AutoCAD Civil 3D :: How To Disable Selection Dialog Box
Jan 6, 2013
How can I disable the selection dialog box and enable selection cycling? I used to be able to hit shift+space bar to cycle through overlapping lines, I'd like to still be able to do that. I just switched from C3D 2011 to 2012.
I have a program (C#.NET) that opens files in a batch by using the DocumentManager.Open() method.
The first problem is , if one of the files has a macro, the vba dialogbox appears which interrupts the progress. How can I disable the macro and block the dialogbox?
Another problem is, it will take a very long time to open a file by the CAD application after processing 10 or 20 files later. I have closed the file and disposed the document object by using the Dispose() method after opening. The application looks like crashing and the memory used by CAD is up to 200~300M which is only 50~80M when the first sevral files was processed.
I'm using TaskForms (Autodesk.Windows.TaskForm), and it's all working pretty well, with one exception. I can't seem to disallow cancellation of the taskform. The class has a property called AllowDialogCancellation, but regardless of what I set that to the dialog still has a clickable X, and can also be closed with the escape key.
I am currently writing a COM application that uses the Inventor 2013 APIs to open up and inspect CAD files. This utility is intented to operate on large amounts of Inventor data. I am using SilentOperation and Visibile properties to allow the automated process to run unmanned (i.e., suppressing any popups). However, there are occasions where Inventor will crash due to some corrupt data or some other system problem, which results in the CER dialog popping up.
The utility handles Inventor crashes by clearing out and restarting the session, but the CER dialog prevents this from happening until a user manually closes the window. I would like to avoid the complications of creating a monitor' that handles killing the Inventor.exe process in the event of a crash. Is there any setting - either in the application configuration or through the APIs - that would turn off the CER when Inventor crashes? I have seen solutions that disable CER for AutoCAD [URL], but I need to be able to do this in Inventor.
Im trying to create an action where I move image folder onto a droplet, which is image processor script and have all psd files turned to images. However, each time I get the dialog box asking me input/output folder information and so on... Is there are way to suppress this popup? I'm trying to automate as much as possible, including not having to click the same button in a box each time .
1. When i double click a .MAX file , the new windows of 3ds max opened, although there is already have a 3dsmax window i opened before That means i want to open the .MAX file in the existed 3ds max window -which i opened before (without have to drop .max file into 3dsmax )
2 .How to disable this dialog when drop a 3d model file to 3ds max ? it's annoying when dropping .max files and this dialog appears ,we have to click many times
i want it to choose : "open file" as default , how to do it and when we want this dialog appear again ,how to do that ?
and the same with this dialog : when i use ctrl+N( new scene) how to make it choose "New ALL" as default ?
Is it possible to disable the dialog for choosing how transparency is treated ? If you to batch operations on EXR files you have to confirm for every file!
What command turns off the annoying "selection dialog box"? I don't know if it's new or not, but it started showing up this week. I see the purpose, but don't like it or the fact that autocad makes difficult to turn off a feature after it puts it there without warning. Attached is a screen shot of it.
I need to do some repetitive task on a lot of dynamic blocks, unfortunately, when I open each file, AutoCAD keeps asking if I want to open it with the block editor.
Is there a way to disable that dialog and open the files as normal dwgs?
A hint: BLOCKEDITLOCK doesn't make it, it shows another dialog...
My AutoCAD has started doing something different, I don't remember turning it on, and now I can't figure out how to turn it off.
What happens is when I hover the mouse near two or more objects a little blue box icon appears telling me that there is multiple objects there. Then, if I click, it asks me which object I want to select. URL....
i can only find the quick selection tool. What i really need is the selection tool that only selects what you want it to and not everything around it. where can i find this?
With regards to selection cycling, when it's turned on, the dialog box pops up in the middle of my screen which is exactly where I DON'T want it as that's usually where I'm working and it causes all kinds of selection issues. Regardless of the settings I choose in the options, it comes up in the middle of my screen.
I've tried setting the position to static and then dragging the box to the side but on the next click, it pops up in the original centered location. I've also tried every possible configuration in the options box to stop this behavior.
In CS6, when you apply an effect that somehow expands the appearance of an object, for example by making multiple clones, all of these clones become selectable. If you click on or drag-box an area that includes these clones, the original object will be selected.
is there a way to make CS6 only select an object if I click on the original vectors?
When creating selection marquees, i.e. magnetic lasso, etc., I like to "set" lots of anchors close together when tracing along an object. I can't tell you how many times I've been 98% finished w/ a tedious selection, and accidentally closed a marquee because the system "thinks" I double-clicked. I've set my double-click speed in the windows control panel as fast as it will go, but this still happens. Del does not delete the last anchor point once the selection is finished. It cuts the selection out. Ideally, I'd like a way to specify an altenative method in PS to finish selections, i.e. SHIFT CTR click, or ENTER, etc.
Does anyone know of there's some registry trick, etc. to accomplish this in Windows w/ CS2 or CS3.
As there a way to do this in PS prefs, etc, that I've totally missed. I just can't imagine I'm the only one having this annoying problem, but I can't find a single mention of it on google with what I felt were good search criteria.
At minimum, I'd be happy with a way to "Undo close selection", so I could resume setting anchors & finish it properly.
For the move tool you can choose to disable auto selection, auto select a group, or auto select a layer. By default though the path selection tool autoselects a layer. How can I disable autoselection?
I've been using Photoshop for more than 10 years now, more extensively in the last couple of years. I am a perfectionist, efficient and work very fast.
I don't understand why Photoshop programmers are not listening to their users and considering requested features to perfect Photoshop...but concentrating more on, like adding yet another set of filters or more polygon shapes we don't need !
One of the most important tools in Photoshop, for me at least, is the LASSO SELECTION tool. I generally have at least 15 layers for a project, you can probably guess that the SELECTION tool is my best friend.
The most frustrating thing using Photoshop is : the mouse double-click to close the SELECTION. You have no idea how many hundreds of times for the last 10 years I've cursed the Mother-F out of Photoshop...and time wasted on re-selecting again...
Don't advise me to modify my mouse double-click speed, or using the pen tool to select and reconverting to work path...those are not THE SOLUTION and you know it ! I've hoped for years now, for a new feature in every new version of PS preferences to disable the selection double-click.
When working with Paths in photoshop, I have developed a work flow that revolves around adding anchor points to an existing path and repositioning the added anchor point with the Direct Selection Tool.
The Issue I am having is whenever I create an anchor point and attempt to move it too quickly, that it instead enters isolation mode and the point is not moved. The result either having to greatly reduce the speed at which I work or repeat the movement several times until it works.
I'm attempting to create an easier way to change layer colors of nested linework by selecting the linework and having the ACAD index color dialog box appear to select the replacement color.
defining the "ic" variable;
(defun c:clc (/ ent ent_data ic ent_lay) ;change layer color(setq ent(nentsel)) (setq ent_data(entget(car ent)))(setq ic ;index color(cdr(assoc 62(ACAD_COLORDLG))))(setq ent_lay(cdr(assoc 8 ent_data)))(command "-layer" "c" ic ent_lay ""))
How to make the Getfiled dialog box taller to include more of the file selection area? Where to change number of lines displayed. The code is not in the Acad.dcl
Like the Acad.dcl one can edit the width of edit text window: See edit_width = 80;
Since upgrading to Illustrator 17.1 I can no longer select slices in the Save for Web dialog, nor can I select a slice on a different layer than the one it was created on.
I try to copy+paste a shape from Illustrator CS5 to Photoshop CS5 (Windows). My goal is to recieve a shape layer I can use in photoshop. But it just copies it as a VectorSmartObject and I can't convert it to a shape layer. I read, that "normaly" or at least in the Mac version a dialog box should appear, which let's you choose how you want to paste it in ( SmartObject/ShapeLayer/...). This doesn't happen. Is thia bug?
Currently Revit doesn't support multiple selection in Material edition dialog, so when user wants to delete multiple materials, he/she has to select one, delete, then one again and again. It's really tedious and waste lots of time.
I'm using the file dialog snippet as the foundation for a save as dialog box for saving a new copy of my template assembly to a project folder. Is there a way to disable the ability to click on a file in the window which puts that filename in the input box? The assembly file name is standardized and pre-"calculated" by my code and its a decent hassle if you accidentally click another file because the user would either have to rewrite the file name by hand, or cancel out of the dialog box and re-navigate to the project folder.
When I go to the file open dialog box and start typing in a file name the the file name box it does not show a list of drawings that match the search in the file name box.
How I got this annoying display at the bottom of my layer dialog box...???...
"All: 197 layers displayed of 197 total layers"
it covers up the slider and the bottom 2 layers in the dialog box so I can not see or edit them...I will try to attach a screen cap to show you what I am talking about...
When i start up AutoCAD C3D 12, this dialog box is pop up " This drawing was created with a newer version of Civil 3D. All entities created by Civil 3D within the drawing are in a proxy state..............are disabled for this drawing." I just started an AutoCAD, Not open any drawing yet!
How do i turn this message off? (permanently)
P.S. It just happened recently since the IT guy changed some variables on my machine, but no clue what variables he changed?
If I change the size of, say, the "file open" box, and shut it down, then open it again, it goes back to the default small size. Is there a setting that I can change so that the dialog box size stay's to my selected size?
