View 2 RepliesI used a template to start and have done some extensive modifying to it. My site consists of 4 pages with the corresponding tabs at the top of the page. The top 1/3rd is identical from page to page....the content on the bottom 2/3rds changes. I did all the editing in Photoshop and am now trying to convert it all to html. I have sliced the index page and saved it to html. When I go to slice the second page, the slice numbers dont match up from page to page. I am basically relabeling all my slices. Also can't I just make the bottom 2/3rds of my page change instead of having to reslice the identical top of every page. I have browsed around and I know its possible but I can't pull anything together do mainly to lack of terminology knowledge on my part....

i draw a circle using ms-word.
after that i saved it as a webpage.
I opened the saved circle image in photoshop then using the slice tool. i sliced to top, left, right, bottom and middle part.
after that i jumped to imageready. there i saved the optimized as html page.
after saving i removed the middle part of the image i replaced the middle part with some photoalbum script.
Here the problem starts. All the pictures are separating in the html table.
I want to put a html table border as an ellipse shape.
I have been working with PS for a while now, and can hold my own, but someone asked me the other day if I could slice up an image and put it into html from a .psd file.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to slice an image using the filter-web-slice function but I was wondering if there is a way to customize the function or change its properties in the Python-Fu. I need gimp to slice by columns (start in the top left corner slice each grid down the column then proceed to the next column. Right now all I can get gimp to do is cut by rows. Normally gimps function would be fine but I need the image labeled a particular way so I can use the individual files in a map for a game. I'm making a 118 images so renaming them by hand would take too long.

View 2 Replies View RelatedIn CS5, I created a very handy action that allowed me to, with two paths selected, Divide, Ungroup, and Deselect, resulting in the divided paths without having to do each step manually.
In CS6, for some reason this is no longer possible-- if I try to record the same action, after the divide, everything is automatically deselected and I get a "The object "Ungroup" is not currently available" error. Very frustrating that the new version is more troublesome to use!!
I KNOW that it's possible to do this because I was somehow able to fudge it at one point and get this action to work. But I'm not sure what happened-- maybe a step was deleted in my action or something-- but one day it just stopped working. This action is basically THE function I use most in Illustrator given the way I work, and while it's not a huge step, having to manually reclick, ungroup, and deselect is a huge inconvenience.
Is it possible to divide a letter into three different colors? That is top one color, middle another color and bottom a different color.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have no problem dividing objects using the "divide" tool in the Pathfinder palette, but I was wondering if there was a way to divide brush strokes?
For example, let's say you wanted to paint three brush strokes right next to each other, but not overlapping. Is there a way to select all three strokes and then divide them so no one stroke resides over another, they would be completely separate of each other.
Can't figure the math... or find a script.

I tried turning the line into a sliced object and dividing that, but it didn't seem to work. Pathfinder only works on two or more objects.

How do I take a large PDF, which has an index, linking to subsequent pages, into a similar thing in HTML, be it a single large HTML file with anchors and links, or several smaller HTML files, all linked to from the index file?
I have done all my slicing, naming them, checked that all naming conventions are fine, ready to save it for web, and
1) Do I select all slices and save?
2)Why there is not at save as HTML option in save as?
3) Do I save it as SVG?
4) Do I export the whole document as CSS and open it in Dreamweaver?
5)How do I 'visualize' the CSS in Dreamweaver?
9-slice scaling doesn't appear to work when applied to symbols based on an embedded raster image. Is this a known limitation or am I doing something wrong? It works fine with vector-based symbols. I'm using Illustrator CS6.

"Illustrator now honers 9 -slice scaling of symbols. Any scaling done on symbol instance with 9-slice scaling option in legacy version will look different now. Do you want to retain the 9-sclice scaling option for symbols?"
I click on the yes button. But what does this all mean?
When I do enter in this file it is distorted. How do I change the legacy so that it will reflect the origional file.

[URL]
It needs finishing by hand ... how on earth do I open it in Illustrator?
I downloaded it as an .svg via SVG Crowbar. (That's the only way I know to extract an .svg and am happy to try your better strategies)
.When I ask Adobe File -> Open -> and choose it, Adobe says "can't open illustration."
Fwiw, Reader error is "could not open graph.svg bc it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged, for example it was sent as an email attachment and wasn't correctly decoded"
Inkscape will open graph.svg, no problem. But I was hoping to try out Illustrator.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI inherited a document (yes, you heard correctly) that was designed in Adobe Illustrator (I have the CC version). This is a 10 page document with a lot of text and fake tables. Why the original author used AI for this document but now, I wish to convert this document into a more appropriate tool.
I don't know, perhaps I shouldn't be surprized that AI doesn't have much in the way of text based exports (except PDF and pure text)... PDF isn't ideal because it outputs blocks that are out of order, making it difficult to copy and paste into another editor.
Ideally, my preference is either HTML, MS Word, FrameMaker, Robohelp, CHM, or Dita. Is there a super-secret method to export an AI document into one of those formats?
I'm trying to export an image map from Illustrator CS6. However I can't get it to save the HTML.
I've setup my hotspots etc. However when I do "Save for Web", there is no option to save "Images & HTML". It only gives me the option of "Image Only".
The only way I've been able to get the HTML is to click on "Preview" from the "Save for Web" screen, and then copy and paste the image map code from there.
I've also tested it with slices, and same thing. There just seems to be no way to get it to generate a HTML file.
Is there some other way I'm supposed to get it to create the HTML?
I think the execution would be relatively easy. how to tell detect if a symbol is within a rectangle vector area. so almost like a parent child relationship in HTML goes? was thinking about getting top bottom left and right of a layer called parent then checking all layers below it (maybe they have "child" naming scene, so i can match by layer name) if the top bottom left and right are >=/<= the one above it. so it is basically detecting if a box is inside another box.
URL...need to detect is symbol1 is within div1 or 2 and same with symbol2
I want to divide object into multiple object equally distribued. But my object is a "S", this is not a basic rectangle. And i want to apply this technique to other objects. I don't know if it's possible to do that with illustrator because it seems a little bit complicated.
