Dec 11, 2012I'm having a problem throught CS6 with the Open, Save, or Save As dialog boxes not opening for a period of time after clicking on the desired functions. It can take over a minute just to get the Open dialog box up to browse for a file. Eventually, the dialog boxes open, but during the time that it's trying to open, the program is unresponsive. It is happening with all of my CS6 programs. I have unistalled and reinstalled with no fix. The programs are updated.

Mar 20, 2014URL....I am using PSE 12 as a photo editor for Aperture 3.5.1 and the photo is duplicated (as a tiff) in Aperture and PSE editor opens with the image. When I close the file and say to save the file it brings up the save as window.
I tell PSE 12 to "on first save -- save over current file" it now brings up the "save as" window and won't save over the file (changes the file type from .tiff to .tif)

Feb 12, 2013I created a simple batch action that makes a small change to an EPS file, and then exports to WMF.
On the last step, I record File>Close. This opens the "Save Changes to original doc?" dialog window below (see graphic). I choose "Don't Save", and stop the action.
However, each time it stops the batch on this dialog box.
Is there anyway to automate this step so that it will not interrupt my batch?

May 3, 2010I am just trying to save a PDF from my illustrator file. However, when I go to Save as, and select PDF, no dialog box opens to allow me to set how I want the file outputted. IF I just hit enter, the file does save.. its just like the Dialog box is hidden or not appearing. The reason I need the dialog box is because I need to add bleeds to the PDF and my default save doesn't do that.

Apr 27, 2010While "Draw" of Coreldraw X5 is working well, Corel Photopaint X5 does not "Save", "Save as..." or "Export" files. It just does nothing, when I choose to save a file under "something.cpt". It works, as long as it is a JPG, but not as a CPT. I am working on a Win7, with CorelX5 in german. Support told me to reinstall.

For example: I am working on a series or collection of designs. Each design has multiple artboards in it that make the files rather large. I am making minute changes to each one that require grunt work. I would like to be able to open 10-20 files at a time, copy and paste the chagnes i need, hit Save All and walk away. So is there a way: a command, a script, something that does this?

Oct 14, 2012we are having big problems with our illustrator cs5.1 on windows 7 since today.
For some reason it started crashing when we want to save both new and existing files...
if we open a or existing document in cmyk color mode and just have text and shapes etc in the file it will save it as normal but it will crash trying to save if we placed anything into the file such as a jpeg and it will also crash if we changed the color mode to rgb.
we have tried all we can think off...deleting the illustrator setting files...uninstalling and reinstalling..even with the adobe suite cleaner tool..
Illustrator :: Will Not Save Files As CMYK Only RGB
Jul 11, 2012For some reason I can no longer save .pdf files from Illustrator and Indesign in CMYK color modes. That is, the file will save, but it always ends up as an RGB file. I've reset my Illustrator preferences on startup and I have deleted the ai prefs file as well. I've also done the same for Bridge, InDesign and Photoshop.
Why this would happen and what I can do so I can create CMYK PDF files again? I need to send art (created in InDesign) to the printer in CMYK color space.
I am working on a Mac. My operating system is OSX version 10.6.8.

Sep 26, 2013I'm using the save for web function to save a large number of files (not batch saving)usually, when I open a file and start saving for web, it will remember the folder that I most recently exported to, and by default open that folder for that file, until I "save for web" into a different folder.
Out of seemingly nowhere, the save for web seemed to "forget" this folder (and any other folder I tried to save to), and now defaults to the "Documents" folder, causing me have to click through to find my intended destination folder. I'm on CS5 & Mac running Mountain Lion. On my work computer (exactly the same, Mac + Mountain Lion) I am using CS6 and have not encountered this issue.

The 'Use Artboards' feature is on the Save As... dialog but it's disabled. It looks like there was an extension (Illustrator HTML5 Pack for CS5) available at one time but its appears to have been removed from Adobe's site.

Aug 2, 2012Problem: When using Illustrator (CS4), saved files as .EPS, do not have the appropriate Illustrator icon on the file. When I click on them to open, instead of opening in Illustrator, the file open in "Preview".
NOTE: ".AI" files saved, do not have the correct AI icon either, but do open in Illustrator.

Oct 16, 2013I am working on six very similar map documents. They all are moderately complex with layering, drop shadows, and some placed raster files. I have linked rather than embedded the big tif raster files.
The confusing thing is that some of the illustrator files save in 2 seconds, and some of the files save in 2 minutes.I have compared all the settings, and I don't see what I'm doing different on the ones that take a long time to save. All big placed files are linked, not embedded.
The only clue showing a difference is that the files that are taking a long time to save are about 200mb in size. The files that are saving quickly are about 1mb in size.
Illustrator :: CS6 Will Not Save Files - Unknown Error Has Occurred
Apr 16, 2013I am not able to save my files and illustrator gives the message 'An Unknown Error has occured'. In a previous discussion transparency is called out as the culprit however I am not using transparency in my document and have checked all the items. I have also tried copying the work into a new ai file however this also will not save. This is has happened to me about 5 times since I updated to CS6.
Update - I just closed Illustrator and lost all my work and then an Adobe update window showed up asking me to update Adobe Air. I recall an Adobe Update window appearing once before when I had problems solving. Could the Adobe update window interfere or prevent me from saving my documents?

Feb 19, 2014I work in a print shop that prints biggish stuff. I will frequently have files that postscript to close to a GB or more. Working on simple vector art with a few images in CC is not too much of a problem, but I still notice CC is slower than CS 6. The big problem is when I get a few 200mb PDF's, or files with layers of transparent PSD files in them etc, big busy files, then AI CC really bogs down, or frequently crashes altogether. CS 6 is MUCH better. I don't have the font issues, AI CC works fine with simple files. Saving & opening these big files is such a problem, I just save them back to CS 6, but that causes problems too, I do not want to, nor should I have to have 2 versions open at the same time.
I always try to optimize the files as best possible, but it is tough sometimes as they R supplied by the customer, and the time it takes. We save to a Windows Server 2008 R2 box over gigabit network, which I know is not best practice, but no choice with the sheer volume of files. Would B insane to try to keep track & copy them back & forth, and it was never a big issue with CS 6. I am the first victim in our office, but the other 3 Mac Pro's will B switching over to CC this week, and I know the operators will B crying.

Photoshop :: CC Crashes When Use Save As Dialog Box
Aug 13, 2013This is happening intermittently, most often after flattening a multi-layer image converting to 8-bit then trying to save as a jpeg, the error occurs as various points during the "save as" dialog. When I installed a 3rd party plugin (correctly installed and up-to-date NIK collection) the error occurred more or less on every "save as". I'm running Windows 7 Professional 64-bit. I've tried resetting prefs and I've removed the 3rd party plugins and I'm back to crashing about 30% of the times I use "save as"
When the error occurs It appears to have an event 1000 in the event log. I've copied the "system info" and one of the crash report texts below:
