Since upgrading to Illustrator 17.1 I can no longer select slices in the Save for Web dialog, nor can I select a slice on a different layer than the one it was created on.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI try to copy+paste a shape from Illustrator CS5 to Photoshop CS5 (Windows). My goal is to recieve a shape layer I can use in photoshop. But it just copies it as a VectorSmartObject and I can't convert it to a shape layer. I read, that "normaly" or at least in the Mac version a dialog box should appear, which let's you choose how you want to paste it in ( SmartObject/ShapeLayer/...). This doesn't happen. Is thia bug?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm using the file dialog snippet as the foundation for a save as dialog box for saving a new copy of my template assembly to a project folder. Is there a way to disable the ability to click on a file in the window which puts that filename in the input box? The assembly file name is standardized and pre-"calculated" by my code and its a decent hassle if you accidentally click another file because the user would either have to rewrite the file name by hand, or cancel out of the dialog box and re-navigate to the project folder.

I created a simple batch action that makes a small change to an EPS file, and then exports to WMF.
On the last step, I record File>Close. This opens the "Save Changes to original doc?" dialog window below (see graphic). I choose "Don't Save", and stop the action.
However, each time it stops the batch on this dialog box.
Is there anyway to automate this step so that it will not interrupt my batch?
Is there a way to create a selection from a slice in CS5?

However, when I go to Save as, and select PDF, no dialog box opens to allow me to set how I want the file outputted. IF I just hit enter, the file does save.. its just like the Dialog box is hidden or not appearing. The reason I need the dialog box is because I need to add bleeds to the PDF and my default save doesn't do that.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm having a problem throught CS6 with the Open, Save, or Save As dialog boxes not opening for a period of time after clicking on the desired functions. It can take over a minute just to get the Open dialog box up to browse for a file. Eventually, the dialog boxes open, but during the time that it's trying to open, the program is unresponsive. It is happening with all of my CS6 programs. I have unistalled and reinstalled with no fix. The programs are updated.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI need to make slices out of all the counties in a state. The map has each county in a different color, so it's easy to use the magic wand and select the county outline.
Is there a way to then save that selection as a slice? It would sure beat manually tracing the borders of each county individually.
I want to open a "Save File Dialog " with some default path.Like when user run that script I want to open a "Save As" dialog box with default path "/Volumes/<shared name>/<folder name>/.. ."I am using File.SaveDialog(prompt, filter);
but it doesn't open to the location by default that I want to open.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have PS CS and I'm experiencing something odd. Whenever I save a slice, it appends info to it, regardless of what I set in the slices preferences dialogue box. So, selecting save for web and choosing a slice, then naming it header.gif will end up with a file of header_13.gif (whatever slice number it is). I'm sure it didn't used to do this, or have I lost my marbles?
I have to go to the folder and rename every slice manually. Surely Adobe didn't intend this so what am I missing? Also, if I set everything in the slice preferences to NONE, leaving just .ext as the last option, every slice is saved as _.gif, regardless of what I type into the filename "save as" box.
I did a search on here and a search in Google but couldn't find anyone with this problem so maybe I have software conflicts?
Also, the PSD isn't longer than 27 letters (I've seen that as a problem before).
I'm trying to slice an image using the filter-web-slice function but I was wondering if there is a way to customize the function or change its properties in the Python-Fu. I need gimp to slice by columns (start in the top left corner slice each grid down the column then proceed to the next column. Right now all I can get gimp to do is cut by rows. Normally gimps function would be fine but I need the image labeled a particular way so I can use the individual files in a map for a game. I'm making a 118 images so renaming them by hand would take too long.

What happens is when I hover the mouse near two or more objects a little blue box icon appears telling me that there is multiple objects there. Then, if I click, it asks me which object I want to select. URL....

With regards to selection cycling, when it's turned on, the dialog box pops up in the middle of my screen which is exactly where I DON'T want it as that's usually where I'm working and it causes all kinds of selection issues. Regardless of the settings I choose in the options, it comes up in the middle of my screen.
I've tried setting the position to static and then dragging the box to the side but on the next click, it pops up in the original centered location. I've also tried every possible configuration in the options box to stop this behavior.
I am creating a street banner and I need to slice it in threes. What is the best method to approach this?

9-slice scaling doesn't appear to work when applied to symbols based on an embedded raster image.Is this a known limitation or am I doing something wrong?It works fine with vector-based symbols. I'm using Illustrator CS6.

"Illustrator now honers 9 -slice scaling of symbols. Any scaling done on symbol instance with 9-slice scaling option in legacy version will look different now. Do you want to retain the 9-sclice scaling option for symbols?"
I click on the yes button. But what does this all mean?
When I do enter in this file it is distorted. How do I change the legacy so that it will reflect the origional file.
I am using Photoshop CS5 and when I save for the web, my saves are extremely contrasty. When I save normally they are fine. I have tried every setting I can find in the Save for Web dialog box.
