AutoCAD 2013 :: Drawing Keeps Saving To A Temp File?
Aug 1, 2013Whenever I save a drawing, it goes to a temp file. I have to do a 'save as' to bring the dwg back to the original folder. Our in-office guru thought it had something to do with the new AutoCAD 360, but I have never even signed in to that, and when we did open it, nothing was in it.

Oct 16, 2012I changed the configuration in Tools/Options/Open and Save/File Save, to save as Autocad2004/LT2004 Drawing (*.dwg). But sometimes automatically the program saves as Autocad2013. It is critical for me because I work with people that still use Autocad2004.

Apr 12, 2013AutoCAD 2013, 60-90 days into it, upgraded from 2007.
I have 2 of 4 workstations with this issue, AutoCAD will automtically save the file when the files is closed, w/o any prompts to verify of we want to saved or not.
I have my Options|Autosave turned off, but this should not affect the save on close it should only create a continual ac$ backup file.
This is now the 2nd time this has occured. In early March we noticed this and in dealing with AutoCAD (Suscription Service) we finally deceided to restore AutoCAD to factory defaults, which did fix the issue at the time. However it also meant that I needed to retore all the pathways and our standards. Once completed, I paid particular attention to ensuring that AutoCAD was NOT saving the file on close and it was doing so up until earlier this week, when I noticed it SAVING on close again.
Now most of you might think, hey thats a good thing, however, we routinely will test modifications to our layouts on our working files, but dont want to actually modify those files and then we would simply close the drawing w/o saving thus ensuring that those mods were not saved.
In March, both 2007 & 2013 did this, however only my 2013 is affected now.
AutoCAD 2013 :: Publish Requires Saving Drawings Before Creating A DSD File?
Oct 23, 2013When I am working on several drawngs at the same time, I use the Publish command to plot them as a group. However to save the settings as a DSD file for future use, every open file needs to be saved. Why is this? Is there a way to disable that requirement?
There is no reason I can think of besides "by design" for this. The DSD file is only a list of drawings and their plot settings and is not dpendent in any way I can think of, to whether or not one its drawings is open and not saved.
Lightroom :: Couldn't Update Format Of Its Catalog File Because File Appears To Be Damaged
Nov 14, 2013I've got a catalog that work fine in LR4.4, but when I try to upgrade them to LR5 I get the error, "Lightroom couldn't update the format of its catalog file because the file appears to be damaged." The catalogs aren't damaged as they work perfectly in LR4.4. I urgently need to update them to a new mac with LR5.

After I first installed the Creative Cloud and downloaded Photoshop, I attempted to open the program and it said "file is incomplete or damaged".
I tried deleting it out of the applications in the side folder to re-install thinking it would get rid of it but the tab is still there.How do I delete Photoshop to re-install? Is that possible?

Apr 28, 2013I have Photoshop Elements 6.0. I was working on an image with 3 layers and I'd been saving very regularly, then my computer crashed. It didn't crash while I was saving but it must have still been saving when it happened because my file got damaged. Now when I open it, it comes up with a message saying 'This document contains Adobe Photoshop data which appears to be damaged. Continue and ignore the Photoshop data?' when I click ok it then says 'The embedded ICC profile cannot be used because the ICC profile descrition is invalid. Ignoring the profile'. When the image opens its completely flat and black. I've tries a few recovery programmes but that didn't seem to work. I found a temp file but I don't think it'ss a real temp file because it doesn't have an extension.

AutoCAD 2013 :: MEP 2013 Not Saving Profile Nor Workspace Settings
Aug 15, 2013Just upgraded a user to Autodesk Building Design Suite Premium 2013 but AutoCad 2013 and AutoCad MEP 2013 are not saving settings.
On first use the crosshair is large and angled, not standard. If I run "Rest values to default" then the settings are standard until I either restart AutoCAD or open a drawing then have the same strange cross hair.
Have tried creating a new profile, setting it as default startup profile by altering the shortcut but no matter what settings are not saved and revert to strange cross hair once AutoCAD is re-opened or a drawing is opening.If logon to computer as a user without a roaming profile all works fine.
AutoCAD Inventor :: ILogic Error Cannot Find Excel File After Saving File As Template
Dec 6, 2012I'm linking an excel file to an .ipt file with iLogic code determining if the Material type is a certian value it will find the correct material thickness. These file work great when working on them thru Vault but when I "Save As Template" and create this file where our other template files are located (not Vault) this fuction does not work. I have realized that I had to place the a copy of the excel file in the same file folder as the template ipt, but even this does not fix the issue.
I recieve this error:
Error in rule: Material, in document: Part6
'MWW Materials (Inventor).xlsx' could not be found. Check the spelling of the file name, and verify that the file location is correct.
If you are trying to open the file from your list of most recently used files, make sure that the file has not been renamed, moved, or deleted.
It seems completly countintutive that just saving the file as a template file would cause this not to work when all files that are required are located in the same file folder. Maybe I need a reference to the excel document within the iLogic code.

Dec 6, 2012I'm using autoCad 2013 for Mac on OS lion (Educational Version). Often when i'm working for longer periods, when I try to save my work, it will suddenly go to my desktop, and the program wont respond. My work then is lost, and I have to open the recovered file, or work from the Auto saved file, and sometimes they didn't save aswell.
My files are saved on a shared dropbox folder, with some external references. On relative paths, i've unatteched them and it still crashes. I've tried the _audit command, and that didn't work either. I've been searching with appload for the MdiTab17.arx entry and try to unload it, but I can't find that file (maybe it's a windows solution).
AutoCAD LT :: 2013 Program Keeps Locking Up When Saving?
Jul 15, 2013This issue has been an irritant for a few days and today is almost constant. When I do a quicksave the program hangs up and I get a Program Not Responding message. The panels all go white and the desktop is ghosted like there is a film across the screen and I have to wait 2-3 or more minutes for things to resolve.

Even setting the sky background to 1, then 0 doesn't work. When I save, it reverts to a perspective view and turns the sun/sky back on.

Mar 6, 2013So we have an HP T1100 plotter and we want all the .pc3 files on the server. I go to the plotter in my devices and printers from the start menu and I add in all my custom paper sizes. Then I create a .pc3 file that points to a system printer on my machine for that plotter. I then move the .pc3 file to the server. Next thing I do is go to .pc3 file on the server and filter out all the unneeded papers sizes (arch, jis, iso, etc.) so all that shows up in the plot dialog box are the custom sizes I created. I then re-path autocad to the server in my options. All is fine so far, everything plots fine.
Now I go to another machine and point autocad to use the folders on the server for the plotters. I go to plot and the .pc3 files are there but when I pick the paper size drop down selection, all the arch, jis, iso sheets, etc... that I filtered out are now there. Well, I can go into the .pc3 file on his machine, re-filter out all those unneeded paper sizes and all is well, but then I come over to my machine and all the unneeded paper sizes are there again. It goes back and forth. I save on one machine and then the other one is messed up.
I cannot get the unfiltered papersizes to stay that way on the .pc3 file thats on the server. Why is this? I know I have the .pc3 file pointed to a system printer on my machine but we have the same printer on each machine with the same drivers. We could just put the plotter on the server so there is no system printer but that is not an option right now.
AutoCAD Inventor :: 2013 Slow With Saving And Updating?
Aug 8, 2012I installed IV13 onto four of our workstations including the update 1.
Due to the size and complexity of our project we are using Vault to manage all of our parts and drawings.
We had issues with 2012 but managed to get around them. I was hoping 2013 would solve some of them but we are experiencing extremely slow performance with 2013. It takes at least 15 to 20 minutes to open and update drawings. Swopping between an assembly and IDW to do updates takes another 20 minutes to refresh and update.
This is happening on all four of the workstations.
I have come across a few forums with this same issue and I have tried setting up the options as described in them but have had no difference in performance.

AutoCAD 2013 :: Saving The Default Settings When Starting Up In 2014?
Aug 21, 2013I am installing AutoCAD for the first time in a lab at a high school. We have roaming profiles for each user. When I launch AutoCAD for the first time as a user, the program goes through it's first time configuration, check the "Privacy Statement" and uncheck the "Show at Start up" on the welcome box. After I log off and log back in and launch the program again, it goes through the setup again and I don't have the setting I had changed on the previous launching of the program. I think it has something to do with the roaming profiles because when I login as myself (I don't have roaming profiles) it works fine.

Oct 19, 2012I just completed my first topo using Civil3D 2013 (yay!) and now I want to send it to a client. However, when I save it as an ACAD 2007 file and go to open it using ACAD 2007 the spot elevations and all text and symbols associated with them disappear. I can't imagine that you have to have Civil3D to view a Civil3D file. Is there something I can do here?
I did not create a survey database with these points, just imported the .txt file from the field.

Jul 1, 2013I have been migrating dozens and dozens of .pat files from one version of AutoCAD to the next for many, many versions. Most recently in AutoCAD 2013 the .pat files were stored in the C:Program FilesAutodeskAutoCAD 2013SupportPatterns - worked fine. During the migration to 2014 I received an install error report stating that this subdirectory did not exist and could not be created. Alternately it stated that the new default path C:UsersUsernameAppDataRoamiongAutodesk|AutoCAD 2014R19.1enuSupport will be used instead.
At first I created the Patterns subdirectory where it could not be done automatically. No luck. Then I placed the Patterns subdirectory in C:UsersUsernameAppDataRoamiongAutodesk|AutoCAD 2014R19.1enuSupportPatterns and no luck.
