problem i'm facing when ever i tried to apply a material to an object in AutoCAD 2010,I have set all the necessary thing required for the material to be visible such as visual style(Realistic/Conceptual),Material/Texture(on) and any of the isometric view.Below is a captured image of the problem.
View 1 RepliesURL....When experimenting I found out that the materials are displayed in the browser but don´t appear any more when a parameter is changed. The browser still displays them right but I need to change them and apply them to get Inventor to display them again. I´ve attached two screenshots to show you the material is still assigned.
The assets have been authored with a german Inventor version and opened in a English language pack version. Changing the target language and replacing the English library had no effect at all.
I will be forced to open EVERY Asset and change ALL the materials with German names to their English counterpart. Including colour styles I apply by ilogic.
i'm quite new to revit and am having issues with renderings in cloud, my computer is too slow to do this directly in revit. the colours and materials that i have assigned to cladding panels just comes out as grey. Unistalling, reinstalling materials library....changing the settings in 'material editor'....
incidentally when i do a draft render on my computer to 'screen' or 'printer' it shows the correct colours.
Architectural logo has inserted as OLE object in the title block, we called this title block as x-ref and inserted the title block in paper space (layout). Now when we convert into pdf the drawing the OLE object logo is not appearing and the other coponents are appearing.
what could be the reason, for PDF conversion i am using DWG to PDF.pc3
When we convert same logo as a pdf overlay in CAD by using same .pc3 file it is working fine.
I am using AutoCAD 2011.
I have one text in AutoCAD 13 when i copy and Paste to AutoCAD 10 the Text is appearing as OLE Object.
View 3 Replies View RelatedBefore I upgraded to AutoCAD 2014 (was using 2012) when I used the MOVE command on 3D geometry (while using the Realistic Visualization) I could see one object move into another. Like, moving a cylinder into a box to represent a button, and I would see it slowly sink into the box as I moved it further and further along.
In 2014, the object I am moving will REMAIN ON TOP visually of all other geometry until it is completely inside the other geometry (at which point it disappears completely). It's hard for me to then judge just how much of it is sticking out during the MOVE command. Once I complete the move command, the proper visualization order is then shown.
In other words, if I have a 10 inch cylinder, and I'm trying to move it into a box so only 2 inches sticks out (as a visual guesstimation), currently I would see ALL 10 inches of the cylinder whether part of it is inside the box or not, until I complete the MOVE command.
im using civil 3d 2012 when I click the DEFINE OBJECT DATA icon the dialog box is not appear I don't know if I did wrong on my software.
View 2 Replies View RelatedToday I opened a file that has previously worked perfectly well, only to find that when I open my surface in Object Viewer and begin to rotate it manually, the triangles making up the surface do not appear. I have the contour lines and border (what is enabled in the Edit Surface Style/Display/Model tab) although the triangles (which should be displayed as well) do not appear. Other surfaces show like they should.
Is there another option other than the Edit Surface Style/Display/Model tab and the VISUALSTYLES command?

I have a drawing (let's call it "main.dwg") with an external reference (let's call it "file.dwg") as the bulk of its content. The drawing "main.dwg" has 16 layout tabs, each with several mview windows.
Needing to make some changes to "main.dwg" for the first time in a couple months, I just opened it and was having issues with freezing out layers in the mview windows. It turns out that "file.dwg" appears twice in the xref list under two different names (let's say "File 1" and "File 2") with the same target path.
Besides the disorganization created by the double xref, it makes freezing layers in the mview windows twice as complicated, since each layer now appears twice in the layers list. For example, since layer 0 appears in "file.dwg", "main.dwg" contains the layers "File 1|0" and "File 2|0".
Detaching "File 2" in the xref list removes both references. Retargeting "File 2" to a different file retargets both references. Detaching both and reinserting the xref resets the layer freeze settings in every mview window, making every layer visible again.
All the text on my palettes and bars are not appearing. I can see only the numbers that were on them.
The same happen with list of layers, colors and every dropdown list. See screenshot attached for a better understanding.
I tried reinstalling and resetting configs, but it didn't work.
I am using vanilla autocad 2011. installed from the autocad mechanical suite. I keep having a problem when copying blocks, leader lines and text, they sometimes apear bold in paper space. I have used the trick of changing the Z dimension from 0 to 1 and back to 0. My leader lines do not have the ability to do that. How can I keep this from happening. Autocad 2010 never had this isssue. Attached is a capture of the problem, you will see the bold text.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am using AutoCad 2011 and am not seeing the bubble notifying when an xref needs to be reloaded. I do see the notification alert in the taskbar immediately after saving the xref, but do not see the bubble with the link to reload. XREFNOTIFY is set to 2. Thought XNOTIFYTIME might have worked but I don't know how to use it as typing it in the command line in AutoCad doesn't work. Also tried (setenv "XNOTIFYTIME" "#") but typing that in the command line doesn't work either.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have drawn a special brick pattern that I need to use at the hatch for a three story building. The idea was to draw the pattern on a large scale and then use xclip or clipit to crop the pattern to the openings in the wall, i.e. windows, doors, etc. The polyline that I'm using to clip the brick pattern block is quite complicated. When I use it to clip the block, stray lines appear OUTSIDE the boundary. The xclip frame does match the boundary I want. Note, the entire block isn't appearing, just a row of lines here and there. It's obviously a glitch of some sort.

We have a dynamic block here at work that has a solid hatch in it. It is a simple block which only utilizes a dropdown menu.
This block is a circle with a solid hatch in it. However when I select the block via dropdown menu, the hatch is not solid, it is a bunch of lines originating from the center of the circle.
I have never had this problem before with this block and nothing has changed with the block.
It also works fine when I open up other drawings.
This tells me that there is a problem with the settings of this specific file but I cannot figure out what setting.
I believe the problem occurred because I brought my work home with me and I have different settings on my autocad (both ACAD 2011).
Material mapping.
When I apply a material to a mass element the material follow the world UCS, that's ok with me. But when i rotate the mass element the material map remains with the world UCS but not with the object.
How to lock the material map to the object when I rotate it.
It's something silly but this tranfosmation tool is not appearing when I have selected object and it was really usefull for my. How can I get it back.
View 1 Replies View RelatedIm trying to create a material for glass balustrade that will elevate and show outline but not block what is behind. Useful for shr screens (show tiling, taps etc) balustrade for balconies, stairs etc.
I have balustrade I'm working on now using a railing object. There are no posts at all and I'm using dynamic posts with a nothing material to cut up the guardrail material into pieces. So need the posts to disappear but stil cut the glass into sections. Also in elevation, need to see the glass outline but also to show what's behind. Normal glass in elevation rightly blocks what's behind (inside).
There is a problem with how materials operate. You are unable to use an object/material combination as a negative. For e.g. assigning my posts above a material that has 3d body turned off negates it impacting the glass (ie no longer cuts) so I have to 'see' the gaps otherwise the glass goes straight thru. The post has to be directly inline with the glass to cut (fair enough) but turning the 'gap' material 3D body display off and the railing def no longer sees the post cutting the glass just because 3d body is turned off in the material display. (not sure why these have to be linked. If glass has frame (shr screen) then it's ok. just turn off glass but if in the case of glass balustrade you need to be able to do it.
Im thinking maybe using another object rather than railing, like a curtain wall and having a very small width frame using normal glass material that will elevate and another glass material that will disappear.
With command massprop I can get many interesting data about 3d object, but where can I set material that my object is made of. Lets say I need to calculate volume and mass of my object which is made of aluminium, what are my options?

In Object viewer it shows clearly the rock material on the surface.
When I try to render, some materials get transparent. The solution is to set the view-backgroundcolor to 'none'
But I want a gradient background.

I just wanted to add some materials to my objects and it seems some menu entries on Toolpalettes are missing (masonry etc.). I installed the full version of AutoCAD 2012 and also downloaded some additional material libraries. Now I have to make modifications to it that are angular to the presspull direction and am not sure that presspull is the correct way to do it. I've searched around for vids and have looked at quite a few, but am stumped. Don't know if I need to change the orientation so that the angle I want to cut is the direction for presspull or if I am simply looking at the problem wrong. If I knew how to take a screenshot, I would post some so that it would be clear how inept I am.

When I try, it changes the material for all walls or slabs. I have read something about a propagate option on the materials menu, but I can't find it.
