Whenever I try to use the "DWG to PDF.pc3" driver, I'm getting TIN triangles in my PDF. They don't show up in the "Print Preview", just in the resulting PDF. They also don't show up if I print directly to a printer. Only in the PDF. Never saw this before installing SP2.1.
View 9 RepliesI have created a drawing of a jug from a CAD learning manual, however when I enter HIDE mode the tessellation lines show as triangles, not rectangles as shown on the image in my book.
It appears fine before HIDE (horizontal and vertical lines only) -- I've tried FACETRES but that just creates a higher amount of triangles during hide.
Is there a way to adjust how it's shown in HIDE mode?

Putting in a simple berm crest, and the triangles skip right over a certain section. Swap edge does nothing and adding points seems to make things worse. I have been able to fix this problem before, but only by deleting my surface and then putting all the pieces back in at once. Then it's perfect.
I think part of the problem may be that the "Contour help" I put in at the blue major contours is screwing things up.I have had the same issue when putting in down-slope channels as well.
I am running 2011 c3d on windows 7 with 15 GB of ram.
An error message I get is "reading triangles from file" and the program locks up to where you need to do a reset on the computer. I have an existing ground surface that is data shortcut into the file I am opening when I get this error. The existing ground surface is about 5 mg in size. I'm not sure if this is causing the error.
i am trying to add as a breakline. i have not been able to get this particular line to work as a breakline and the surface keeps drawing triangles through the line like its not even there. The figure properties show that it is a breakline. The figure prefix database brings the line style in as a breakline from the start.

Today I opened a file that has previously worked perfectly well, only to find that when I open my surface in Object Viewer and begin to rotate it manually, the triangles making up the surface do not appear. I have the contour lines and border (what is enabled in the Edit Surface Style/Display/Model tab) although the triangles (which should be displayed as well) do not appear. Other surfaces show like they should.
Is there another option other than the Edit Surface Style/Display/Model tab and the VISUALSTYLES command?
using Civil 3D 2013.
I added three feature lines to my surface as breaklines. But the triangles still cross them. Triangles shouldn't be crossing breaklines.

I noticed that when surfaces cross or pass close to each other some extra triangles show up trying to stitch together the surfaces. I can not find an option that can stop this, eg "not create extra triangles". Why these extra triangles occur? Can you limit it?

I'm trying prepping in hopes of sitting for my Autodesk Civil 3d Certification exam at AU. The chapter I'm currently reading through talks about deleting triangles from the surface.
So now I'm wondering about the pros and cons of both methods.
What I would like to achieve is a section band style for bulk earthworks and simple access roads that shows the design level at Grade Breaks only. The problem I am having is that Grade Breaks are being recognised as where the sample line crosses a triangle, not where the the grade actually changes/crosses a feature line.
A have a number of simple platforms, that I have created using an infill from feature lines, usually these platforms are surrounded entirely by feature lines of the same height. As to be expected, Civil 3d creates a few flat triangles, and as a consequence, all of the points where the sample line crosses these show up on my band style. Is there any way to achieve this band style?
I have a ttf font called circuitb.ttf. I have used it in drawings on my ACadLT2002 on Windows XP SP3 and it works fine putting electical symbols in as text when I need them on lables fixed to equipment.
I have installed the curcuitb.ttf on my windows7 x64 machine but the same drawings opened up in LT2012 shows a W. i try and repaste in the ground symbol (which the character map says is latin W0 and it comes in as W.
how do I make it show as the symbol its suppose to be?
I'm using autocad for mac. I've just saved a pdf in illustrator as an autocad dwg and opened it in autocad. It shows up but is not visible in my paperspace.
I've made sure it's on in the viewport. I've even tried to plot from modelspace but the lines don't show up in the plot. They are visible in the modelspace. They have all imported on the same layer, though some are different colour - some of them do show up, but not many.
Has instances where you set your tolerance for the maximum triangle lenth to say 50m to reduce the amount of triangles along the edge that run at long distances. When I do this I end up with multiple surface holes and I'm not sure why as there are points in the area.
I thought well maybe it's because i should've reduced my max triangles first then added breaklines. Would this matter? I also thought I could add a line to the surface to fix the holes vs. deleting surface lines along the entire edge of a surface for many many miles.
All of a sudden and out of the blue this window fails to apprear when trying to save a drawing to another location or to a different file name.
AutoCAD 2011 still has this funciton so have had to go back to using the earlier version.
i run inventor fresh out of the box... no custom settings, text or anything.

We've uninstalled & re-installed the tools. registarted the tools many times. Nothing seems to be working.
View 9 Replies View RelatedIn 2010 and previous releases I recall being able to show the feature dimension by right clicking "Show Dimensions" and then being able to double click on any visible dimension and change its value. I don't see this behavior in 2012. Is there a setting to turn this on?
View 7 Replies View RelatedHaving problems with parts lists not showing the correct part numbers of the parts included in the assembly. In some cases I've made a new part by renaming an existing part but when I create a parts list it shows the part no of the original existing part used to create the new part, even though the new part is the one in the assembly. Also I have just had a number of similar assemblies and needed to produce parts lists for them. I created the first one and then used 'save as' to rename the drawing including the parts list. Then when I re-opened the newly renamed drawing I assigned it to it's new assembly. However the parts list did not update to show the new part numbers included in it's new assembly.
Is all this a glitch in the system or is there something in the set-up which is causing this problem?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI am editing an old file set up by another firm that is used by our clients to keep track of room sizes etc, which has a room data table and room tags tied to area polylines. It has worked just fine on our 2013 Acad Architecture, but when I sent them (saved down to 2010) back to our client, using 2012 Acad Architecture, the tags disappear and the table is unpopulated.It seems like it must have something to do with the file originally being created way back when, along with some quirk between 2012 and 2013.

I have been trying to create DXF in AutoCAD 2012, Civil 3D 2012 and Lt 2012 and every time I try to open the DXF after creating it, it comes up with:
Error in APPID table
DXF rear error on line 21308
Invalid or incomplete DXF input - drawing discarded.
I've tried saving it various DXF formats: 2000, 2004, 2007 and 2010, and all show up with the same error.
I never used 360 sor put these project file in the cloud whay would I get this notification?

I have lost the ability to create a pipe network in a single drawing. Sorta. I can create a pipe network, and label it, and see it in my toolspace, but it won't display it for any style in any format. I can bring in a data reference and label those, but can not see pipe or structure outlines or anything to that end. I have tried to recover, audit, purge. I am at the end, currently creating the pipe network, data referencing it in, and then just drawing lines between the labels.

I created my surface from the contours but when i try to label them with elevations, nothing. I label them by contour-mulitple with interval. All that is inserted are tic marks at the designated interval.

View 4 Replies View RelatedWe recently received a LiDAR data in the form of an .asc file. Brought it fine into Civil 3d.
However, the level data is in mm so levels are showing as 98450 instead of 98.45. The level ranges from 98450 to 166260.
When I create a surface and set the style to show contours, it only displays contour lines below 100,000. Is this a limit in Civil 3D or am I missing some setting somewhere? I'm using the UKIE template btw.
I have created a corridor of an exit ramp. Part way through the corridor, the left side slope isn't generated.
The subgrade doesn't exist. In the Sideslope to no side slope.png image that the corridor has a side slope and ditch at 10+600. Also in the 10+600.png image. But at 10+610 there is no side slope. There is OG surface out far enough, but it seems that in the 10+610.png image that there isn't enough OG surface. Orignally there was survey data missing in this area and it was added after the fact to the OG surface. Why doesn't the corridor recognize it, if that is the case. I have updated and syncronized the heck out of everything, but it still doesn't seem to work.
I should point out that this is in meters (the cross sections are 10m apart) and that it is the same Assembly being used for this area. Also all targets are consistant through this area as well.
