site plan and select blocks from the tool palette, they will not place. You can see them when placing, but once you click to place it, the block does not appear. I have copied out the site plan to a new dwg file, still does the same thing. Everything has been purged and ran an audit in the plan drawing and also the site plan drawing. The block does not show up in the block editor either. I am trying to avoid redrawing the site plan like we had done with two models that were doing the same thing. Remodeling a vessel and rebuilding a skid composite corrected the problem with two other drawings, but redrawing this site plan would take considerable time.

I could probably just test to see if the block is an Xref and avoid it... but how could I modify this to check if it is loaded and still empty?

I'm using a blocklibrary, where I stored all my blocks, most of them have attributes.
Now I'd like to simplify my workflow and want to update the blocks that I inserted in a drawing trough LISP.
Is there a way to update all inserted blocks and attributes of the whole drawing a once? The idea is, that the LISP checks the whole blocklibrary and updates the inserted blocks that to not match with the once from the library.
I'm looking for an easy way to generate a on-line riser diagram of blocks that have been inserted on a floor plan.Here's what I was thinking.
For every instance where the block SLC_DEVICE IS insert on the drawing, the routine would insert the block listed in the "TYPE" and place text equal to what is listed in the "ADDRESS". The TYPE is the actual block name.
Each one of these blocks have a tag of TYPE and ADDRESS. What is in the TYPE tag is the block name of what should be inserted and what is in the ADDRESS tag is the text that should be inserted under the block.
So for example; the routine would find the first instance and the tag TYPE which is "Smoke_Detector" and the tag ADDRESS which is 01:03:001. The routine would insert the block "Smoke_Detector" with the text "01:03:001" directly under it. It would insert the next instance the same way a specified distance from the last; so on so on so on until all instances of the BLOCK (SLC_DEVICE ) have been inserted.
The other part of this would be the Block "NAC&SPK_Circuit" but you would use the Tags "Type", "Candela" AND "NacCkt" to generate the one liner.
I want to insert another drawing layout tabs contents in current drawing.
It's easy for MODEL tab, but for LAYOUT tabs, I dont know how!?

Some times we have to insert a Tiff file into a drawing and sketch over the top of the image. Occasionally when I go to print the file all I get is a blank rectangle where the image should be. Now the image does show in the print preview and it will print out normally sometimes.

I found the BlockTableRecord.BlockInsertionPoints event. It is meaning that it can only apply to the whole BlockTableRecord type rather than some individual block references (AutoCAD INSERTs)
I've not used AutoCad for probably 15 years. I used it in my government job, but have forgotten many commands. I have inserted a building survey into a new DWG, and remember that I can find a dimension on that survey, and use it to begin a scale for the drawing, so that I may make additions to the building drawing.

When I put a block that was created on 0 layer it will insert on my current layer? These blocks are on a network and I am the only one that has rights to modify them.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI am running into some trouble with user parameters that have been inserted into a dimension's "text box". I sometimes hide the dimension itself and insert these parameters so that iLogic can manipulate the upper & lower tolerance limits for a dimension.
The problem seems to arrise anytime one of the dimension's arrows becomes detached from the drawing (and perhaps for other reasons, too, although this is the only clear cause so far). I can reattach the arrow and the dimension seems healthy again, but if I go into the text editor, I notice that the link to any parameters that I've inserted has been lost. They appear as they were last set, but will not update if the parameters themselves change.
Is there a better workaround for this, or can we expect a solution in IV2013? I've invested close to a year's worth of work expecting this method to perform properly, and it will be a letdown if there's no solution.

I have recently installed the newest AC Architecture. Unfortunately I have some problem with tools in one palette CHANGE.
When I choose one of them (f.e. sign door or sign window) I get this kind of allert that "I can not find the tool in the current workspace". I have no ide what can be a problem.
More over on my friend's computer all this tools work correctly but only from the ribbon (it isn't possible to use this tool directly from command space).
I've got a .PDF of a survey attached (not overlayed) to my site plan construct...on a printable layer. In my sheet it shows up. When I print preview it's there. When it comes out of the plotter it's not there. If I print the PDF by itself through Acrobat it prints fine. Is there a bug here?

They are not updating When add any type of tag to an object. It’s coming up as –
I have download the sp2 and it seems to fix the problem, but then it comes back again. Some PC are working and other are not.
The only workaround I have got is to remove ACA from the regedit and run CAD again or run the update msi.
Using Civil 3D 2013Coordinates coming out of survey equipment are modified state plane GROUND (scaled up from the origin by the combined factor).Drawing is setup with state plane coordinate system with user defined transformation to establish geodetic reference and the ability to label lat/long or import Bing map data.Survey database is setup with "No Datum, No Projection" (data is already at ground, I don't want ot transformed).Import style is PNEZD and is set to use Northing/Easting not Grid Northing/Grid Easting.After importing points into survey database, coordinates of survey points match the CSV. This is good.After importing points from database to drawing, they are taken as grid coordinates, are scaled again and are off ~5,300 feet northeast.Why would Civil 3D assume the points in the database are grid and scale them when the import style used did not specify grid? Is there a setting or something I can do to tell Civil 3D to leave my coordinates alone?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a library of blocks that I built for our company to use. We recently upgraded from 2013 to 2014 and boy did it throw our library for a loop!
There is a check box (reflectivity) that leaves the materials black when the drawing shade mode is changed to Realistic (unless you go in and uncheck the reflectivity box) and while I have figured out how to alleviate that issue (by unchecking it on our tempate and saving it) I am still having a materials issue with our blocks.
I can open the block (and turn on Realistic mode) and all the pieces have their materials like they should. I then open a new drawing and insert the same block into the drawing .. one piece is sans material.
I cannot for the life of me figure out why it's there on one drawing but it gone when inserted. The new drawing has been purged and doens't contain anything it shouldn't.
