All of a sudden and out of the blue this window fails to apprear when trying to save a drawing to another location or to a different file name.
AutoCAD 2011 still has this funciton so have had to go back to using the earlier version.
I am using civil 3d 2012 when i click open and save as not show a window its show command line choose file <c:folder location like this.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have the student version of AutoCAD 2012 on an HP laptop with Windows 7 Home Premium OS. I originally installed AutoCAD in June of 2012. It worked fine for 9 or 10 months but now whenever I select File/Open, File/Save, or File/Save As, AutoCAD stops responding and the spinning blue donut appears. AutoCAD never comes back and I have to close it from Task Manager. I uninstalled AutoCAD and reinstalled it, and the process went smoothly. However I still have exactly the same problem with the File operations. I apply Windows updates, but other than that have not made any changes to the software on the laptop. AutoCAD works fine for everything except the File operations. I am able to save with CTL/S and am able to open AutoCAD files from File Manager.

I´ve been using eTransmit command in previous versions, now that I´ve switched to v2012 there´s no longer support to save all dwg xrefs as dwg references in the eTransmit popup window. My dwg xrefs are instead attached as blocks.
Autocad 2012 was working fine until a week ago when it started taking a long time to open drawings--even search for drawings on our network. It also takes at least 30 seconds to save files, where it used to take 5 seconds at most.
I found the AutoCad 2012 and AutoCad LT 2012 SP1 Ribbon Hotfix, which sounded like my problem, but it is for Product Version F.107.0.0 and I have Product Version F.51.0.0.
All of the sudden, when I go to the pull down menu and click "Save As", instead of the window opening where I can physically choose where I want to save or save over, I get the file directory in the command line. I even typed in the folder directory and it still doesn't save it there. Why the sudden change?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a ttf font called circuitb.ttf. I have used it in drawings on my ACadLT2002 on Windows XP SP3 and it works fine putting electical symbols in as text when I need them on lables fixed to equipment.
I have installed the curcuitb.ttf on my windows7 x64 machine but the same drawings opened up in LT2012 shows a W. i try and repaste in the ground symbol (which the character map says is latin W0 and it comes in as W.
how do I make it show as the symbol its suppose to be?

View 5 Replies View RelatedWhenever I try to use the "DWG to PDF.pc3" driver, I'm getting TIN triangles in my PDF. They don't show up in the "Print Preview", just in the resulting PDF. They also don't show up if I print directly to a printer. Only in the PDF. Never saw this before installing SP2.1.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI'm using autocad for mac. I've just saved a pdf in illustrator as an autocad dwg and opened it in autocad. It shows up but is not visible in my paperspace.
I've made sure it's on in the viewport. I've even tried to plot from modelspace but the lines don't show up in the plot. They are visible in the modelspace. They have all imported on the same layer, though some are different colour - some of them do show up, but not many.
i run inventor fresh out of the box... no custom settings, text or anything.

View 9 Replies View RelatedWhen i use standard Acad-functions or even simply select an object like a polyline from land-survey,the "ribbon" changes to the corresponding Topic of the object,and the Map3D window looses its focus. (normal windows-mouse-cursor is displayed, not the AutoCAD crosshair). After clicking in Map 3D window again, crosshair reappears,and work can continue.
It doesn't matter if Map3d-windows is in windowed mode or fullscreen,it also doesn't matter if the windows is only on one of my 2 monitors or on both.
didn't have this problems using Topobase Client 2009,2010,2011...but since 2012 few problems evolved... (drawing-order-bug, memory-leak problem etc. etc.)
I have a problem with the graphics window in Inventor 2012, it happens once a week now, but getting more frequent the graphics window turns white and i cant see anything, i need to re-boot to get it back.

I'm doing a program in Visual Basic 2010. In one of the forms I put a button that when clicked must open AutoCAD 2012 and make a drawing in it. The user will decide where to save it.The steps are these:
1. I added the references Autodesk.AutoCAD.Interop and Autodesk.AutoCAD.Interop.Common to the Visual Basic Project. That's OK.
2. I wrote this in the heading of the form's

I recently loaded several versions of AutoCAD on to a Windows 7 machine. ALL versions will open a drawing if double-clicked from windows explorer, but if I try to open through AutoCAD, the program freezes as soon as I click on the "Open" button. This is true for AutoCAD 2010 through 2012.

I also cannot open multiple instances of ANY version of AutoCAD in Windows 7.
URL....I am using PSE 12 as a photo editor for Aperture 3.5.1 and the photo is duplicated (as a tiff) in Aperture and PSE editor opens with the image. When I close the file and say to save the file it brings up the save as window.
I tell PSE 12 to "on first save -- save over current file" it now brings up the "save as" window and won't save over the file (changes the file type from .tiff to .tif)

View 7 Replies View RelatedHaving problems with parts lists not showing the correct part numbers of the parts included in the assembly. In some cases I've made a new part by renaming an existing part but when I create a parts list it shows the part no of the original existing part used to create the new part, even though the new part is the one in the assembly. Also I have just had a number of similar assemblies and needed to produce parts lists for them. I created the first one and then used 'save as' to rename the drawing including the parts list. Then when I re-opened the newly renamed drawing I assigned it to it's new assembly. However the parts list did not update to show the new part numbers included in it's new assembly.
Is all this a glitch in the system or is there something in the set-up which is causing this problem?
I'm working with our new copy of AutoCAD 2013 and using the Visual LISP IDE to create code. I also have an AC2009 machine right next to me for other tasks. On the 2013 machine when I click the "Load Active Edit Window" button it switches to the console screen but there are no messages printed like:

This of course is making it extremely difficult to debug. I have checked the environment settings and they are exactly the same on each machine. The AC2009 machine prints the messages but the AC2013 machine is just giving me a blank console screen.
Sometimes, when I have two or more drawings open in the same instance of AutoCAD, another tab opens up on the Windows Taskbar. Here's the scenerio; I have two drawings open. On the task bar, Autocad's icon shows two drawings open. Somewhere while drawing, AutoCAD will start bogging down, especially when switching drawings. On the Window's Taskbar, it will now show three drawings open. Two of which will be the same drawing. There will only be two drawings open. The drawing which is currently on top for editing will be the one that shows up twice. If I change to the other drawing, it takes a really long time to swap. Sometimes, it will sit there for a minute and then swap back to the other first drawing on it's own. I try going back to the second drawing again, and the same thing happens again. The only way to stop this from happening is to completely shut down AutoCAD and restart it. I think it has something to do with the ribbon. And I also notice it more often after doing a CopyBase, but not always.

I can see everything that I'm doing in the layer preview thumbnail, but all I see on the main design screen is the 'transparent' background. The cursor shows up and looks the part of whatever brush I'm using, but nothing happens on the main screen. I haven't even got a chance to use this version

Well, apparently one of my settings has been changed, because now when I go to File - Save As, AutoCAD wants me to use the command bar to save, which is much more complicated than the window. how to get the Save As window back?

They show up fine in the menu bar brush window, in the Preset Manager, in the Brush Preset palette above my layers palette, but they will not appear in the brush preset fly-out window. This is where I do all the manipulating of my brushes, of course, so this is essential. I have created many, many brushes and done this many, many times and have never had this problem.
