I have Autosave set to 10min and the file location D:/Autodesk/Autosave, file extension .ac$. I see the progress bar appearing at bottom left, so I know the function is active. I had a situation yesterday where I inadvertently closed a drawing without saving the changes and thought I would be able to at least recover up to the previous 10min by renaming the last ac$ as a dwg; but when I looked in the directory there are no ac$ files, only .bak. I have just checked now and there is one ac$ file - for the currently open drawing. Why aren't the ac$ files being retained?
We're using Premiere Pro Cc to edit a TV series, we went to save the project file and the application crashed, when we went to look for the project file, it's not there and the latest autosave file is three days old even though we've watched PP doing autosaves every 15 minutes. This happened a few months back and we lost the work. The only thing that may be relevant is that we're using a solid state drive, but it's always been very stable.
10.7.4/Mac Pro/PhotoshopCS6 13.0 - When cmyk converting a multilayered rgb file layers containing transparency doesn't convert to same profile as layers not including transparency, e.g. a product with a shadow - each on separate layers.
the product layer is converted to working Color settings but the transparent layer isn't and is converted completely different, both grayscale and UCR/GCR.
is it possible to trigger an Autosave before executing my vb.net-code? I'm rather new to vb.netcode and in case of an unexpexted error AutoCad sometimes crashes. If I Could trigger an auto-save before the code is run, no information in the drawing is lost, but can be obtained in an autosave-file.
I cannot trigger a Save of SaveAs, because i don't know if the user wanted to save the drawing, for examples if the user reads an older drawing, removes/deletes objects etc, but is unaware of the drawing being saved, it could result in problems.
Sometimes when Autocad autosaves my dwg's, one of the dwg's replaces the other one. So I end up with two identical dwg's with different filename.
e.g.
Lets say I have two dwg's up at the same time, called "Car.dwg" and "House.dwg".
Sometimes when the autosave is finished it ends up with a car on both of the dwg, and the one that previously had a House drawing on it, is now a car with "House.dwg" filename.
We are having an issue with AutoSave we have it setup to save to a certain fold every 10min and it isnt' saving to the fold. It used to save just fine and all of a sudden stopped.
I was working away at a project when my hand braised the ALT button and something else , suddenly the command line started going wild with line after line after line of I don't even know what, then the window just closed. My Auto save is on and I've looked for the file with no luck. I've tried looking in the temp files and so on like every thing on the web says but nothing. 3 hours of work I am going to redo in the morning since I've been working for 13 hours straight now..
In Acad Architecture 2013 30 day trial, Autosave and backup are not working, even tho they are checked in Options>Open & Save>File Safety... Where the autosaves should be, in C:UsersTomF there's no appdatalocalemp showing in Windows Explorer. I lost a lot when Paste special caused a crash (as it has more than once).
I've been using Autocad 2014 for several months now, and I've noticed that every couple days or so it turns off my autosave. I can check the box to enable it, and set it to 10 minutes, and a couple days later it will be unchecked and say 0 minutes in the box. I don't know how often it happens, I know it takes more than one day, but it's really annoying and one of those things I usually only find AFTER I have a drawing crash on me.
why i can set my autosave and autosave location and for the day it will stay on but sometime during the week it will uncheck by itself. could it be from a update?
My co-worker is having an issue with re-pathing the autosave location.
When it is re-pathed there is an error that says:
'The directory specified for automatic saves must exist and have read-write permission. The value previously saved for the automatic save files will be used.'
The file that it is linked to was just created, and the user has full administrative rights.
In turn this effectively makes the autosave not work.
I'm weaning myself off of Adobe's PDFMaker and learning how to publish.
I've got everything working but I'm prompted at an Adobe prompt (Save PDF File As...) for every sheet which is overwhelming when I have multiple drawings with multiple sheets.
I don't know how (or if it is possible) to make it just save to the default name and continue onto the next one.
I don't consider myself a minimalist in any way, but I like to keep my personal folders clean of any system files. I recently changed the path for the autosave-folder as it intruded my private work files. The problem is that even though I did change the path, every time I start AutoCAD a new 'Autodesk'-folder is created in my personal folder. It still contains the sub-level 'Autosave'.
2013 C3D crashes on me a little less than once a day. Fatal errors and recoveries are also quite popular. Today, the crash took Windows 7 down with it too - a rare treat.
I have Autosave set to 20 minutes and also have the box for creating a backup file with each save checked under Options > Open and Save.
When Drawing Recovery Manager opened today, the dwg I was working on says it was last saved over 1.5 hours ago. The bak file was last saved yesterday. Usually, there's a sv$ file, but not this time. The sv$ file is typically the most up-to-date file.
Shouldn't I see a "last saved" time and date of about 30 minutes ago for my dwg? Same for the bak file? Is there some other variable that I need to set?
I have recently converted mtext to multileader text & i thought it was causing some issues but now im not so sure. Some of my users are experiencing a long time to regen & it has caused some peoples computers to freeze up. Is there a setting or a variable that could be causing this? I am not sure if this is an issue with the multileaders or with autocad release 13 or 14 in general. I had the users turn regenauto off until i can find a solution.
If created a scripted benchmark test that I've ran several times on two separate machines to collect some numbers. One located at each of two offices - at opposite ends of a WAN.
There is is one time duration that is way different... in looking at the two machines today I discovered that one machine has Autosave disabled and the other has Autosave set to 30 minutes.
Does Autosave run during a script? ... the script also runs lisp code... Does Autosave run during running lisp code?
I attached two external DWG using the add source drawings in map, then I queried a single drawing into my current drawing. Which I must admit was pretty cool. However know every time I save, autosave, or Publish I get the message below.
I would like to print a drawing with its ctb. file to a format that allows me to import it into illustrator without losing the set lineweights in the original Autocad drawing.
I've tried it once using a pdf writer, but when imported into illustrator it reverts to one line weight for all the lines.
Is there a better way of retaining the assigned lineweights (per the embedded ctb file) ?
will printing it as an .eps instead of pdf do? and how does one print to .eps?
AutoCAD is constantly losing settings and commands that I give it. The Undo command is one of them. I'll set it to undo [ALL] and after a while (a couple of days maybe) I will find this command on a different setting. This has been happening to many other commands as well.
I have a platform at level 13.275m and nearby there is a retaining wall at aprox. level 4.0m.
For the wall i've made a surface using feature lines from EG till level 15.0m and then pasted into the EG surface to create the 'barrier' for the slope. But when i do the grading with the fill slope projection to surface, when it reaches the retaining wall section, the contour lines go crazy and if i do a quick profile, the fill slope line (obvious) is iregular, rather than a straight down line (2:1) going from level 13.275m till it hits the EG.
I've attached a picture to show the problem better.
i have many drawings in dwg but wish to upload onto my website...how can I convert a dwg file and retain its detail so it can be the same on my web page....have converted dwg to jpeg tiff gifff etc but it loses detail
