In 2010 and previous releases I recall being able to show the feature dimension by right clicking "Show Dimensions" and then being able to double click on any visible dimension and change its value. I don't see this behavior in 2012. Is there a setting to turn this on?
View 7 RepliesI am using 2008. In previous releases I was able to double click on a feature in the tree and edit any dimension I wanted to, including the "extrusion dim". If I wanted to just edit the extrusion, I would RMB and edit feature. Now when I DBL Click in the tree, it is the same as the RMB used to be. Now to edit any dim other than the extrusion, I have to edit sketch.

I can only get to the dialog that shows info on the block and when I right click, I only have a few commands come out of the flywheel. I rebooted, but no go.

It freezes the screen like the window is open but no window on the screen, almost like it opens off of the screen where you can not see it, the program has been reinstalled but still have the same problem.

When some of our lisp programs get run, you can no longer double click on text to edit it in paper space. If I put text in model space, I am able to double click to edit it. Is there a variable for this?
I just verified something else, if I move the text to be outside of the View Port, I can double click to edit the text. If I try to double click to edit while inside the viewport then it switchs to model space withing the viewport.
I cannot edit a dimension that I add to a drawing, IV simply ignores my request when I select Edit from the shortcut menu. This is not a retrieved dimension. My only workaround has been to edit the dimension properties in the part file to display as I would like on the drawings.
I've checked the application options, under Drawing tab, I do have "Edit dimension when created" checked, yet IV does not display the edit dialogue box upon initial creation of the dimension.
I have imported a jpeg image by double clicking it and it is showing as a vector in the workspace.All the tools on the left are greyed out(eg clone brush) except for the text tool.On selecting the text tool instead of the usual box showing a blue bar appears on top of the screen which can be moved about.

I created holes in the model as a 1/4" tapped hole
Yet when I show the dimensions in the drawing they show the minor dimension.
How do I get the 1/4" to show? I have selected the feature and still get these results.
So autodesk has added linear symmetrical dimensions. How about adding the double arrowhead that should be on the trailing end

I am trying to retrieve dimensions from an assembly. The features that I want were created in the assembly itself, not on the original parts in the assembly. I can manually dimension some of the features, but there are others that I need to retrieve. When I retrieve dimensions from the assembly, I am only given the original dimensions for the parts.

Seems to work fine with linear dimensions by dropping them in, but for the life of me I can't make it work with anything that uses a leader. Either the arrow on the contgrol frame shows up, which I don't want, or it places the control frame right on top of the dimension.

While in sketch mode, while in a part, how do I dimension a new feature to the mid point of the surface?

I'm having an issue where while in the .idw it allows me to select the quadrant of the swept feature but then it says it's not attached.

I need to disable the "Set sketch scale by the first dimension" feature.
The feature is nice under normal circumstances, but in my case i need to insert a dxf sketch and then draw around it in inventor. When i start to dimensioning the sketch then it scales the inserted part.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI am having trouble with dimensions disappearing in the drawing when I update my model.
I add the correct dimensions then when I update my model, all dimensions on the drawing disappear and I have to make them all again.
A little more info:
I am using the tube and pipe feature to drawing tubing inside of an assembly.
Process:
1) I draw the tubing routes and populate them (to show an actual swept tube)
2)Right click on the newly created route in the explorer and open the tube.
3)File->new->drw.
4)Add necessary dimensions to the tube drawing.
5)Save and close drawing
Up until this point everything is fine.
6)Edit the tube route in the assembly and save
7)Upon opening the drawing of that tube route ALL dimensions have disappeared.
Is there some way we can turn off the auto highlight feature in inventor 2012? I am working in a large assembly and every time I move the cursor over the assembly it is trying to pre highlite parts and assemblys and it really causing alot of delay in my work.

When I dbl. click on a line, polyline, etc, I have it set up to open the Properties Pallet, (not the quick properties box). Problem is, the first time I dbl.click on a no object it opens the Properties pallet no problem, but the second time i dbl click an object, the properties pallet completely disappears from the screen. When I dbl click the object a 3rd time, the pallet comes back. I have it set to auto-hide, but not disappear. How do I get to use the dbl. click feature to open the properties pallet every time?
I'm adding in inspection dimensions for a PPAP submission drawing and have found that I cannot set hole and thread dimensions as inspection dimensions. I'm quite surprised to find that this option isn't available. Is it there, just hidden, or is it really not available to me?
To the top right of this picture is the inspection dimension I want and to the left the thread dimension which I can't get into this format.
It shows the old position of lines after a zoom, or rotate or move, etc. And it shows half of my dimension values.
Also I seem to have some ghost projections of assembly parts when I do the assembly tutorials.
Like holes and wire frames on strange places on my screen.
I have to zoom in and out randomly and wish for it to go away at some point..
ok i have been using photoshop cs6 since january and it worked fine but now when i double click on the the ps icon, NOTHING HAPPENS.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm using PS4 Extended on Windows SP3 and whenever I double click on a JPEG, TIFF or PSD file, it will open Photoshop but the file itself does not open. I've checked to make sure PS4 is the chosen program to open with both in Properties as well as in File Types. Dragging and dropping a file into Photoshop will work.

The attempted operation did not produce a meaningful result. Try with different inputs. Thicken feature is where I left "End of part"
If I tick "Automatic blending", it still works, but I want to create a new solid.

In Bridge, when I double click on a image, it opens the image in Windows Photo Viewer rather than in Photoshop CS6 Editor. I have checked the preferences but all that it offers me is to open in Camera RAW. How do I change this?
View 5 Replies View RelatedThis problem has happened to me quite a bit only with CS4, so i thought i'd finally ask. Practically all of my images are set to open with Photoshop. My probelm is that many times, i double click an image on my computer to open it in photoshop, and then photoshop comes up and doesnt open it or even attempt to. The image usually does open if photoshop is currently not open, and is lanuched by double clicking the image though. The problem seems very random and does it to JPEG's, PNG's, GIF's and BMP's and TIFF's as far as i am awear. PSD's seem fine. Note that this problem has not been resolved by resetting preferences as i have recently doen that and it is still here. how to make it work?

1) If I double click on a file, it opens in Illustrator, but it does not open with my default workspace settings. If I open the file from the file menu, my preferred workspace opens.
and
2) If I have one file open, I cannot double click on a second file and have that file open in Illustrator. I just get the little spinning circle and then it stops. I can still open a second file from the file/open menu option.
We are using CS6 and running windows 7.
i run inventor fresh out of the box... no custom settings, text or anything.
