AutoCAD Civil 3D :: How Autosave Function Supposed To Work

2013 C3D crashes on me a little less than once a day. Fatal errors and recoveries are also quite popular. Today, the crash took Windows 7 down with it too - a rare treat.
I have Autosave set to 20 minutes and also have the box for creating a backup file with each save checked under Options > Open and Save.
When Drawing Recovery Manager opened today, the dwg I was working on says it was last saved over 1.5 hours ago. The bak file was last saved yesterday. Usually, there's a sv$ file, but not this time. The sv$ file is typically the most up-to-date file.
Shouldn't I see a "last saved" time and date of about 30 minutes ago for my dwg? Same for the bak file? Is there some other variable that I need to set?

If I have multiple drawings open in AutoCAD 2012 does the autosave function only apply to the current drawing open or does it apply to all drawings ?

I have a HP laptop on which I run AutoCAD 2012 AND Civil3D 2012 both of which for some reason do not have the function keys working as normal. Oddly enough if I attach an external keyboard, the function keys work as expected.

I have a bit of a problem with Autocad map 3d 2012. When i try to insert a scale bar or a north arrow or any other carthographic element i simply can't find the layout elements that are supposed to be in layout tools tab. I've done a lot of research online and can't come up with anything.

I want to set my autosave (In Options) at 30 minutes but it seems that my Civil 3d 2012 sets itself back at 10 minutes.
I even try to set it in the dialog box with SAVETIME command at 30 minutes but it gives me the a prompt telling that its been setted at 10 minutes.
Using : Autodesk Civil 3D 2012
OS : Windows 7 - 64 bit pro

I attached two external DWG using the add source drawings in map, then I queried a single drawing into my current drawing. Which I must admit was pretty cool. However know every time I save, autosave, or Publish I get the message below.

Trying to do something as simple as y=x^3 (Explicit Mode). Set xmin = 10, xmax = 20 then tried y(x) = :
1in *(x^3) -- no good
(x^3)/1 in -- no good
(x/1 in)^3 -- no good
Error is that "Equation y(x) contains errors. Expected units are length".
The point here is: Why should typing in such a simple equation as y=x^3 be so difficult??? Can't even do (x*x*x)/1 in & make it work.

i have problem with pan function, it doesn't work on scroll button, i have windows 7 (64 bit), microsoft wireless mobile mouse 4000 and autocad 2011, i have downloaded new software for mouse and changed wheel button to middle click and i have changed mbuttonpan to 1 in autocad, still not working.

I'm running Photoshop CC 14.1.1 on MacOSX 10.8.4 and I have the following problem:
The functionality 'Export for web' doesn't work and also it's not possible to open .png files. I've tried to delete the preferences 'Adobe Photoshop CC Settings' but that didn't seem to work.

CorelCad seems to match up fairly closely and exports nicely to my AutoCad LT 2011, mostly, but I can't seem to get the Export to CorelDesigner function to work. It goes through the conversion process, but the file never actually generates. I have the Trial version (registered).
Does CorelCad has an ALIGN object (entities) command?

I'll attach photo/photos and send them out through the "Share" email function through Outlook. The Outlook "sent" file shows that emails and pix go out, but they never arrive. Can I switch to GMail somehow?

I've clicked link on two layers and set 'Link Set' to 1 on both. I want to make a selection, and move what is in it. But with the contents from two or more layers, not just one. The move tool seems to always move the background layer, although it's locked. What am I missing. I've been looking for this basic feature for a long time. How does the link layers function work?

I'm trying to mirror some geometry in my Maya model of Warrior.I do this by duplication special in X axis. I get the geometry duplicated..but it is also rotated around Z axis.
I don’t want this rotation. I had this problem also before on some other geometry...but I solved it with Freeze geometry. The problem was that the geometry axis system was rotated. I think this is caused whit Mudbox because I was using also Mudbox and I rotated the geometry there.
Now the Freeze function doesn’t work. The axis system is still shifted. How I can set this axis system to the one that is set in Maya? Or duplicate it whit the Axis system set in Maya ?

I have made several Adobe Edge Animate projects and have inserted a stop trigger for the "home" arrival after animation intro. I just created a new project and can't get the stop trigger function to work. When I preview it plays through the entire timeline. I've tried several different combinations of triggers - sym.play from () at the beggining of the timeline and then adding a sym.stop at () and no matter what, it plays through the entire timeline.

When the import dialogue box is open in Premiere Pro CC, I sometimes need to use the search box in the upper right-hand corner of the dialogue box. The system will allow me to enter a search term, but it will not do the search. I'm using Windows 8.1 64 bit. Are others experiencing the same problem?

My parents have Photoshop Elements 8 and all of the images are stored on a external hard drive. My dad organized the hard drive in very vague categories (things like I:/photos/spring 2004/spring 2004 - 1. We are looking to change the folder structure to one that is easier to navigate (I:/photos/vacations/new york city 2003)We are trying to avoid loosing tags in the organizer.
I tried File -> Move with some of the photos. In one instance, it took the originals and moved them. In another it renamed the photos and copied them to their new destination.Should we go back and delete the originals once they are moved to their new location?

I was working on a project in Premiere Pro 6. I had imported about 200 files and almost completed the project. I tried to import another file and the import function would not work. In addition, it disabled about 90 percent of the program. Menu selections had turned grey. I closed the project and program and restarted, opening a much smaller project. Worked OK until I tried to import. The import wouldn't work, and the program was disabled. This is not a case of actually selecting a file to import. The function crashes before you have a chance to actually select a file. On deadline.

Is there a trick to getting the new Color Range selection function to work on a retina Mac Book Pro? I am quite familiar with the color range selection in the previous version of Photoshop, and used it regularly. I've decided to try as simply as possible by using a flat image (no layers), and trying to select colors. I've increased the contrast in the image to make dark and lights much easier to pull out.
I've explored setting the sample size to point-sample up to 3x3, and 5x5. I've also set the resolution of my display to 2880 x 1800 (to reduce the possibility of anti-aliasing problems). It will not make any selection though, using the eye-dropper sample. Using other options will work, such as Highlights, Shadows, Skin Tones, etc., but it won't do anything with Sampled Colors.

I am trying to use the "Export to pdf" function as opposed to plotting as a pdf because the "Export" function seems to make a much smaller file size. However, when I "Export to pdf" some of my layers are not showing up in the created pdf.
The pdf created when I plot to pdf looks fine. I am using the "current layout" and "current" page setup options in the "Export to pdf", so it is using the same plotting options as plot to pdf, but the "Export" function is not displaying some layers.

I had my first go at GIMP last night following a video I found on YouTube.I managed to make some progress.
The main problem I had was trying to find the layers box which is supposed to appear on the RHS of my screen but is absent. I had a fiddle about with Layers in the options toolbar at the top of the screen but that didn't work.

I typically use the function keys to toggle osnap, polar, orthomode etc. on & off. Now what happens is that when I use any function key it changes the setting for the previous F-key press. It does this once, then reverts to normal behaviour. For example:
F3 Osnap On
F3 Osnap Off
F3 Osnap On
F10 Osnap Off
F10 Polar On
F10 Polar Off
F8 Polar On
F8 Ortho On

I have just installed X5 and need to know, exactly, what options are supposed to appear in the Application Dropdown. Is, for instance, Power Trace supposed to be there (in draw and photo, etc). The reason is that I cannot find it. It makes no difference if there is a document or not - it is simply not there, nor is it referred to anyplace on the page.
