I'm running Autocad 2011 another trade has upgraded to Autocad MEP 2013. I can't seem to figure out wich object enabler to download so I can see his light fixtures and equipment in my drawing, been at it for 2.5 hrs with no luck I'm raising the white flag
View 2 RepliesI notice that there is no "AutoCAD Architecture & AutoCAD MEP 2011 Update 1 Object Enabler" for ACAD 2012 on Autodesk's website.
Why is that? Did I miss something?
We have the very unfortunate need to use microstation for one of municipal clients and would like to find out how to enable the AEC objects in Microstation so when we attach a dwg I dont get squares everywhere.

I’m reading through readme file for the Architecture-MEP 2014 Object Enabler & noticed that it’s installed as part of the normal installation of all AutoCAD 2014 based products, including Civil 3D…woohoo! Unfortunately, the Structural & Plant OE’s don’t appear to have a readme file. Are these also installed as part of the normal installation of C3D 2014? Or will they need to be installed separately?
I am working with AutoCAD 2012 LT and initially received a message concerning proxy graphics that listed a number of options for viewing when opening a drawing from another source (that was from another and another, etc). At that time, I believe I chose show proxy graphics, however, I can no longer get that original message to appear, which I think told me which enablers were missing. I now get a message regarding the drawing to be compatible by exploding AEC objects or loading proxy objects enabler. I am stuck, walls have text in them, doors are shown closed.
- I have tried opening the original file again, but no longer receive the original proxy graphics message, just the New version of objects in drawing message. Can I ever get the original message back, have I somehow changed my settings?
-If I change the settings for proxyshow or proxygraphics, these items will disappear.
-How do I know which enabler to use?
I've already started using the AutoCad 3D.

I extruded the leaf 1" first, then tried to copy it on a solid cylinder of a vase, but it didn't work!!! It seems to be simple, maybe not!
When I select an object and pan to make another selection the first object "deselects". The object(s) will stay selected until I pan and as soon as I start to pan the grips go away and the object(s) is deselected.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've created a block that uses a solid hatch acting like a wipeout field. In 2012, you can change the system variable TRANSPARENCYDISPLAY to <1> and it will make this hatch transparent. However, apparently that sysvar doesn't exist in 2010...

I cannot get the advanced select objects tools to work.
I type:
select <enter>
wp <enter>
Make my polygon, and then I'm stuck in a single item select mode. If I hit enter, they all unselect and I can't do anything. Typing a command (like "m") does nothing.
Typing m <enter>, and then doing the selection yields the same result. At the end of my selection process and I hit <enter>, it sits in the single object selection mode (the little box cursor). Hitting <enter> here again makes the selection dissapear and I'm back to square one.
every time I select something a small box pops up in my way with the object's properties. I can't figure out how it became turned on, and don't know how to get rid of it.

I check drawings from several subcontractors to make sure they meet the clients standards before submitting to the client. The client doesn't want any OLE objects in the drawings but the subcontractors occasionally use them. What is the easiest way to break this link? The client wants AutoCAD entities only such as lines and text.

Moving or rotating the UCS can make it easier to work on particular areas of a drawing. However when selecting an object or a portion of the dwg. crossing - window , (a good exemple is stretching) the selection of the area is still 'rectangular' from the ortho of 0° or 90°. This cross-window selection should follow the direction of the ortho angle selected. Is there a command or a setting in order for this operation to take place? IF NOT for future autoCad releases or a update for current releases should be reviewed and implemented
I need to make a plate 12"x12", 1" thick with a 3" hole in the center.
How do I "remove" the hole?
Is Autocad have a command to calculate the volume of a solid object? If so, it would come in handy at times.

On the top surface draw a 2" line from a corner by moving your curser in the direction you wish to go, direct enter 2". It will be a 3" line. Move with direct entry also does not work when placing an object on an object.
View 7 Replies View Relatedi'm having problem with array tool in acad2012. i draw a line, type array and hit enter. i put everything normally and hit enter when it says Enter to accept. then the line and arrayed object disappears. i don't know what's wrong with it. layers and everything is just as usual.
i did some other arrays in the same file before and they are working with no problem.
Is there a way to change linetypes within a certain object?
EXAMPLE:
I want to show hidden lines under another object.
So far, what I do is trim the existing lines and draw new ones with a new layer.
After working for a short time in 3D, my object snaps dont actually connect to any visible corners or points on the item I have chosen to edit or move. The triangle or square appears further from the point I select. The only work around is to close down the program and restart. After only a few transactions, the problem starts again.I have checked the system and found it is using the latest driver.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI'm working on a drawing which requires me to rotate 3D rectangles until they are leaning against each other like dominos. Because they are standing on a curved path only one top corner of each will touch the adjacent rectangle, and because each one is shorter than the last the point at which they touch is different every time. There are over 40 rectangles.
I have no problem picking the correct axis of rotation for each but I want to avoid time-consuming calculations for the angle of each or the reference Point for each. Ideally I'd like AutoCAD to rotate until it recognizes that the solids are interfering.
Is there a command or a LISP for this?
1. AutoCAD 2011, new user & new install. I’m going throught the tutorials and have lost ability to repeat past ability to do tasks. One being to highlight an object and then delete using the Delete key. Second example being lost is to left click a drawn line and then to hit delete. Is this a setup problem?

scale the attached drawing document along X axis by reducing the lenght to be fit into an A4 sheet. Without compensating the markings' visibility.
problem i'm facing when ever i tried to apply a material to an object in AutoCAD 2010,I have set all the necessary thing required for the material to be visible such as visual style(Realistic/Conceptual),Material/Texture(on) and any of the isometric view.Below is a captured image of the problem.

If i use in ACAD2007: With "PSELECT" and then "P" or "L" i could select the last marked Object/Selectionset. I had just to select the Object with the mouse. Now in ACAD2010, with this routine i can only select objects which i have selected in a command (before or within).
For example: Draw a few circles and lines. Then copy 3 of them. ESC. And select another few. ESC and then use PSELECT P and it marks the three which i selected to copy and not these i've selected with mouse!
The same in Lisp with: (entget(entlast)) . You aren't able to select those object which where only marked by mouse.I know; mostly you use a command with some objects and then use another with the same objects, and it works. But when you klick ESC or even in Script or Lisp you got problems, and its not very "proper" at all. Is this the new handling with the selection set: feature odr big?
I'm currently encountering issues when trying to shell a solid object (any). The command doesn't work for me.
