AutoCAD 2010 :: Solid Hatch Appearing As Lines From Center Of Block

Dec 3, 2012

I have a problem with a File in Autocad.

We have a dynamic block here at work that has a solid hatch in it. It is a simple block which only utilizes a dropdown menu.

This block is a circle with a solid hatch in it. However when I select the block via dropdown menu, the hatch is not solid, it is a bunch of lines originating from the center of the circle.

I have never had this problem before with this block and nothing has changed with the block.

It also works fine when I open up other drawings.

This tells me that there is a problem with the settings of this specific file but I cannot figure out what setting.

I believe the problem occurred because I brought my work home with me and I have different settings on my autocad (both ACAD 2011).

AutoCAD 2010 :: Solid Hatch Transparency And DWG To PDF

Feb 24, 2011

I'm having problems with creating PDF's and transparency hatching using DWG to PDF.pc3.

The PDF does show transparency but has a fine lined pattern at intervals in the hatched area, it does print just fine though with no evidence of the lined pattern. Only problem is most of our work is supplied as high quality PDF.

I prefer to use DWG to PDF.pc3 due to the excellent quality of the PDF. I have played with modified Adobe PDF.pc3 to mostly remove the lines from the hatch but quality suffers in the bitmapping of the document.

I am using AutoCAD Map3D 2011 and AutoCAD 2011 on a windows 7 boxes and Acrobat X Pro. I get this problem with normal solid hatching and SHP file polygon transparency.

Are they any secret/magic settings to fix solid hatch transparency using DWG to PDF.pc3?

AutoCAD 2010 :: Hatch / Solid Transparency

Sep 13, 2012

I'm using Autocad 2012.  I've created a 3D model, one of the components of the solids model, I've assigned a transparency value t which appears in the model, and in the orthographic layout view, and plotted as I need and expect it to.  The problem I'm having is that in other layout views, other components include a Dots hatch (I've inserted this dots hatch pattern in both paper and model space in attempt to fix the problem). This Dots hatch appears as I need and expect on the computer screen, but when I plot the layout drawing this hatch pattern plots transparent too, even though it resides on completely different layer than the solid component that I do want transparent.  I want the hatch pattern to plot opaque, not transparent (in other words the dots appear very, very light....almost invisible when I plot).

AutoCAD 2010 :: Hatch Turns Solid When Dwg Opened In 2012?

Jun 7, 2011

I have a little problem with autocad 2012. When I open a dwg in autocad 2012 some hatch turns solid, but same dwg is fine in autocad 2011 or previous versions. What is interesting if I am in autocad 2012 and i click on the hatch and change something on the properties and i click enter it turns normal to what it should be. So i click on the hatch again change back the whatever it was previously and hit enter. I regen everything and its still fine. So basically i did nothing to it and its fixed. So this might be bug I am not sure. So after all this, i save the dwg and exit. I re-open the dwg again in autocad 2012 the hatch is back to solid. What is very interesting in autocad 2011 everyhing is fine no hatch problems at all. I attached two pdfs as to what it should looks like when its correct hatch and what it looks like when i open it.

AutoCAD 2010 :: When Copied Leader Lines Appearing Bold

Sep 20, 2012

I am using vanilla autocad 2011. installed from the autocad mechanical suite. I keep having a problem when copying blocks, leader lines and text, they sometimes apear bold in paper space. I have used the trick of changing the Z dimension from 0 to 1 and back to 0. My leader lines do not have the ability to do that. How can I keep this from happening. Autocad 2010 never had this isssue. Attached is a capture of the problem, you will see the bold text.

AutoCAD 2010 :: XClipped Block Appearing Outside XClip Boundary

Oct 24, 2012

I have drawn a special brick pattern that I need to use at the hatch for a three story building.  The idea was to draw the pattern on a large scale and then use xclip or clipit to crop the pattern to the openings in the wall, i.e. windows, doors, etc.  The polyline that I'm using to clip the brick pattern block is quite complicated.  When I use it to clip the block, stray lines appear OUTSIDE the boundary.  The xclip frame does match the boundary I want.  Note, the entire block isn't appearing, just a row of lines here and there.  It's obviously a glitch of some sort.

AutoCAD 2010 :: Hatch Creating Error In DWG File - Lines Disappearing

Nov 8, 2012

We are using a file created by another company and making additions to it for Interiors. While working in this file we have added some new layers and have begun to hatch new walls. While hatching some of these wall my boss received a message saying that the file had errors. He saved and closed the file at that point. When he re-opened the file a number of lines were missing from the file.

They appear to be completely random - i.e. parts of chairs are missing but not the whole chair, parts of walls but not whole walls. The things missing were not all on the same layer and were not necessarily items that had been hatched.

Note - we are running 2012 and the files were created in 2007

AutoCAD 2010 :: Changing 0.050 Dia Circles To Two Lines (x On The Center Point)

Feb 19, 2013

change all circles of a certain diameter in a .dxf file to points. I received the following lisp file. For the last 10-12 years it has worked great. We create many custom sized parts that could be cut on a plasma (utilizing the circles for holes) or punched, assigning a crosshair tool to the point. Now we are switching to a laser, and want to etch a crosshair at this same location. Our solution has been to draw the crosshair and copy to each required location. Sometimes this may be 20 to 30 locations. Now I would like to know if there is a way to replace all of these circles with a crosshair. This could be a similar lisp file, or an easier manual operation. I know that I can select all of the circles using the filter command and specifying the radius. But I don't know how to assign the 'crosshair' to these locations. (defun c:ctopt ( / ename cnt ss) (setq ss (ssget "x" '((0 . "CIRCLE")))) (if ss (progn (setq cnt 0) (repeat (sslength ss) (setq ename (ssname ss cnt)) (if (equal (cdr (assoc 40 (entget ename))) 0.025 0.005) ;use this line for a radius 0.025 +/- 0.00015 ;(<= (cdr (assoc 40 (entget ename))) 0.05) ;use this line for a radius of 0.05 or less (progn (entmake (list '(0 . "POINT") (assoc 10 (entget ename))(assoc 8 (entget ename)))) (entdel ename) )) (setq cnt (1+ cnt)) ) ) ) (princ) )

AutoCAD LT :: 2010 Design Center Block Updates Kills Display Order In Drawing

Working in AutoCAD LT 2010.

Drawing format 2007 or 2010

bedit, OK if you regenall after

refedit, Ok if you regenall ofter

design Center - display order goes out the window. The inserted block is redefined but the rest of the drawing loses all its display order. sortents (127, 33, 51, etc) and displayorderctl does nothing, either before or after the block is redefined. hatches and blocks just jump to the front (display order shows as order of drawn not order as moved to) Regenall does nothing.

absolute nightmare with display order managed elevations (solid hatch, baconies, windows, multple buildings, all overlaying!!)

AutoCAD .NET :: Block Reference Hatch - Deleting Loops Within A Hatch

Feb 22, 2013

I want to be able to add a Block Reference to a hatch. I'm adding the block reference to an ObjectIdCollection and the hatch is not taking it when using AddLoop().

So I thought maybe I needed to add the location of the polyline (curve-like) object that is member of the blockreference to the hatch, but I don't know how to get its ObjectId.

Hatch thisHatch = new Hatch();thisHatch.Layer = layerName;thisHatch.SetDatabaseDefaults();thisHatch.SetHatchPattern(patternType, patterName);thisHatch.Color = Color.FromColorIndex(ColorMethod.ByColor, colorIndex);thisHatch.Transparency = new Transparency((Byte)(255 * (100 - 60) / 100));tSpace.AppendEntity(thisHatch);transaction.AddNewlyCreatedDBObject(thisHatch, [code]........

Also, I'm trying to delete certain HatchLoop that is associated to a polyline but I don't know how to do it. I'm going through the loops in the hatch but I don't know what to do there. I wanna do this so I create a new and different hatch on top.

I think one could also copy all the loops except the one one wants to delete, but I'm not sure how to tell which one is the one I want to delete that is the one associated to a polyline or that is in certain region.

AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Hatch Not Appearing Correct In Layout Tab?

Feb 7, 2013

I am working on creating a set of plans and have a couple of note pages that are generic and will not need to be change. I am creating a template with layers, layout tabs, styles, etc. I am trying to put these notes straight into a layout tab just simply by pasting them in there. The issue I am having is with the hatching on a couple of objects, the hatches appear correctly right off. When I save the drawing and reopen the hatches are a solid block, regen does not fix this. I can however explode the hatch and then undo the explode command and it appears correctly. Is there a way I can make the hatches appear correct everytime?

AutoCAD 2010 :: Grey Lines Flick White When Working In Large Dwg / Cutting And Pasting As Block?

May 4, 2012

when I am working on a large drawing and/or pasting as a block, all the grey lines (colour 8) turn to white. When I select a grey line, it flicks back to grey, but de-select, and it's white again.

If I toggle on hardware acceleration, the problem is fixed for a short while, and also if I turn it off, it is fixed for a short while, and also if I save, close and re-open it's good untill I paste a block....

I suspect it may be because of my setup and an un tested graphics card:

AutoCad :: Hatch Displaying As Solid?

Jan 22, 2012

I have a hatch (that is not solid). Sometimes it displays as a solid hatch though, although if I move the hatch (even slightly) the display issue is resolved and the hatch displays properly (i.e. not solid anymore). Regen doesn't fix the display issue, only moving the hatch slightly (temporarily).

I'm not sure how far away from the origin the hatch is although it is no further than what it would normally be when it works fine (and it can't be moved closer to the origin anyway as that would screw up my models real world coordinates).
